00:00Former Bangi MP Ong Kian Ming projects that Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional are on track to take control of
00:07Negeri Semilan in the August 1st state election.
00:10The DAP leader expects the two coalitions to win between 23 and 25 of the state's 36 seats.
00:18Pakatan Harapan, meanwhile, is expected to win between 11 and 13 seats, with PKR likely to secure one seat and
00:25the rest going to DAP.
00:27Ong said the BNPN electoral pact gives both coalitions an advantage by preventing a split in Malay votes, which had
00:35helped PH in several seats in previous elections.
00:39He said Malay's support for BNNPN could exceed 70%, allowing candidates from both coalitions to avoid competing for the same
00:46voter base.
00:48Under the pact, BNN is contesting 25 seats, while the past-led PNN is contesting the remaining 11, with no
00:55overlapping contests.
00:57PH is contesting all 36 seats on its own, while Bersatu is separately fielding candidates in 24 seats under its
01:04own logo.
01:05Ong also identified 10 closely contested seats that could determine the final outcome, including CHENA, where DAP Secretary-General Lok
01:14Siu-fuk is defending his seat against BN's CEO Kong Chun.
01:18He said PH's support in Negeri Sembilan had declined since 2018, when the coalition won 53% of the popular
01:26vote and 20 seats with Bersatu still part of PH.
