00:53And then Mike got hired, and I talked to the wife, and she said, you can do one more year.
01:02So I said, well, let's see if it works out.
01:04And then it kind of all came together.
01:07We just talked to DK earlier, and he said, well, you know, saying it's the last year might just be
01:13something guys.
01:14Maybe you don't get it this year.
01:15You want to come back another year.
01:17Do you think you'll have any kind of debate?
01:19No, zero debate.
01:24Zero.
01:25You're the man.
01:26My guy Aaron Rodgers says his wife gave him the go-ahead to come back this season, but there is
01:31zero debate.
01:33This is it.
01:34This is his swan song in the NFL.
01:38I love Aaron Rodgers.
01:39I live for Aaron Rodgers.
01:41Aaron Rodgers is my favorite person to interview in all of sports.
01:44Aaron Rodgers, to me, is the greatest thrower of the football in the history of the National Football League.
01:50Aaron Rodgers deserves a farewell tour, and I am absolutely thrilled that he is going to get it.
01:56I think Aaron Rodgers still has a ton of gas left in the tank, and I think he's going to
02:02add to his unbelievable resume.
02:03I mean, we are talking about someone who is fifth in passing guards, history of the NFL, fourth in passing
02:11touchdowns, sixth when you take a look at quarterback wins, fifth when it comes to quarterback starts.
02:17Plus, four MVPs for our guy Aaron Rodgers, an ass kicker, domination, just a joy to watch play in the
02:28National Football League.
02:30And I love Rodgers whenever he talks at a news conference or when I have a chance to talk to
02:35him.
02:35He's always candid, thoughtful, honest, and he left no doubts this is it when it comes to the final season
02:44playing in the National Football League.
02:47And I'm here to tell you, I think this is going to be an excellent season.
02:50And I'm not throwing that word around.
02:52Now, we can start debating what excellent means, but look at these numbers on your screen right here.
02:58He hit the over when it came to the betting odds for passing yards and passing touchdowns.
03:04You look at the numbers from last year, and this was playing for Mike Tomlin and a different offensive coordinator.
03:10I think it's more than fair to believe Rodgers will throw for a minimum of 3,500 passing yards and
03:20over 30 touchdowns.
03:21And you know because it's who Rodgers is, it's what he believes in, the touchdown-to-interception ratio is going
03:29to be great because it always is historically.
03:32And I think Rodgers is primed for a better season because the Steelers are better.
03:38And let's start with the head coach, Mike McCarthy.
03:40I think Mike McCarthy is an upgrade over Mike Tomlin.
03:44Don't misinterpret.
03:45I think Mike Tomlin did a phenomenal job, fabulous job in Pittsburgh, won a lot of games.
03:50But it was time for a change.
03:52Mike McCarthy, Pittsburgh native, right guy, right time.
03:56And he's Aaron Rodgers' guy.
04:00And when I talked to Mike McCarthy after the NFL draft, this is before Rodgers officially signed, but you knew
04:06that it was inevitable.
04:07He said he felt like Aaron had a lot of gas left in the tank,
04:10and these guys made such unbelievable, sweet, historic, beautiful music together, winning a title in Green Bay.
04:18Rodgers won a couple of MVPs playing for Mike McCarthy.
04:22Mike has talked to me.
04:23Rodgers has talked to me about the famous Mike McCarthy quarterback school in the offseason program
04:29and how Mike McCarthy, quarterback whisperer, you could talk to Rodgers or Brett Favre or Dak Prescott
04:36or Rich Gannon or Joe Montana about what Mike McCarthy has meant to them during their legendary careers,
04:43whether Mike was a head coach or a quarterback coach or an offensive coordinator.
04:48And I just love that they're getting the band back together.
04:51This is great.
04:52And look, I don't think the Steelers have a legit number one receiver.
04:56I don't consider D.K. Metcalf to be a top 20 wide receiver in the NFL.
05:01I don't think Michael Pittman is a top 20 receiver in the NFL.
05:05But I think both these guys are in the 21 to 30 range.
05:10So I don't think they have a typical number one.
05:12I think they have a couple of 1As or 1Bs, however you want to phrase it.
05:17And that's going to be amazing for Rodgers.
05:20The tight end position is filled with unbelievable depth and talent.
05:24I really like the depth and talent in the receiver room.
05:27I love Rico Dowdle.
05:29I thought that was the most underrated move by any team this offseason.
05:34He's a three down back.
05:35And Mike McCarthy loves him.
05:37He had him in Dallas and raved about him.
05:40And I thought Dowdle last year really burst on the scene,
05:42the year that he spent with the Carolina Panthers.
05:45So I'm really energized by this.
05:47I'm fired up by it.
05:49And when you take a look at the Steelers schedule, I really think that it's all there for the Pittsburgh
05:54Steelers to get off to a hot start.
05:57You look at it, and I think that Atlanta is a perfect opportunity to get a win.
06:03They are absolutely going to be able to take care of business against the New England Patriots.
06:08I think that Cincinnati is going to win the division this year, but I think they'll beat them at home.
06:13I love them against Cleveland.
06:14Love them going up against Indianapolis at home.
06:17Tampa Bay, New Orleans, Cleveland.
06:20I mean, that's beginning of the schedule is one where I think it's relatively, quote unquote, soft.
06:26I wouldn't be surprised if you see the Pittsburgh Steelers minimum six and two in the first eight.
06:34And I wouldn't even be surprised if it was seven and one.
06:36That's how much I believe in the Pittsburgh Steelers.
06:40You take a look at the betting odds for this year for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
06:44I can't believe how little Vegas likes this team.
06:49Bang the over on wins.
06:51Bang them to make the playoffs.
06:53And I think this will be the year the Steelers have the ability to go out and win a playoff
07:00game.
07:00And I know you think about history and tradition with the Pittsburgh Steelers,
07:04and it shouldn't just be about winning a playoff game.
07:07And I'm not getting crazy here.
07:08I'm not saying they're winning the division.
07:09I'm not saying they're making a real Super Bowl run.
07:12But I think people are sleeping on who the Pittsburgh Steelers are and what they're capable of.
07:18I really think that Rodgers, you saw him last year, week 18, you know, outgun Lamar Jackson pound for pound,
07:24throw for throw, third quarter, fourth quarter in that second half in Pittsburgh to make the playoffs.
07:29That's vintage Aaron Rodgers.
07:32And I think that this team is better.
07:34I think the head coach is better.
07:36And I really think that, I mean, you got to remember this.
07:39The Steelers haven't won a game in the playoffs since they beat, I want you to think about the weight
07:44of this,
07:46Alex Smith and the Chiefs 2015.
07:49What the hell does that even mean?
07:51That's a lifetime ago.
07:52I know the standard in Pittsburgh, you know, one for a thumb, Lombardi trophy, whatever it is.
07:57They need to win a playoff game, and they're going to be in position to do just that.
08:02I think the defense is vastly improved.
08:04I don't think Mike McCarthy gets enough credits.
08:07Omar Khan gets enough credit for improving the offensive line, improving the defense.
08:11I think T.J. Watt is going to get back to the form of being a defensive player of the
08:15year candidate.
08:16I think you are going to see Cam Hayward have a monster year.
08:21They are brilliantly coached.
08:23Mike McCarthy put together a great stamp on defense.
08:26Patrick Graham and company.
08:27I really think that the Steelers are going to bounce back in a major way.
08:31And wouldn't it be fitting for Rodgers to have his moments on the way out?
08:37I just think the world of Aaron Rodgers.
08:39I think when you listen to him talk, and I interview him once or twice a year,
08:44he just has such a great appreciation for the NFL, for NFL history, for sports, for sports history.
08:53He is so revered by teammates and players throughout the NFL, current players, former players.
09:00He plays the game the right way.
09:02I am such a massive fan of Rodgers, who he is, what he does.
09:07And I can't wait for him one more time to shut up the haters.
09:12I really think the Steelers win a minimum of 11 games.
09:15I think that they finish in second place in the division behind the Cincinnati Bengals.
09:20And I can't wait to watch Aaron Rodgers for one final season.
09:26We will celebrate.
09:27We will appreciate one of the greatest quarterbacks who's ever lived.

09:35Staying in Pennsylvania, we move from west to east.
09:37The Eagles just made Jalen Carter the highest paid defensive tackle in the history of the NFL.
09:42Four years, 152 mil.
09:44GM Howie Roseman says it's not about what he's done, it's what they expected to do next.
09:49I saw Zach Vaughn yesterday, and he made a great comment.
09:52He said to me, you know, he's like, when I signed my contract,
09:54someone told me, you don't pay me for what I did, you're paying for me what I'm going to do.
09:58And that's why we do these deals.
09:59You know, we don't do anything based on retroactive performance.
10:02We're doing things based on future performance.
10:07That, that's the quote.
10:09That is exactly, at the end of the day, why Harry Roseman is a genius.
10:14Why I think he's unequivocally the best general manager in the National Football League
10:20and the best general manager in all of sports.
10:22Listen, the numbers on the Jalen Carter bag, insane, right?
10:30152 mil.
10:32That's crazy.
10:34106 mil guaranteed.
10:36Insane.
10:37If you watched him play last few years, you would say he's not worth that.
10:43But Howie, who obviously is there every day, is projecting.
10:49And for Howie to pay Jalen Carter this kind of money now,
10:54it's something that should make Eagles fans feel great, right?
10:58First of all, you trust Howie Roseman.
11:00Who's the best in the business?
11:02It also means that Roseman believes that if he would have waited,
11:06then Carter would have had a monster year and the price tag would have gone up
11:11absolutely through the roof.
11:13Jalen Carter was a first-round pick.
11:16Jalen Carter has been really good.
11:18I don't know if I would call him truly great, but you know the skills are there.
11:24He has to make sure he's healthy, has to make sure he doesn't do
11:28dopey things like spit on Dak Prescott, has to make sure he takes care of his body.
11:32But the trust in Roseman, because Carter at any given moment
11:36is the best pound-for-pound player on that defense for the Philadelphia Eagles,
11:41the trust in Roseman, that is ultimately what should inspire all Philadelphia Eagles fans.
11:48Because Howie Roseman, when it comes to things like this,
11:51I mean, he constantly pitches the perfect game.
11:54And Roseman nailed it in terms of the explanation.
11:57They're not going to pay Carter,
12:00make him the highest-paid defensive tackle in league history
12:04based upon the early portion of his career.
12:07They're going to do it on predictive analysis for the future,
12:10including this year.
12:12Listen, I think Jalen Carter still has to grow.
12:15Grow as a player, grow as a leader, grow as a winner, grow as a worker.
12:20If it's good enough for Howie Roseman to give him $152 million,
12:25it's good enough for me,
12:26and it's good enough for all the fans of the Philadelphia Eagles.
12:30We move from Lincoln Financial Field to Citizens Bank Park,
12:35where Bryce Harper is looking for some new residents.
12:39Yeah, man, I think we need some help, you know.
12:42But, you know, I think we've proved, you know, pretty much all year
12:44we've done a pretty good job.
12:47But, you know, anytime you can get some help in here
12:49and reinforcements, I think it helps.
12:51Do you think that help would be best coming in the form of an arm or a bat?
12:57I think both.
12:59You know, I think obviously everybody knows what we need,
13:02so I think I've said it over the last couple days.
13:05I love this from Bryce Harper.
13:08Absolutely love this.
13:09First of all, Bryce Harper is a superstar superstar.
13:12The way he acts, the way he carries himself,
13:15the way he goes about his business, the way he slugs home runs.
13:19He also, during that rant, said he's seen with the first baseman's glove.
13:23Heck, if he needs to go back to the outfield or whatever it takes to help the team,
13:27Bryce Harper wants to win a World Series.
13:28Simple as that.
13:29Wants to deliver a World Series to the great fans of Philadelphia.
13:32If you're a Philadelphia fan, if you're a Phillies fan,
13:34you'll never get over what happened against Arizona.
13:38It was your NLCS to win.
13:40It was your World Series to win.
13:42They would have destroyed the Texas Rangers.
13:44They lost.
13:45It had happened.
13:45So Bryce Harper is willing to pick and choose his spots
13:49to speak to the press, but also speak to the top.
13:54He wants to speak to Preston Mattingly, the GM.
13:57Dave Dombrowski, the president of Baseball Operations.
14:00Ownership.
14:01Spend the money.
14:03Make trades.
14:04Get rid of prospects.
14:06Do whatever you need to do to get Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber
14:10and Zach Wheeler and Christopher Sanchez and company some help.
14:14Look, I'm surprised, and I've been wrong,
14:18that the Phillies hit the skits in the second half of the season.
14:21You remember my take.
14:22I said you would see by the end of July, I'm wrong, it's not going to happen,
14:27the Phillies leapfrog the Atlanta Braves in the division.
14:32Instead, second half of the season,
14:35after the great celebration of baseball in Philly and America,
14:39in Philadelphia at the All-Star Game,
14:40the Phillies have gone south.
14:42And they're losing games in unfathomable fashion.
14:45I mean, that game that they lost on Monday nights against the Marlins,
14:49who had lost 12 straight games, that was deplorable.
14:53I mean, it's not what the Philadelphia Phillies are.
14:56It's not what they do.
14:57It went against their entire DNA.
15:00I still love Don Mattingly.
15:02I still love the Philadelphia Phillies.
15:05I don't get off the bandwagon in any way, shape, or form.
15:08So what I want to see from Philadelphia, go big so you don't go home.
15:14Tariq's school ball started for the Detroit Tigers today.
15:17This should be the last game he ever pitches for the Detroit Tigers.
15:23There's no reason for Philadelphia to keep him.
15:26None.
15:27There's no reason for Detroit to keep him.
15:30None.
15:30If I'm Philadelphia, I would make a trade.
15:34Throw whatever you have to at the Detroit Tigers,
15:37and go get Tariq's school ball.
15:39That's what I want to see from the Philadelphia Phillies.
15:42When I talked to Derek Jeter a couple weeks ago,
15:44and I asked him the best fit for school ball,
15:46he said, the Philadelphia Phillies.
15:48Listen, preseason, you know this on Shine Time,
15:51I said the Dodgers team to beat in Major League Baseball, draw the line.
15:55Phillies were my second best team in baseball.
15:58I still, if I was making a ranking,
16:01would put the Phillies number two in terms of most likely to win the World Series.
16:06Now, the Brewers could say something about that.
16:08The Braves could say something about that.
16:10The Yankees, with their pitching, could say something about that.
16:12Bryce Harper sees opportunity.
16:14You know, the Dodgers, you know,
16:16they've lost a couple of games in a row here.
16:18You know, the Dodgers don't have Shohei Otani in the rotation.
16:21Philly needs a bat.
16:23Philly needs an arm.
16:24Bryce Harper, who is a star and understands the weight of his words,
16:30tells management, do both.

18:03when you take a look at what is going on
18:05in Philadelphia sports.
18:06You declared last Friday LeBron James Day
18:09when the Kings signed in Philly.
18:10Take us through this, Governor.
18:12What does it mean to the Sixers, to Philadelphia?
18:15And what was your reaction when the news broke?
18:18Did you think this would happen?
18:20Yeah, so, I mean, let me answer both parts of this.
18:23I mean, I grew up a diehard Philly sports fan, right?
18:28Four for four.
18:29And when I was a little kid, you know,
18:32the birds were playing well,
18:33the Eagles were playing well,
18:34the Phillies were winning,
18:36and the Sixers,
18:37this is back in like the Dr. J era,
18:39they were doing great.
18:40And then we go through what I refer to as
18:43the lean years,
18:44where, man, we didn't win a damn thing.
18:47And then, you know,
18:48Laura and I are blessed with four kids.
18:50All of a sudden, our kids come along,
18:51and all of our sports teams are winning again.
18:53So our kids did not live through those lean years.
18:56So in addition to being excited about
19:00how awesome our teams are right now,
19:03all four of them,
19:04I do have to say when I think back
19:06as just a Philly sports fan,
19:09we have never had a signing like this
19:12since maybe you could argue Pete Rose
19:14coming to the Phillies,
19:15although that was like a really different time.
19:18And, you know, whatever you think of Pete Rose,
19:20I don't think he was in the same stratosphere
19:21as LeBron James.
19:23So I think, number one,
19:25there's just an excitement,
19:26especially for those of us
19:27who went through those tough years,
19:28to see teams competing at the highest levels
19:31and being in a position to win a championship,
19:33Super Bowl, World Series every year.
19:35And I also think there's something special
19:38about the biggest superstar,
19:41arguably in the NBA,
19:42choosing us as the destination.
19:45That's a big deal.
19:46In terms of where I was,
19:48I was in the middle of working,
19:49doing, you know, governor stuff,
19:51got a heads up about it.
19:53And I must say my first reaction
19:55was I just wanted to talk to my kids.
19:58Because, like, for me and Laura,
20:01you know, our lives are so hectic,
20:03so busy, to have a few moments
20:05with all four of our kids
20:07in the same place, on the couch,
20:10watching a game,
20:11whether it's Sixers or whatever.
20:12That's, like, our special family time.
20:14And so, for me,
20:15when I learned about LeBron James,
20:17I wanted to share that with family first.
20:19And gave me the chills right there.
20:21That's what it's all about
20:22and sharing that.
20:22And sports and Philly sports
20:24with your kids, that's special.
20:26Now, take us through this.
20:27You reportedly...
20:28Wait, wait, but I want to know.
20:30You can ask me what you want,
20:30but I want to know, where were you,
20:32and as a Knicks fan,
20:34were you like,
20:35oh, shit, this isn't good for us?
20:37What were you thinking?
20:38Yeah, I mean, in all honesty,
20:39I now think the Sixers
20:41are the biggest threat to the Knicks.
20:42I think that Philadelphia's loaded.
20:45And honestly, Governor,
20:46I go back to the Jalen Brown deal.
20:48I still can't believe that.
20:50LeBron, I could wrap my brain around
20:52a little bit,
20:52on the heels of Jalen Brown.
20:54But the biggest move to me
20:56that was the holy cow wow for Philly
20:58was Jalen Brown.
21:00Yeah, no question.
21:01And like me,
21:02I'm sure you grew up hating the Celtics.
21:04So there's something special
21:05about fleecing the Celtics.
21:08But I think you're right.
21:09I would add one more thing.
21:10And one of the reasons why I thought
21:12you guys were so strong
21:14in making your run this year,
21:16aside from the fact
21:16that you had the entire
21:17Villanova championship team
21:18on your squad,
21:19but you guys were deep.
21:21You know, you could throw
21:22Deuce McBride in there,
21:23who'd get hot,
21:24put up a few threes.
21:25You had a couple backup big men there.
21:28I mean, you had a number of players
21:30who could come off the bench,
21:31three and D guys,
21:32who would spell your starters
21:34and keep New York in the game.
21:37Or even sometimes,
21:37you know, the plus minus
21:39would be plus two,
21:40plus four,
21:40something like that.
21:41And so to me,
21:42that is also a story
21:44that's gone really unreported,
21:46I think in many ways,
21:47is the depth of our bench right now
21:50is really, really strong.
21:51And with a guy like Dean Wade,
21:54Simons, you know,
21:55KCP, who just got picked up recently,
21:58like we got some depth
22:00and we also have guys
22:01who have been there before
22:02who have a championship mentality,
22:04which is really going to help
22:06guys like Tyrese and Joel and others.
22:09So 100%.
22:10I'm excited.
22:11Yeah.
22:11And Brown's obviously won.
22:13LeBron is as great as it gets.
22:15Nick Nurse has won a championship.
22:16So you're 100% right about that.
22:19Now, you reportedly ran into LeBron
22:21at dinner with the Clintons.
22:23I mean, the whole thing is awesome.
22:25Did you pitch him on Philly?
22:26What did you say?
22:28Yeah, I sure did.
22:29I mean, I was at a restaurant
22:31actually in New York City
22:33having dinners, as you said,
22:35and LeBron walked in.
22:37And I shot my shot.
22:39I mean, I just was very clear.
22:41Come to Philly.
22:43Not only can you help us win a chip,
22:45the fans will love you.
22:47And, you know, he's also someone
22:48who I think is really known
22:49for his philanthropic work.
22:51He really cares about
22:52the community around him.
22:53And I thought Philly would be
22:55an outstanding place
22:56for him to do his philanthropic work,
22:58along with, of course,
22:59what he does in Ohio,
23:01where he's from.
23:03Now, listen, I don't want to claim
23:04any ownership over this decision.
23:06He made the decision that was right
23:08for him and his family.
23:09But when I had the shot, I took it.
23:11Good for you.
23:12I mean, you got to shoot the shot
23:13in that situation.
23:14Now, we uncovered some footage
23:16published by the Philadelphia Inquirer
23:18of your prowess on the courts,
23:21which I love.
23:22So take us through this.
23:24And if you have any advice
23:26on how to play in Philly for the King.
23:31Look, man, I'm somewhat of an old school
23:34X's and O's guy, right?
23:36I mean, I still remember as a point guard,
23:38you lead the fast break,
23:40you stop at the foul line,
23:41you throw your bounce pass,
23:42and you get an easy layup.
23:44That's obviously not how the game
23:45is played right now.
23:47But I do think that I would run the ball
23:51through LeBron as much as I can on the point.
23:55I mean, I think he knows how to create.
23:57I saw that, you know,
23:58they were talking about this
23:59a little bit the other day.
24:00I think it was Nick Nurse
24:01who was talking about it.
24:02But I think that eases, you know,
24:05some of the pressure off of him to score.
24:07And quite frankly, these are five guys
24:09who all need the ball in their hands,
24:11our starting five.
24:12And he's going to distribute it in a way
24:15that's going to get Tyrese some more open looks,
24:18that's going to allow Joel
24:19to hit that mid-range jumper that,
24:22I mean, I don't think since Hakeem Olajuwon
24:25has a big man been able to do that as well,
24:27that kind of elbow jumper that he hits,
24:29is take some pressure off of him and his body.
24:33I think LeBron is going to help, you know,
24:36Vijay be able to slash even more.
24:39And so I would run him off the point
24:40as much as I can.
24:41Of course, LeBron knows when to take his shot.
24:44And, you know, he knows that better than anybody else.
24:46He sort of doesn't need to be coached on that.
24:48So I'm excited about that.
24:50I think it's going to take some pressure
24:51off the other guys
24:52and working the ball through him.
24:54That's what I would be looking at.
24:56I would also say that
24:58what he is going to do
25:00to the mentality of this team
25:02is going to make us tougher
25:04and going to make us play better defense.
25:06And listen, I mean,
25:08it's very, very hard for me to compliment the Knicks,
25:10but there was a toughness to the Knicks.
25:12And if you're not tough like that,
25:15it's going to be hard for you to make a deep run.

25:18have not had that toughness.

25:22with Jalen Brown
25:23and with LeBron James
25:25knowing how to win a championship
25:26and being tough players themselves.

25:30and he's going to take his game

25:34I think he's arguably the best executive in sports.

26:02He's calm and steady.

26:09and putting a team on the field
26:12who are capable of winning a Super Bowl.
26:14Now, look, you got to stay healthy.
26:16Some breaks have to go your way.
26:17But he's doing his part.

26:22I do believe in Jalen Hurts.
26:23I think he's disrespected in the NFL.
26:27I think now that the wide receiver stuff
26:29is sorted out, you're going to see him
26:31be able to air it out even more
26:33and more effectively than he was able to last year.
26:36I don't think our offensive coordinator
26:37was very good last year.
26:39I think the moves that Howie's made
26:42on the coaching side and on the field,
26:44picking up Makai Lemon was really, really good.
26:47I think you're going to see Devonta now
26:48be able to rise to a different level.
26:50He's just such a talented receiver.
26:53And remember, I think,

26:56we have the finest running back in the NFL.

28:05I mean, if I'm, so let's start with the Sixers.
28:07If you're going Mount Rushmore, you're going Dr. J or A.I.
28:12Both are just incredible.
28:14But my favorite Sixer of all time,
28:17this is going to be a deep pull for you here,
28:18was Mo Cheeks.
28:20Woo!
28:21Love that.
28:22Incredible, incredible point guard.
28:24And the thing, and I always try to learn from watching him,
28:26not suggesting I was anything like him on the court,
28:29but he knew when to accelerate.
28:30He knew when to slow down.
28:32He knew when he had to slash and take the layup or slash and dish.
28:36He knew how to get, you know, again, a really talented squad there.
28:41He knew how to get these guys the ball in a position where they could succeed.
28:46And he just struck me as a guy who was just the smartest basketball player there.
28:51I've never met Mo Cheeks.
28:52I don't know him personally, but for me growing up,
28:55he was a guy I always sort of looked to to sort of model or, you know, emulate.
29:01I thought he was really something special.
29:04I love the Philly fan.
29:05I truly do.
29:06And I interact with them, you know, on radio, on SiriusXM all the time,
29:11and all the Instagram posts on X.
29:14They're smart.
29:15They're passionate.
29:16What's the biggest misnomer when it comes to the Philly sports fan?
29:21You know, you use the word passionate, and I actually think that's the right word.
29:26I think people think sometimes we're, and I'm saying we, I'm putting myself in that category,
29:32you know, we're obnoxious fans.
29:33And I think that that's disrespectful because I think what we have is just a passion for our team.
29:40We love them.
29:41And you know what?
29:43When they work hard, win or lose, we always have their back.
29:48It's when we feel like they're not putting 100% on the field,
29:52or we feel like, you know, they're kind of maybe mailing it in,
29:55or they're not their best selves.
29:57That's when we get on them.
29:58And that is the Philly way.
30:01And so, you know, some people see us booing or whatever,
30:03they think we're obnoxious.
30:04I think it's just passion.
30:06And what I think you maybe don't appreciate,
30:09I mean this with the utmost respect, being in New York or not being in Philly,
30:14is I don't think you can appreciate how the psychology of our city is changed
30:21when our teams are playing well.
30:23You just experienced this with the Knicks.
30:25It was a pretty cool thing to watch New York rally around them.
30:29That is sort of Philly all the time, up and down.
30:33And so there is something that being a Philly sports fan
30:37and these teams have on, you know, the psyche of our city
30:41and really across Philly, across the whole area,
30:45that is just unique and it is special and it is something I love
30:49and it's a passion I have inside me.
30:51Now, before we let you go,
30:53I want you to put these future events in chronological order for me.
30:55And for the record, I'm only rooting for one.
30:58Sixers championship, Philly's championship,
31:01Flyers championship, Eagles championship.
31:04Josh Shapiro announces he's running for president.
31:07If you have to put that in chronological order, how would you do it?
31:10Well, I'd put all those sporting championships way ahead of that.
31:15I mean, look, man, you know,
31:17and you're not going to ask me to pick between my children on which championship is more important.
31:21Yeah, I knew not to do that.
31:22You're too smart of a fan.
31:23You're too good of a fan.
31:25No one does that to a fan, right?
31:27Can't do it.
31:28Can't do it.
31:28No, it's pretty cool.
31:30I mean, look, the Phills are playing well now.
31:33Probably tinker a little bit around the trade deadline.
31:36Tons of hope for the Birds.
31:38They kind of, you know, cleared up some of the issues last year.
31:42Obviously, expectations are sky high with the Sixers.
31:46And the Flyers, after kind of being down for a few years,
31:50man, they had a nice playoff run.
31:51A lot of young guys.
31:53These young guys are going to play together more, mature more.
31:56Great ownership there.
31:57We got great ownership, frankly, across all the teams who are investing in winners.
32:01So I'm optimistic that all four of them could win a championship here over the next couple years.
32:08I don't think that's hyperbole in any way, shape, or form.

32:46The Philadelphia 76ers signed LeBron James.
32:49The Golden State Warriors, despite reportedly at one point being the favorite, did not.
32:55Trayvon Green has thoughts.
32:57He's going to get crushed if he comes to the Warriors.
33:00Oh, man, you went to team up with Steph.
33:03Oh, you had to go to them.
33:06And all the things that people would have said.
33:08And I think ultimately that weighed in on the decision a lot.
33:13Well, let's get into this.
33:15With LeBron out of the picture, Trayvon Green returned yesterday to the Warriors.
33:19Basically, it was the whole player option contract.
33:23One year, 27.7 mil.
33:25That was what he signed for.
33:26He had declined his player option.
33:28Hopeful that LeBron was going to sign.
33:30They're both clutch guys.
33:3127.6 mil.
33:33Wanted to free up some money.
33:34Wanted to land the king.
33:35By the way, I disagree with everything that Drayvon Green said right there.
33:40It would have been celebrated if LeBron went to Golden State.
33:43He wants to win a championship.
33:44He loves the mix in Philadelphia.
33:46He'd choose the Sixers.
33:47Can't rip him for it in any way, shape, or form.
33:49And I give him a ton of credit.
33:51So, after that decision by James, where does this leave the Warriors, who, by the way, were
34:00Philly's original NBA team?
34:02So, a couple of things here.
34:05And I think it's important to kind of take a breath and reset.
34:10Because our friend Sham Sharania was talking to my friend Stephen A. Smith on his incredible
34:17SiriusXM show.
34:18And he said he thinks that the Warriors will extend that max contract on August the 29th.
34:23Two years for the max money.
34:26You know, hundreds of millions of dollars for Steph Curry.
34:29And extend that to Steph.
34:30And I think they absolutely should.
34:34And Steph should sign it.
34:35There are people out there who say, well, Steph should seek a trade.
34:40And maybe the Warriors should trade him.
34:42And they're going nowhere.
34:44Let me tell you something.
34:46That is crazy talk.
34:47You have to make sure that you never paint with a broad brush, right?
34:51You know, Mike Trout should not spend his entire career in Anaheim.
34:55I'm rooting against that because I want to see him go somewhere else so he can win, right?
35:01Philadelphia would make a lot of sense.
35:03Steph Curry is San Francisco.
35:05He is Oakland.
35:06He is Napa.
35:07He is the Bay Area.
35:08And he's delivered four championships.
35:12And he is the ultimate show.
35:15They sell out the Chase Center for every single game.
35:18When I'm looking at potential Knicks games to take my kids to, I still want to see Steph.
35:23Because it's like seeing someone that you've never seen before.
35:27So, I still think what they do in Golden State is the right thing.
35:33And they've tried through the years to kind of win and retool.
35:36And here's Kaminga.
35:38And here's this guy.
35:38And that guy.
35:39And now it's Yaxel.
35:41Let me tell you something.
35:43And Warriors fans, you might say you don't want to hear it.
35:46I think Warriors fans are very comfortable where they are right now.
35:50Winning doesn't matter.
35:52It just doesn't.
35:54They've won all their games.
35:57Draymond Green coming back is great.
36:00This might be his final year.
36:02Steve Kerr comes back for this season.
36:04Maybe next season.
36:05I would say it would make sense for Steph and for Draymond and for Kerr two, three more years.
36:13I can't see any way that Steve Kerr is going to allow Steph Curry to be traded.
36:19I can't see any way Steph Curry says,
36:22Get me to Dallas so I can be with Klay.
36:25Get me to L.A.
36:26Get me to Charlotte where he grew up.
36:30And, you know, Del Curry's uniform was retired.
36:32I don't see any of that.
36:34You have to remember, this is still a business.
36:37And the Warriors, they're not a playoff team.
36:40They weren't a championship team with LeBron James.
36:44They're just not.
36:45You just keep this thing going as a show, as a cash cow, as must-see TV until it's time
36:54for everybody to go.
36:56And I'd say that Warriors fans, you know, might be offended by that, but they're not.
37:03And if they're bored in late April next year, they can watch DVDs of all the championships that Steph won.
37:11I've never heard a Warrior fan ever, ever combat that take when I've said that over the last couple of
37:18years.
37:19It doesn't even matter.
37:22Look, I want to see Steph win.
37:23I want to see the Warriors continue to win.
37:26Max him out.
37:27Give him a new contract.
37:28Never trade him.
37:30And I don't think Steph Curry, under any circumstances, too synonymous with the Warriors, with Golden State, with the Bay
37:37Area,
37:37seeing Steph Curry in another uniform at the end of his career would give me the shakes.
37:42And I don't think that's Steph.
37:44And he is such a beloved superstar, not only in the Bay Area, but all throughout the NBA.
37:50Look, Kevin Durant changed teams, and he's not beloved.
37:54LeBron James changed teams a bunch.
37:56He's not beloved.
37:57Everybody loves Steph Curry.
38:00I think he's very cognizant of that.
38:03I think he's a top-ten player in NBA history, and I think he knows that, and he will stay
38:08in Golden State, as he should, for his entire career.
38:12Draymond hasn't just been busy getting his own deal done.
38:15He found some time to talk about other people's money, namely the star of my world champion, Knicks.
38:24It's the New York Knicks, bro.
38:25They can afford it.
38:26You ain't got to take no discount.
38:28Of course.
38:28For them to get paid?
38:30You ain't got to.
38:31My situation, again, my situation is different because Steph making $270,000, Clay making $180,000.
38:38All right, something got to give.
38:40Cool.
38:40I can take a little.
38:41I can take less.
38:43But he's the top guy.

38:46By the way, let Josh Hart or somebody else take less.
38:50And Josh Hart did not take too kindly to Draymond's suggestion, tweeting this in response.

39:19I don't want to hear you ever talk about Jalen Brunson.
39:23First of all, I will never, ever, ever criticize a star in any sport for taking all the money.
39:31Let's start there.
39:33It's your career, your livelihood, X amount of years you can play and be a superstar.
39:39So I will never criticize a quarterback in the NFL and fans might say, well, look at what Tom Brady
39:46did.
39:48You want to take all the money, take it all.
39:51That's your right.
39:53If you want to take less in a salary cap league so you can afford as a team to get
40:01the right parts and pieces around, great.
40:06Phenomenal.
40:06By the way, I didn't hear Draymond ripping fellow Clutch client LeBron James for signing a two-year, $8 million
40:16contract with the Philadelphia 76ers.
40:19Because for LeBron, that equaled happiness.
40:22He wants to win, thinks he has a great opportunity to do that when you look at the ability to
40:27go out and win with the Philadelphia 76ers.
40:29I mean, enough.
40:31Josh Hart is right.
40:33100% right.
40:34And Draymond Green needs to chill the hell out.
40:37I mean, and Josh Hart shouldn't be taking less money.
40:41Josh Hart should take as much money as he can make because he's the ultimate winning role player on a
40:50championship wheel.
40:51Knicks Villanova.
40:52That's who he is.
40:53That's what he does.
40:54That's why New York loves him.
40:56But keep Jalen Brunson's name out of your mouth.
