00:00Hey guys, it's me, Jen, and I'm here with Refinery29.
00:03And as the days are shorter and the weather gets colder,
00:07I like my makeup to reflect that.
00:09So I'll be showing you how I create this really sparkly,
00:12metallic shadow for the wintertime.
00:18So I already have my base on, my foundation, my eyebrows,
00:21just to speed along the process.
00:23I'm going to go in with NYX's Jumbo Eye Pencil in Yogurt.
00:26I always do this as the first step.
00:28And I'm just going to line the inner corners of my eyes
00:31just to highlight it.
00:32So now I'm going to go into my Smashbox Full Exposure Palette,
00:35this beautiful shimmery champagne color.
00:38I'm just going to layer that on top of the base
00:40that we just applied.
00:42And now that the eyes are looking a lot brighter,
00:44I'm going to go in with another NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil.
00:47This one is in the color Slate.
00:48And you can be a little messy with this
00:50because we're going to smooth it out with the shadow later.
00:54Back to my palette and I'm going to go for this silvery metallic color.
00:59I'm going to pop that onto my eyeshadow brush
01:01and I'm going to layer it on top.
01:04Now we're going to blend it out because it looks a little splotchy.
01:08I know it's kind of weird using a warm tone with a cool tone.
01:11It's fine.
01:12It's just going to help blend in and make everything look more seamless.
01:16Now we're going to go in with an eyeliner.
01:19I'm using Kat Von D's Tattoo Liner and normally I don't like felt tips,
01:24but this one is particularly juicy so I enjoy using it.
01:28My tip on getting a really great cat eye is to just do some baby strokes
01:32as opposed to just doing one giant swoop.
01:36So now I'm going to intensify the look and I'm going to tightline the bottom lid.
01:40And this is just going to really make the eyes pop and make it more vampy.
01:45If you have really sparse and thin lashes like me,
01:48my Lancome Seals Booster is definitely a must.
01:51Once that's dry, I'm going to use my Aiko Black Magic Mascara.
01:56If you already have really long natural lashes already,
01:59you can leave the eye look like this.
02:01But I'm going to get a little extra help with my fake eyelashes from Ardell.
02:05These are the Demi lashes and I think that these just flatter my eye shape a lot.
02:10I'm just going to give them a couple squeezes with my Shuamura eyelash curler.
02:16The final step for the eyes is to give them a little pop.
02:20And I'm using Urban Decay's Heavy Metal and it's just a beautiful, super sparkly look
02:26that you apply to the inner corners of your eyes.
02:28Just adds a little Christmas twinkle.
02:31So now that the eyes are finished, it's time to chisel the face.
02:34I'm using Charlotte Tilbury's Foam Star Bronze and Glow.
02:38Really go into the hollows of the cheeks and just really define them.
02:41I'm going to use Tarte's Exposed Blush.
02:45I think this would suit any type of skin tone.
02:47And I'm just going to apply that on top of the apples of my cheeks.
02:50I'm going to go back to my Charlotte Tilbury palette and I'm going to use the highlighter
02:53to the top of my cheeks and a little bit on the nose.
02:57It just creates a nice little button effect on your nose and I think that's cute.
03:01For the lips, I'm going to go in for a nice nude shade.
03:03This is Gerard Cosmetics in Aphrodite and this is just going to make the eyes the focal point.
