00:02A mass shooting at the Bight of Seattle Food Festival in Seattle left three people dead
00:08and at least four others, including a toddler, injured on Sunday evening.
00:13Police said one suspect has been arrested while another remains at large.
00:17They said one of the victims at the hospital did not survive the injuries,
00:20bringing the death toll to three.
00:23They said the four other injured victims in hospital were in stable condition.
00:27Reports said gunshots were heard at around 6 p.m.,
00:30with two individuals believed to have exchanged gunfire,
00:33while two weapons were recovered at the scene at the city's popular tourist district near the Space Needle.
00:40I was in the process of getting food, right?
00:42You know, we were all talking, having a good time,
00:43and next thing you know, you just hear a couple shots go off.
00:47And, like, in my head, I'm not thinking nothing of it,
00:49because, like, you know, at first I thought it was like some fireworks.
00:52Then I had to really see it and think, boom, they're shooting, shooting.
00:57So, like, I look, look around, see if it's, like, something serious.
01:00Boom, I see a crowd of people running in the background.
01:03So, boom, I took off.
01:05Next thing I know, it was just, everybody was running everywhere.
01:08People was falling over strollers.
01:10People was hiding.
01:11It was like everybody was fearing for their life.
01:12There was one volley, which we heard, and I don't know, multiple shots, but I can't say how many.
01:20And then a lot of people didn't react at first because we thought, oh, it must be firecrackers or something.
01:25I mean, nobody thought that it was dangerous.
01:26But then there was a second volley, and that's when we saw people storming through the area,
01:33across the Fisher Pavilion lawn, trying to get south and get out of the area.
01:39And so at that point, all my friends and I, we grabbed whatever equipment we had, our music equipment,
01:43and just started running because we felt like our lives could be in danger at that point.
01:47And it was, the crowd obviously knew something we didn't.
01:50So we reacted to the crowd around us and then ran out.
01:54Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson said what happened was an act of horrific violence,
01:58and the entire community is trying to understand how a gathering built around culture, connection, and joy ended in gunfire.
02:06The public have been urged to avoid the area as police officers continue their investigation into the incident.
