00:21National Institute of Circus Arts visitors tried their hand at some of their own stunts. It's one
00:27of more than 100 locations across the city welcoming the curious. The program aiming to share

00:41and people's connection to the places that they open up to the public it's really amazing. For the
00:48less acrobatically gifted a dual architect and owner of a house in St Kilda showcased his sustainable
00:54design well insulated and filled with recycled materials explaining why it's been officially
01:02labeled a passive house. It's designing a structure that will last a lot longer that'll be more
01:08comfortable for the occupant. You don't often get to see great architecture up close and especially
01:15when you can have the designers or the architects show you through. From a modern build to a historic
01:21Chinese church Gospel Hall Melbourne reminisced on its more than 150 year history.
01:28It's the first Chinese church built in Australia and ever since then it became a home for people away
01:37from home. Open house attracts thousands of people to some of Melbourne's most unique buildings over
01:43its July weekend festival each year but its future is uncertain with state government funding set to dry
01:50up after next year. We're really working with government to ensure our funding continues and I suppose we'll know
01:56a little bit more past the state election.
