The Jetour T2 is an eye-catching SUV designed by former Porsche designer Hakan Saracoğlu. It has been gaining massive popularity in places like Dubai as a budget-friendly alternative to the Defender. Powered by a 2-liter turbo engine producing 254 hp this SUV features soft suspension, surprisingly high-quality interior, and decent off-road capabilities.
SUV or an off-roader? The Jetour T2 is more than just a Chinese copy of the Land Rover Defender.
In this video:
Design: Defender vibes with some fake bits of trim.
Performance: What's the real acceleration time?
Off-Road Capabilities: Handling sand and mud without a low-range gearbox. Is "X-mode" any good?
Interior Quality: Does the fit and finish really put European brands to shame?
Practicality: Lack of physical climate controls, side steps, and the built-in bottle opener.
↔ 2026 Jetour T2 dimensions:
✔ length: 4612 mm (4785 mm incl. spare wheel)
✔ width: 2006 mm
✔ height: 1880 mm
✔ wheelbase: 2800 mm
✔ boot/trunk: 580-1494 L

00:00as more chinese brands are entering the european market it's becoming increasingly difficult to
00:05keep up with them however i can say that most chinese models have at least few of the following
00:12flaws poor sound insulation poor handling poor driver assistance poor performance poor ergonomics
00:17and poor infotainment system and the overall design is usually quite bland however there's
00:24nothing bland about the jet or t2 the question is whether behind its land rover defender inspired
00:29looks hide any other positives let's check it out this episode is brought to you by 3w liners keep
00:38your car interior clean with perfectly fitting oem compliant mats which are also eco-friendly and
00:45odorless i have a set of 3w liners in my car and enjoy how winter mud and grit stays on
00:52them and
00:52how easy they are to clean they come with oem mounts or adapters and everything stays in place

01:21the jetor t2 is a chinese suv with some light off-road capabilities the jetor brand belongs to cherry the
01:28same company that offers among others omoda and jeku designed by former porsche designer hakan
01:34sarocoglu the t2 debuted in 2023 over the past couple of years i've seen a lot of them in dubai
01:41where it seems to be an affordable alternative to the extremely popular land rover defender and since
01:47people are buying it in a desert country it must be at least okay off-road right stay tuned
02:04meanwhile a quirk that caught my eye at the bottom of the front bumper are these two elements that look
02:10like towing eyes just like in a real off-roader however up close they turn out to be fake if
02:17you
02:17need to tow behind the front bumper are sockets for screwing tow hooks
02:25but this box on the tailgate actually houses a spare tire in this case it's a space saver if you
02:32go
02:33for the full-size spare tire then it doesn't come with a box if you're wondering how to get to
02:38your
02:38spare wheel you first need to remove this cover then detach the reversing camera and only then
02:47you start unscrewing the bolt and i recommend giving this a try once or twice before you find
02:52yourself stranded in the rain on the hard shoulder in the dark desperately looking for help on youtube
02:59you're welcome we'll talk about the interior later but i imagine like me you're curious how the t2
03:06actually drives come on let's go
03:23i'm recording this review in march 2026 in poland the jetter t2 is still offered based on an individual
03:29vehicle approval this means the car is generally safe to drive but no one will complain that it doesn't
03:36have for example the intelligence speed assist isa and this one doesn't have isa or the traffic sign
03:45recognition i mean not something i'd lose any sleep over but if the t2 starts selling more units and
03:52requires full approval then it's hard to say how isa and other assistance systems will be implemented
03:58specifically how difficult it will be to disable them for now most beepers can be permanently toned down
04:08turned off or at least made relatively quiet and for that reason alone this car is worth considering right now
04:20under the bonnet is a two liter four cylinder turbocharged petrol engine making 254 horsepower
04:27and 390 newton meters of torque this is cherry's own design but the seven speed dct is made by magda
04:34and the torque management system comes from borg warner
04:41in poland jetter claims average fuel economy is 11 and a half liters per 100 kilometers that's combined
04:47in the middle eastern specifications i saw even 14 liters currently i'm getting about 13 liters per 100
04:54kilometers and 12 is not out of the question the fuel tank capacity is about 70 liters so despite rather
05:00high fuel consumption the jetter t2 offers reasonable range generally speaking chinese brands are not
05:10big on supplying the technical data in the polish specification there is no mention of the 0 to 100
05:15kilometers per hour acceleration time internet mentions results close to nine seconds i checked and
05:21i got less than seven and a half seconds in sport mode and 7.6 seconds in normal mode as
05:27far as i can tell
05:28there is no launch control and then there's towing out of the factory jetter t2 is not ready to install
05:37a tow hitch however according to a south african specification i found online over there the car is
05:43adapted to tow up to 1.6 tons how does it drive well if you like driving an off-road
05:49or meaning high
05:50driving position soft ride and some body roll during cornering as well as diving during braking
05:56then you're in for a treat and i like that by the way i had no problem with the defender
06:01or the land
06:02cruiser handling unfortunately i cannot afford these two suvs the steering is light and surprisingly
06:11precise for this type of vehicle that's taking into account this soft suspension setup i mentioned
06:17the engine and the double clutch transmission could be a bit quicker to react but then
06:22this car is aimed at driving on rougher roads not racing on smooth tarmac if you can't afford the cayenne
06:30enjoy what you can afford
06:37visibility is decent and soundproofing is okay i'm willing to compromise in this segment like the
06:43defender also the t2 isn't the best car for cruising above 120 kilometers per hour that's when the car's boxy
06:49shape becomes apparent the driver assistance systems in their current form i don't know if and what will
06:56be offered later aren't intrusive there's adaptive cruise control with some very lazy lane keeping
07:02assist which i prefer to disable permanently the forward collision warning system sometimes beeps
07:08as does the blind spot warning system but they're also very quiet so you might not even notice them
07:20i couldn't find information on the turning circle but judging by how how awkward it is to reverse 90
07:27degrees into my driveway i suspect the jeture t2 isn't the most maneuverable vehicle out there measuring over
07:34460 centimeters bumper to bumper or almost 480 with the spare wheel on the tailgate the t2's dimensions
07:42fall between the defender 90 and defender 110 like the defender it's over 2 meters wide but at 188 centimeters
07:50it's about 8 centimeters lower than the british off-roader of course there's a 360 degree camera which makes
07:58both parking and off-roading easier and with that said i think it's time to drive off the beaten path
08:10this little off-road course i sometimes use has been repaired in recent weeks so the drone footage
08:16shows it's quite easy since i fly the drone and anna does the driving there's only so much we can
08:22film
08:22i later drove in some deeper sand but have no footage of it i can assure you the t2 got
08:28through
08:29it on road tires and i didn't even have to air down so chances are you're going to get stuck
08:34much further
08:35than you'd like to walk back to get a tractor to pull you out i use the mud and sand
08:41mode and turn
08:42traction control off there are also several other modes for different surfaces as well as something
08:47called the x mode which should adapt to the terrain but from messages displayed on the screen it seems
08:53it's better to select the right mode yourself
09:00there's a button on the screen that activates enhanced cooling it's called off-road radiation
09:05for some reason anyway i don't know why the manufacturer didn't make this an automatic feature
09:11perhaps this is a way to quickly fix problems with standard cooling system
09:15after the experience in the middle east there was a squirrel it made it
09:24unfortunately the manual doesn't specify under what conditions this additional cooling should be used
09:31i went to a different location where i occasionally take real off-roaders and at first the jet tour was
09:38doing very well however in deeper wet sand i began sensing this is the time to get out or at
09:44least air down
09:45also all terrain tires would be nice especially since there's also no low range transfer case there's a
09:53crawl mode but it's not the same if the going gets tough you can shift gears manually but in rougher
10:01terrain it'll definitely be a limitation there's also no manual diff lock everything happens automatically
10:12according to the internet sources because jetware doesn't specify the approach and departure angles
10:17are around 30 degrees there is no data on the break over angle ground clearance is 22 centimeters
10:23the car can also wade in water up to 70 centimeters and there are even depth sensors but i'm not
10:29brave enough to test those
10:47let's talk about the cockpit if the displays and badges on the steering wheel were covered i believe
10:53this is some concept mercedes like maybe the promised baby g-wagon or the rumored baby defender
11:01now the interior quality is much better than what i've seen recently in european cars everything feels
11:09solid pleasant to touch and it's designed with ergonomics in mind with a few exceptions and i'll get to
11:17those in a moment they're easy to grab handles everywhere the armrests on the doors and here are
11:24comfortable there's some faux leather and alcantara now i'm not a fan of screens in general more so here
11:31because the interface was probably designed with the chinese market in mind and then android auto
11:36and apple carplay were added for international markets and as a result when using these external apps
11:42you can't control the vehicle functions including climate control settings therefore it's best to
11:47program this special button on the steering wheel to take you back to the main screen so that you can
11:53fiddle around with settings and then go back to android auto there is also an unlabeled shortcuts menu
11:59you pull it down from the top of the screen now apparently you can edit it somehow that's what it
12:06says in
12:06manual but i haven't found a way how to do it while there are physical buttons for seat adjustment saving
12:14the seat settings is done on the screen and to the best of my knowledge the seat settings are not
12:19linked
12:19to the wing mirror settings so if more than one driver uses the car everyone has to click on the
12:24screen and adjust the mirrors to their needs if disabling esop when it finally arrives will require
12:31clicking through a multi-step menu every time the jetter will lose a lot of its appeal for me
12:37for now i'll forgive also the wireless charger which drops the connection every few seconds
12:42fortunately there are four usb ports under the center console i also forgive the odd sliding shelf
12:49that obscures the cup holders or access to the armrest the cup holders are rather tight as are the door
12:56pockets the storage compartment under the armrest and the glove box are average size
13:08there is a lot of leg room and good headroom in the back there are ac vents usb a and
13:14usb c ports
13:16now the chinese somehow managed to design a four-wheel drive suv with a flat floor in the back
13:22something the europeans can't do even in a front wheel drive hatchback there are pockets in the
13:30backs of the front seats the door pockets are tight as are the ones in the front there are cup
13:36holders in
13:36the armrest the rear backrest splits 40 60 there is no ski hatch to create a flat loading area you
13:45have to
13:45raise the seats first and then fold the backrests i'm not a fan of side steps at 175 centimeters i'm
13:54too
13:54short to avoid them and too tall to actually need them i mean they are useful i mean they are
14:00useful
14:00when i need to secure something on the roof but in everyday use they just get in the way
14:06the boot the tailgate has an electric lock with a soft close feature so press the button wait a couple
14:16of seconds and the boot opens now this button on the tailgate is for the tailgate only it's not
14:23connected to the central lock the only button connected to the central lock except of course the
14:28key fob is on the driver's door and again source the internet the boot volume is 580 liters allegedly
14:37this data isn't included in the polish importer specification or on the manufacturer's website
14:43with the underfloor storage compartment it's about that from the floor to the window line is about 400
14:49liters there is a 12 volt outlet a net on the side shopping bag hooks cup holders and even a
14:58bottle
14:58opener however for such a large car the cargo area is short both with the backrests up that's about 75
15:06centimeters along the floor and with the second row backrests folded down that's about 150 centimeters
15:12so if you're going camping in your t2 bring a tent as is often the case with chinese cars the
15:21price is
15:21suspiciously low for now in europe you can only buy the jetur t2 in poland and it costs about
15:2841 000 euro plus paint then there is a rebadged jetter t2 sold as the xk3 in italy it's got
15:39a slightly
15:39detuned engine and it starts at around 44 000 euro regardless that's about a third of the price of
15:46your modestly specced land rover defender
15:51the jetur t2 arrived in poland with a bit of a delay i saw the first unit in the summer
15:56of 2025
15:57when i was still deciding whether or not to extend the lease on my mini countryman
16:01if i got to drive the jetur back then perhaps this would have been my next car regardless of
16:09all its faults of course because the jetur t2 has personality something that most cars i can afford
16:15today seem to lack and are you interested in a soft rotor which when you squint your eyes
16:22kind of sort of looks like a defender or maybe you're after something a bit more practical
16:28and even cheaper let me know in the comment section below if you like my sarcastic down-to-earth and
