When you think of Hokoku-ji Temple in Kamakura, the bamboo grove is undoubtedly the first thing that comes to mind. However, Hokoku-ji has other must-see attractions as well.
The dry landscape garden is said to be a recreation of the garden that existed when the temple was first founded. Looking up from the temple grounds, you can see a tomb called the “Yagura,” carved into a sheer cliff. The bell tower, built in 1757, is the oldest structure at Hokoku-ji.
