War in Iran: Where in Europe have petrol prices spiked?

Motorists across Europe are facing higher fuel prices as the war in Iran has rattled global energy markets, with governments looking at how best to react.

00:08Motorists in Europe are facing higher fuel costs as the war in Iran rattles global energy markets.
00:14Petrol prices have risen across several European countries in the weeks following US-Israeli strikes on Iran.
00:20But where and by how much?
00:22Data shows that between 23 February and 9 March, some of the largest increases were recorded in Germany and Austria.
00:29In Germany, which already had high fuel costs before the war, prices at the pump rose by nearly 14%, from
00:36€1.82 per litre to €2.08 per litre.
00:40Austria also saw a steep rise, with prices climbing from €1.51 to €1.71 per litre, a rise of
00:4713.7%.
00:49Finland's prices, meanwhile, jumped from €1.71 to €1.93 per litre.
00:54Several other countries, such as Estonia, Poland and Spain, saw increases of roughly 9%.
01:00These numbers are above normal price fluctuations.
01:04The data shows weekly petrol prices in Europe typically move by less than 1% before the war.
01:09In Germany, for example, prices rose by just 0.8% in the week before the war in Iran and
01:16jumped by 14% after the conflict began.
