00:00Before we go, can we give you two awards in the Drag Race tradition?
00:03Yes, we!
00:04Miss Congeniality and Evan's Trade of the Season.
00:08Oh my god, thank you so much.
00:13Virtual Reality.
00:15Jason Seren and Brian Foss, host of Workroom Weekly.
00:19We're so excited to have you on Virtual Reality,
00:21because now you're kind of like part of the fam.
00:23Yes, thanks for adopting us.
00:24Oh my god, new YouTube.
00:26Make it happen.
00:28Wait, okay, we were gabbing before.
00:29We have All-Star Predictions.
00:31Yes.
00:31Okay.
00:32Okay, so All-Stars 11 is almost wrapping up.
00:35This has been a really fun season.
00:37Such a good season.
00:38We had the queens come in.
00:39We got to like interview them before the season got kicked off.
00:41That actually, before we get to the predictions,
00:43when the queens come to play,
00:45it really is, I feel like it's kind of like a whole Broadway production.
00:49Y'all turn the Page Six offices upside down.
00:52It's so funny.
00:53All of them.
00:54Yes, yeah, yeah.
00:54And they come in full drag.
00:56They're marching through the cubicles.
00:57It's so funny to see people being like,
00:59where do we work?
01:00What is this?
01:01Yeah.
01:02And from that, because I feel you always get kind of like ideas and vibes of people before,
01:07like when you see them on screen, on Instagram, everything like that.
01:09Yeah, who has a bad attitude coming in?
01:11And then you start to think they probably get eliminated early.
01:13Yeah.
01:14And I would say someone that I've been rooting for since she was originally on, you know,
01:18RuPaul's Drag Race, and I think she's been killing it, is Crystal Method.
01:21Okay.
01:22Crystal has like, you know, kind of the kooky clown.
01:25Yes.
01:25Like over the top, almost like Sesame Street on crack is her aesthetic.
01:29Yeah.
01:30And she was a little bit, you know, I would say done dirty because her finale was, originally
01:35it was during the pandemic.
01:36Oh.
01:36She had to do that on Zoom.
01:38Oh.
01:38And it was like awkward, and I think she should have maybe won that season and didn't.
01:42So I'm really rooting for Crystal Method this time around.
01:46Okay.
01:46Who are you rooting for?
01:47I mean, based on first impressions, when people came in, I was so gagged by Joey Jay.
01:53So Joey was a queen who, she came in and her whole brand was that she was a filler queen.
01:59Like she literally was like, you know, on Drag Race, you've got, you know, some fan favorites.
02:03Uh-huh.
02:03You've got people who, you know, based on their reputation in the local scene,
02:06people would be like, oh, there's someone to watch.
02:07And then you've got people, we call them the filler queens.
02:10Aww.
02:10And you know, not because of their plastics are dry.
02:12No, no, no, no.
02:13Because they're just filling the cast, mama.
02:15So, you know, some girls don't want to be called that, but Joey was someone who like,
02:18took that as a badge of pride and was like, I'm the filler queen, the filler queen's here.
02:22And Joey didn't make it that far on her original season.
02:25Okay.
02:25But she came back, and she came back with a vengeance.
02:29I mean, she came in when she was here at Page Six, and she looked like Victoria Beckham.
02:34She, this outfit was like, so stunning.
02:36Yes, herring bone, equestrian, it was so sexy.
02:40Oh, I love it.
02:41And also, Joey was sort of infamous for not wearing real wigs.
02:44Yeah.
02:45Short wigs, kind of looked like pink.
02:46Yeah.
02:47Okay.
02:47But then found something.
02:48I love a CVS.
02:49Found some inches, and it just suddenly looks so fishy and femme.
02:54And so in this season, in All Stars 11, didn't rack up initially a lot of points,
02:59but then got saved by the judges and brought into the semi-finals, because Joey Jay is just so charming.
03:05Yeah.
03:05Everyone loves Joey Jay.
03:06I love that there's always the pre-talk of, like, you hear around town, like, this person started to get
03:10a look at.
03:11Did you guys ever, like, from your years of watching Drag Race, was there ever a drag queen you were
03:15obsessed with?
03:15Like, either from your town or from the city, that you're like, oh, they're on the show now and it
03:19makes so much sense?
03:20Like, has that happened yet?
03:21Well, yeah, for me, like, Crystal Envy was that.
03:24Okay.
03:24So Crystal Envy was a Miss Paradise down in, you know, in Asbury Park.
03:28Yes!
03:28And, like, she just was, like, it's no surprise to me that she won Miss Congeniality on her season, but
03:34she looks like a Barbie doll, you know?
03:35And she's, like, she's so, like, pink and fun, and she's, like, and also very hot out of drag.
03:40Yeah.
03:41Like, are they the ones that, like, Dolores' makeup artist?
03:45Oh, who is that?
03:47I don't know.
03:47That is DT.
03:48I think, because someone from Jersey who is very hot, that I was like, I'm trying to remember.
03:52There's a couple Jersey queens that have been on the show, but, like, Crystal was, like, is so near and
03:56dear to my heart, you know?
03:57And so when she got on, it was like, duh.
04:00Of course.
04:01Yeah.
04:01And I feel like the New York City drag scene is so competitive, and it's so, it's the best of
04:06the best, that it's, like, you know, as just also fans of DT,
04:10drag who, we go to the clubs and, you know, support the girls.
04:13Yeah.
04:13Like, you're always like, ah, this girl needs to get on Drag Race.
04:16Aw.
04:16Like, we love it, you know?
04:17So, like, I think, for me, when Lana, Lana Jare got on, she was on season 17, she's a New
04:22York City queen.
04:23I remember going to her shows at, like, $3 bill, and she was just, she would always turn it out,
04:28and I was so happy when she finally got cast.
04:30She's like a Naomi Campbell.
04:32Yes, yes.
04:33Legs.
04:33Legs.
04:34Six foot five, like, just slinky, runway model.
04:37She doesn't have to dance.
04:38She just walks, and everyone just shuts up.
04:40Yeah.
04:40What was y'all's entry into Drag Race?
04:42Did you start with season one?
04:44I remember being aware of the show at season one.
04:46I remember watching it, like, on logo, you know, back when it was SD.
04:50Yeah.
04:50This is not HD era.
04:52That filter was crazy.
04:54The Vaseline on the lamp.
04:55Yes.
04:56Yeah.
04:56I don't know.
04:57I'm trying to remember when it turned for me.
04:59Maybe it was, like, season four.
05:00Was that Raja?
05:01Uh, no.
05:02Raja was three.
05:03So four, like, Sharon Needles era.
05:06Right.
05:07And then five was?
05:08Was, uh, Jinx.
05:09Jinx.
05:10Yeah, yeah.
05:10So we had some, I think there was a turning point around those early seasons that people
05:14just thought, wow, the talent is so good, you have to tune in.
05:17Yeah.
05:18And, you know, we were blessed with some queens that now are, like, veterans.
05:22I mean, you got the Bob the Drag Queen from the early years, and, yeah.
05:25And also you see them kind of thrive, like, in drag, the drag world, but kind of cross
05:31through that, like, pop culture, like, Bob, Jinx, all these people.
05:34How incredible is that to say?
05:35Yeah, I think Jinx Monsoon is the number one most famous, most successful, uh, alum of
05:41the show at this point.
05:42I would say so.
05:43I think, you know, I started watching, season six was my first, which was Bianca Del Rio's
05:49winning season.
05:50Oh, it's so good.
05:50And it's, like, I always have such a reverence for, like, those early seasons.
05:53Yeah.
05:53Like you said, like, the Jinx, the Bianca, the Bob.
05:57I feel like they, like, laid the foundation.
05:58And for me, it's always, like, that's where I remember, like, where I got my love for it.
06:02But it's also those early queens that have really, like, made a mark, you know?
06:06Yeah.
06:06Like, Jinx and, like.
06:07Yeah.
06:07Jinx is in O'Mary on Broadway.
06:09Yes.
06:09Jinx is now in the West End doing Judy Garland, you know?
06:13Yeah.
06:13Live on stage.
06:14Wow.
06:14Wait, but also it makes so much sense.
06:16Yes.
06:16Yeah, 100%.
06:17And it's cool because, like, she did a Judy Garland impersonation on Drag Race and then now she's doing it
06:22on the West End.
06:24Like, it's crazy to see how, like, Drag Race can, like, launch people's career in that way, which is really
06:28cool.
06:29Do you each have a favorite season of all time? For me, it's All-Star season two.
06:32Oh, it's the best.
06:33So good.
06:33It's the best.
06:34I mean, it's never gonna be tough. Like, it's, it's...
06:36I was gonna say Down Under season two.
06:38Get out of here, girl.
06:39Just kidding.
06:39That's the best one ever.
06:41Okay, but Down Under is coming back very soon, right?
06:44Yes.
06:44Okay.
06:44So, Down Under is getting a versus the world franchise.
06:48Okay.
06:48So we have kind of a shoot-off of Drag Race called versus the world where essentially a country will,
06:53like, host.
06:54So you'll have, like, UK versus the world, Down Under versus the world.
06:57So you'll have, like, maybe three or four girls from that home country and then girls from other international franchises
07:02will come.
07:03Yes, totally.
07:04Oh, totally.
07:05So it's cool.
07:05So, Down Under versus the world, they're getting their first season coming up.
07:09And we've got some of our favorites that have been flown in down and up.
07:13Yes.
07:13I don't know, do they film in New Zealand or Australia?
07:16Yeah, yeah, yeah.
07:16Where's the down?
07:17Yeah.
07:17Who knows?
07:18So we've got a couple of our favorite U.S. queens going.
07:21Speaking of makeup artists, Raven, one of the most famous drag queens.
07:24Oh, yes!
07:24Who is RuPaul's makeup artist, is competing on Down Under versus the world.
07:29Wow.
07:29And people are gagged by it because we haven't seen Raven in a...
07:32Since All Stars.
07:33All Stars won.
07:34Wow.
07:34This is a big return.
07:35Yes.
07:36A lot of people were online being like, this is, like, Rihanna returning to music.
07:39Like, this is, like, Raven coming up to Drag Race is, like, insane.
07:42Wait, does RuPaul host the Down Under?
07:44No, and that's the reason why a lot of people think this actually could happen is because Michelle Visage is
07:49the host of Down Under.
07:50So if Ru was hosting, I don't think, like, we could...
07:53There's a conflict of interest there.
07:54Yeah.
07:54But Ru is not involved, technically.
07:57So, you know, a lot of people, they say that she will actually be competing.
08:00A lot of people were like, is this just, like, a stunt?
08:02And, like, she's gonna be revealed as, like, a permanent judge.
08:05So we'll have to see, you know?
08:07Oh, wait.
08:07Also, we love our Michelle Visage.
08:08How is she as that?
08:08Because she's so great as a judge.
08:10Yes.
08:10And just, like, I watched, like, she did, like, a plastic surgery show on E.
08:14Yeah.
08:14She's such a fun host.
08:15How is she hosting, like, stepping into the RuPaul heels?
08:17It's so fun watching Michelle butt heads with La Roche.
08:22Yeah.
08:22Oh, my God.
08:23This has been sort of the story of in the past, you know, season or two.
08:26The two seem to disagree on everything.
08:29It's like, and I think La Roche is a bit of a hater, and I know it's come up on
08:33Project Runway as well,
08:35which is, like, right now Plain Jane, an alum of Drag Race, is on Project Runway.
08:39Oh, shit.
08:40And it's said, like, La Roche is a hater.
08:42Like, it's just gonna hate things just because everyone else likes it, which is hilarious because, you know, he works
08:47with the biggest stars in the world, you know?
08:49But I love seeing Michelle just, like, not stand down to him.
08:53Right.
08:54You know?
08:55Michelle's like, I hate green.
08:56He's like, I love green.
08:57Yeah.
08:58You know?
08:58She still hates, and there's certain shoes, and I am not a drag queen.
09:01I don't understand a lot of the minutia, but she'll be like, I can't believe you came out here with
09:05that chunky shoe.
09:06And I'm like, they need to dance.
09:08I don't know.
09:09Get them sneakers if they need it.
09:11Wait, does she still hate green?
09:12Yes.
09:13She still hates green.
09:13Do queens ever wear green?
09:15Because if I was a queen, I just would stay away from green altogether.
09:20Michelle has recently said she hates anything Mugler-inspired, which is, you know, it's been done.
09:26I was gonna say, it has been very oversaturated lately, so I understand where she, yeah.
09:30She recently said on All Stars that she doesn't want to see any motorcycle handles coming out of bras anymore.
09:35Yeah, that's like the Mugler look.
09:36The Mugler, which is, you know, we saw it with Gaga, you know, and I'm always gagged by it, and
09:41you're always like, we've seen this.
09:43And I'm like, it's so cool.
09:44There's like on Housewives and all the Housewives where the Mugler suits with the little slits.
09:48Yes.
09:49And it's like, this is now, because if everyone does it, it's not, totally.
09:52Yeah, it doesn't hit anymore.
09:53Yeah, I mean, we remember when, like, Gaga first did the meat dress and all the crazy outfits, and then
09:58right behind her was Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj.
10:01They were all like, I'm crazy too, and it just immediately seemed.
10:03And they're still showing it to this day.
10:04Yeah.
10:05A drag race tradition that I used to love was, like, the Night of a Thousand Madonnas.
10:09Have they transitioned to a new celebrity, or are they still doing Madonna?
10:13No, so they will, they'll often honor, you know, if they bring in, like, a pretty legendary guest judge, they
10:19will do a Night of a Thousand for them.
10:21So in All Stars, we got a Night of a Thousand LaToya Jacksons.
10:24Which, like, kind of crazy.
10:26Shut up.
10:27Kind of crazy.
10:28They were digging through the archives at Getty to be like, look at these looks.
10:32You know, literally.
10:33But LaToya was there, you know, it was so cool.
10:35They did recently also A Thousand Mileys, which was cute.
10:38Oh, that is cool.
10:39There were so many looks from that.
10:40But the LaToya, I, you know, RuPaul loves the Jackson family and is often referencing LaToya.
10:46So I think she, you know, LaToya had a music career.
10:49Like, you know, you forget it wasn't the most famous Jackson.
10:52But, you know, for, if you're growing up in the 80s, like, LaToya might have been your girl.
10:56She tried her best.
10:58Yeah.
10:58She really did.
10:59And that's what drag is all about.
11:00Yeah.
11:02That is so funny.
11:03A Night of a Thousand LaToy is crazy.
11:06And it's always funny with those Night of a Thousand challenges because, I guess, because
11:10of, like, legal aspects of the show, they have to source all the looks from, like, Getty
11:14images.
11:15Oh, wow.
11:15Or, like, so a lot of people will think, like...
11:17Yeah, war shows, red carpets.
11:18Yeah.
11:18So a lot of people will think, like, when, you know, we do, like, these big pop stars, they'd
11:22be like, why didn't they pull from, like, this music video or, like, this iconic
11:25thing.
11:26And it's, like, baby, we were scrolling through Getty and we're, like, you know, and that's
11:29where you get these, sometimes, like, super random, you know, selections.
11:32But it's iconic.
11:33Yeah.
11:34And also, that's the thing.
11:35It's, like, it makes it a competition, too.
11:36You're, like, you can't do, like, Can't Be Tamed.
11:38Yeah.
11:39You gotta do Miley staring like this.
11:40Yeah.
11:42That's so funny.
11:43Wait, okay, so Down Under premieres very soon.
11:46And All Stars is right about to wrap up.
11:48That's right.
11:49Everyone's being fed very much.
11:50Yeah, there's so much.
11:51I mean, Canada's All Stars is happening right now.
11:54Wow.
11:54That just kicked off.
11:56We're gonna get Latina Royale, which is, like, an all-international Latina queens coming
12:02from all ends of the earth, which is exciting.
12:04I mean, we did, like, a look-ahead video of, like, what to expect this year from Drag Race.
12:09And I think there's, like, ten franchises airing this year.
12:12Oh, my gosh.
12:13It's the WOW Plus Presents app?
12:14Yes.
12:15I mean, WOW Presents Plus app.
12:16Wow Presents Plus app.
12:17Yep, yep, yep.
12:17There you go.
12:18Yeah.
12:18Has all of these shows.
12:19Oh, my God.
12:20And we dived into the Slasian Royale in the Philippines.
12:26Oh, yeah.
12:26And it was so fun.
12:28And, you know, they're switching between English and, like, you know, the Filipino language.
12:32And I'm watching on the subtitles, and we got so addicted to it.
12:36And on YouTube, our audience was obsessed with it, too.
12:39Like, turns out, like, Workroom Weekly needs to go to the Philippines.
12:43Yes.
12:44We locked in.
12:45But the Filipino drag was so incredible.
12:48I mean, just these, the queens just brought next-level looks.
12:51What would you say is the best international iteration?
12:54Like, what's the top?
12:55I mean, I...
12:58UK has been going for a long time.
12:59Yes, that's, that's also one that Rue hosts.
13:01So, Rue hosts the U.S. and the U.K. franchises.
13:05So, that's definitely one that he loves.
13:06And Nikki Dahl was just here on the couch.
13:08We interviewed Nikki Dahl, the host of Drag Race France.
13:11When I went to Paris a few years ago, she was everywhere.
13:13Like, everywhere.
13:14There was all this signage for her.
13:16It was so cool to see.
13:16And, you know, we asked her about it, and she said, you know,
13:18I live in New York, but when I'm in Paris, I get stopped all the time.
13:22Wait, that's so fun.
13:22In New York, she's incognito.
13:24Yeah.
13:24Oh, that's kind of fun.
13:25Everyone needs attention.
13:26She has hops on a fly.
13:26Yeah, we're like, you're gay famous in New York, but you're famous famous in Paris.
13:29Famous famous in Paris.
13:29But she was saying her favorite is Spain.
13:31Oh, yes.
13:32She, she said that she loves Spain.
13:34I mean, I, the Asian countries really do it.
13:36Like we said, like the Philippines.
13:39Like, there is, drag is touching so many different points of the earth.
13:43And it's so cool, like, getting to watch and see how drag is interpreted in different places.
13:46They have a drag race Belgium.
13:48Yeah, yeah.
13:48I mean, we are getting,
13:49That place is this big.
13:50Literally, literally.
13:51We're getting into the weeds, you know.
13:53Oh my gosh.
13:53Wait, who would you say is like your drag race Mount Rushmore?
13:56Like, for each of y'all.
13:57I don't know who you're like, top four.
13:58We have to do this together.
14:00Can I throw Aquaria on there?
14:02I love Aquaria.
14:03Aquaria season 10 winner.
14:04She's a New York girl.
14:06She, she never lip synced that season.
14:08No.
14:08She just like, won one, one, one, one.
14:10She's just, she was the youngest winner ever when she won.
14:13Oh, shoot.
14:13And she's just so fierce and just good at everything.
14:16And she's so kind.
14:17Like, she's such a good person.
14:19Yeah.
14:19Also, like, love her.
14:20Now working DJ in New York and it's just always a blast.
14:22Yes.
14:22I'm gonna throw Aquaria up there.
14:24Um, I think, I have to vote Bianca Del Rio.
14:27Like I said, it was my first season.
14:28She's your gateway.
14:29And she was the gateway.
14:30And I think no other comedy queen touches her in the way that she does.
14:34Like, we've had like all winners seasons where winners will come back and compete.
14:37And I think Bianca is like one person who just like might never do that just because she
14:43has like established herself and truly is just like an icon in every sense of the word.
14:49Oh, gosh.
14:49Who else are we gonna throw on there?
14:51Do we put Jinx?
14:51We gotta put Jinx, right?
14:52Jinx has to be on there.
14:54Jinx won all winners.
14:55Pure talent.
14:56So when they did the all winners season, Jinx won that.
14:58So she technically is the queen of the queens.
15:01Like she is the mother.
15:02Okay.
15:03Um, who do you want to put for your last one?
15:05I mean, I feel like Bob should go on there.
15:08Yeah.
15:09But Mount Rushmore is very comedy queen heavy.
15:11Yes, I know.
15:12I know.
15:12That's good advice for future queens.
15:14Yeah.
15:15Yeah.
15:15Well, it's because you can, you know, you don't need to have the song or the specific,
15:20you know, you don't have to come out juggling.
15:21If you're a comedy queen, you can just do the show.
15:23And I do feel like that is like when I do see a drag show, I'm like, it is the
15:26comedy
15:26that always is making me.
15:27I'm like, this is just incredible.
15:28It's so funny.
15:28Yeah.
15:29Wait, and because all of the recaps and all of the fun interviews are going to be on virtual
15:32YouTube, which obviously you guys are here now, always checking it out.
15:35But before we let you guys go, you were talking about fun places to see drag.
15:38Where are your guys' favorite places to see drag in the city?
15:41Ooh, great question.
15:42Or in Jersey.
15:42Yeah, yeah.
15:43I love $3 bill.
15:44You know, it's a spitting distance from my house.
15:47It's, they have drag shows on the weekdays, on the weekends.
15:50They also do it in the backyard, you know, which is so fun.
15:53I mean, it looks like a blown out bomb shelter.
15:56And these queens just like, they look like it's the post-apocalyptic and they're just
16:01like serving on the backyard.
16:03I love $3 bill.
16:04Yeah.
16:05I was going to say the same thing.
16:07I thought you were going to say Paradise because of your-
16:10I do love Paradise.
16:11The Empress Hotel, Asbury Park, Paradise, tea is every Sunday, you know.
16:15The queens, the tradition down there is, and I've seen, I saw Silky do a belly flop in
16:22that pool.
16:23Thank God.
16:23If it's your first time performing at Paradise for tea, the queens have to go in the water.
16:28Yeah.
16:28And so you can kind of clock, you're looking at their outfit, you're like, is this waterproof?
16:31Are they secretly wearing a bathing suit?
16:33You're kind of like looking at the, and then they'll surprise you.
16:36They'll jump in.
16:36How is Silky Ganache doing?
16:38Is she thriving?
16:38She's good.
16:39So she's on this most recent season.
16:41Okay.
16:41She is still kicking along.
16:44Okay.
16:44She's, she's just a legend.
16:46She's one of those, this was her fourth time coming back to Drag Race, which, you know,
16:50the fandom has thoughts on that, but like, she is someone who truly is the gift that keeps
16:55on giving.
16:56She's so kind and I feel like-
16:58The Reverend Dr. Silky.
16:59The Reverend Dr. Silky.
16:59And honestly, more IMDb credits than all the other .
17:02That's what we say.
17:03And IMDb is lovely.
17:04Yes, exactly.
17:05I love that.
17:05I know.
17:06Oh my gosh.
17:06Thank you guys so much for like filling us in on all the, all the Drag Race team going
17:10Wait, before we go, can we give you two awards in the Drag Race tradition?
17:14Yes.
17:14Oh, yes.
17:15Miss Congeniality.
17:16Yes.
17:16And Evan's trade of the season.
17:18Oh my God.
17:19Thank you so much.
17:20Oh, that means everything.
17:22I love it.
17:22Oh my God, I'm screaming.
17:24Thank you guys so much.
17:24I am going to go get my award engraved somewhere.
17:27Yes.
17:28There's a scepter.
17:29Oh my God.
17:30There better be.
17:31I don't want to know what it's for.
17:36I don't know what the award for.
17:37I don't want to know what the awards do.
17:37I don't want to see it at all.
17:37But I am screwed it up really and I will get a picture, but I would get a picture with
17:38the
17:38This is again so early, they may not be difficult to give away money and how Nai 해 resort
