00:12There were some patches of showers here and there this afternoon, but nothing really to talk about.
00:18And according to the Met Office, as this time, Trinidad and Tobago is not officially under a hot spell alert
00:24or advisory.
00:25The established threshold for a hot spell in TNT has not been met, which is normally 34 degrees in Trinidad
00:33and 33 in Tobago, persisting for five or more consecutive days.
00:38However, we are experiencing generally hot and humid conditions with temperatures feeling significantly hotter.
00:46Now, here's what tonight will bring.
00:48Tonight will be partly cloudy with showers that will interrupt fair, slightly hazy conditions with minimum temperatures at 25 degrees
00:56in Trinidad and 26 in Tobago.
00:58Now, if you're hoping for cooler temperatures, well, don't keep your hopes up because according to the Met Office, tomorrow
01:05will be sunny, slightly hazy and at times breezy.
01:09We will, however, have a few partly cloudy intervals with showers, mainly over Trinidad.
01:14So, if you have to be outside, move with your water, hot, shades and sunscreen.
01:20Daytime temperatures will reach up to 33 degrees in Trinidad and 32 in Tobago.
01:26Checking in on those dust levels now, Saharan dust concentration will remain mild to moderate, so still walk with your
01:33masks.
01:33And now, for our two favorite days of the week, we may get that much-needed cool down on Friday
01:39with partly cloudy skies, with periods of showers, with the possibility of thunderstorm activity.
01:45And Saturday will bring the heat with sunny skies and some cloud cover.

02:27With all this talk about the sun and the heat, did you know that the ground can become much hotter
02:33than the surrounding air on a sunny day?
02:35Well, because services such as roads, sidewalks, sand and parking lots absorb and store heat from the sun, allowing them
02:44to reach temperatures of 50 to 70 degrees Celsius, even when the air temperature is much lower.
02:50This intense heat can burn the pores of our pets and make it unsafe to walk barefoot.
02:57Parked vehicles also heat up rapidly, with interior temperatures reaching dangerous levels in a short time.
03:03To stay safe, walk pets during cooler parts of the day, avoid walking barefoot on hot surfaces, and never, ever
03:11leave children or pets unattended in a parked vehicle.
