Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation via a midnight video message on social media regarding the NEET paper leak controversy and anti-NEET protests. He announced that he had directed departments to prepare a draft for fast-track courts to handle paper leak cases with strict punishments. The draft was submitted to him late at night and is set to be discussed in the Cabinet the following day. After Cabinet suggestions, the bill will be finalized and introduced in Parliament during the second week of the session, with efforts to pass it as soon as possible. PM Modi acknowledged that paper leaks are not a trivial matter and cause immense pain to millions of students and their parents. He highlighted that in the past two and a half months, several steps were taken, culprits were arrested and jailed, and the government ensured that 22 lakh students could complete their exams quickly so that no student lost a year. Results were declared 56 days ago on the 19th, and students across the country have been celebrating their success.
