00:00When you read the finale script and saw sort of where the arc was taking him, what was your initial

00:05It really was a good way to kind of close the story of Voight.
00:09And it's not like a happy ending by any means, but you do, I think it does show that like
00:16at his core, he wants to be a good dad.
00:19He would do anything for his children.
00:21And also he's seen one of his greatest fears come true, which not that she's like maliciously killing someone,
00:28but he's always had this fear in the back of his head of like, am I passing this down to
00:32my kid?
00:32Now I've put my daughter in a position where she has to do this.
00:35And it's almost like the ultimate punishment for him.
00:38You know, he said, put me to death, put me away in a cell, do this.
00:40And it's like the one punishment that I think he would never pose on himself is the one that he
00:45ultimately has to bear.
00:48If the story ever calls for it down the line, would you be open to returning?
00:52I would go back in a heartbeat.
00:54As it is to leave, I feel like it's like for the character and for the show,
00:57it's kind of what needed to happen.
00:58It's the same with like, honestly, Friday Night Lights, you know,
01:01it was always sad for characters to leave, but it was about high school kids and high school kids
01:04graduated and they go away.
01:05And I think that's part of what made that show great is we kept it authentic and we didn't
01:09keep people around just because we liked them.
01:12And I think that's the same on this show.
01:13If there was like a way to have Boyd show back up that made sense, I'd love to do it.
01:20If it was just like, just to have him show up, I'd be like, well, why are we doing this?
