02:26and they revealed the top 10 over the course of the last couple weeks.

02:35in terms of the most guys in the top 10.
02:39And I think what's worth noting, a couple of things.
02:43They finished with six total.
02:45They had two other guys that were the first honorable mention.
02:49So, theoretically, they're just a vote or two away
02:52from having eight guys on this list.
02:55This is the other interesting part.
02:57The teams that are ahead of them.
02:59So, the Texans had six players named in the top 10
03:02at their respective positions.
03:03Third place, Chiefs, seven.

03:07Not a big surprise just based on the Chiefs roster
03:09over the course of the last few years.
03:11Eagles, eight.
03:12Eagles have always had a deep roster.
03:14Lions, nine.
03:16Nobody's drafted better over the last few years
03:18than the Detroit Lions.
03:20I think what's interesting is two of those three teams
03:23didn't make the playoffs last year.
03:25The Detroit Lions and the Kansas City Chiefs
03:28missed the postseason last year.
03:30That's interesting to me.

03:31I mean, the Chiefs, it's weird when people kind of just do
03:36the fly-by analysis of teams and everything.
03:39I think people almost talk about the Chiefs a little too casually
03:42as if Patrick Mahomes' injury is what did them in.

03:50of not making the playoffs before Pat Mahomes got injured.

04:29you know, Jalen Hurts finishes, what, 17th in the voting.
04:33And that, which, like, I understand exactly how people
04:36look at him.
04:37But you kind of forget the Eagles perennially, people,
04:40it feels like, oh, they're washed up.
04:42Oh, they won 12 games, did they?

04:45And yet, there they are every other year making a push
04:47for the Super Bowl.

04:50Okay, so the players that made it for the Texans,
04:53or that got mentioned in here, proper amount of respect,
04:56too much respect, or the dreaded D word, Seth, disrespect.
05:01Stingley finishing second at cornerback behind Patrick Sertan.
05:06Proper amount of respect, too much respect, disrespect.
05:09I think that's a, I think it's a proper amount of respect,
05:11partly just because, look, Sertan plays in a defense
05:14where they blitz a lot.
05:15The corners are playing man coverage a bunch.
05:18And you're always going to get more credit for that
05:20because you're put in that position.
05:22And that's a big part of why the defense works.
05:26So Stingley's almost, just by virtue of playing
05:28in a more balanced scheme, not saying that's better or worse,
05:31it's just a different philosophy,
05:33that I think Stingley could do exactly what Sertan does.
05:39He just doesn't have as many opportunities to do it.
05:41The most pass breakups in the last three years
05:43and the second most interceptions in the last three years.
05:46Number two overall is fine.
05:47Especially because of, Sertan's the first cornerback in, what,
05:5230 if it's a player of the year?
05:53Yeah.
05:53So it's hard to go ahead and say you're beating that guy.
05:55Yeah, I think, but consistently in any power ranking you look at it
05:58or anything, including this poll,
06:01it's typically Sertan number one, Stingley number two.

06:04And I'm cool, yeah, you kind of think about your all-pro squad,
06:08like, okay, that makes sense.
06:09Yeah, I'm fine with Derek Stingley being on my team.

06:17The interesting one at that position,
06:19Kamari Lasseter, the first one in honorable mention.
06:22Should Kamari Lasseter be a top ten cornerback
06:25in the eyes of evaluators around the world?
06:27I think he's, because he doesn't have quite the same overall skill set
06:33as a Sertan or a Derek Stingley.
06:35Like, people don't think of him as a pure cover corner.
06:38And, you know, going back to the DeAndre Hopkins discussion,
06:41it's a little bit atypical of what they think of as the premier type of guy
06:45that you want.
06:45He's always going to get knocked down a chunk.
06:48I think with one more year of performing at the level that he has,
06:51he'll be in the top ten next year.
06:53I do, too.
06:54It's weird, though, too, because you think about a young cornerback,
06:56and usually, okay, you're playing opposite of Derek Stingley,
06:59then you're going to get a lot more attention,
07:01and people are going to test you.
07:03And you should get credit for passing that test.
07:06I feel like it's kind of like they do with defensive ends,
07:10where they might say, well, look, yeah, he's a really good defensive end,
07:12but he's got another good pass rusher on the other side of him.
07:15You know, well, Daniil Hunter's good,
07:16but he's got Will Anderson on the other side.
07:18I feel like they're weirdly using that same psychology with Kamari Lasseter,
07:22except forgetting that, oh, wait, no,
07:24that actually makes it harder to get Kamari Lasseter.
07:26Although you can get help over the top more often
07:29when you've got a Derek Stingley on the other side.
07:33I really do.
07:34And the main reason why is because if you're going to use the logic of,
07:37well, because of a superstar cornerback's on one side,
07:40why are we giving that credit to Cooper DeGene,
07:42who made the top ten list?
07:44And I understand he can play everywhere.
07:45He lines up in the nickel.
07:46He can line up on the outside.
07:48But still, the way that you watch Kamari Lasseter play,
07:51I think it's more impactful to the Texans' defense
07:53than Cooper DeGene is to the Eagles' defense.
07:55I like him better than both of those Eagles' cornerbacks.

07:58I like Kamari Lasseter better than Quinion Mitchell and Cooper DeGene,
08:01and they're both consistently rated ahead of him in stuff like this.

08:11especially because Kamari's the opposite of Sauce Gardner
08:14in that Kamari cannot wait to come up and play the run and tackle

08:23but I want Kamari Lasseter any day of the week over Sauce Gardner.

08:29like, those last few weeks of the season when he was dealing with,
08:31what was it, a foot issue or ankle or something?
08:34It was lower body injury.
08:35Some sort of lower leg injury.
08:37He played through a lot of stuff, Kamari did.
08:39Do you guys have any issue with Will Anderson, third,

08:46Among edge defenders.
08:47This is a problem.
08:47This is what I didn't like about it.
08:48They classified it as edge rusher instead of edge defender,
08:52which is priming the brains of the voters in their thinking about pass rush,
08:57where I'm cool with Miles Garrett, then Micah Parsons, and Will Anderson,
09:00but if it's edge defender and you take the whole package into it,
09:05then I think that Will Anderson's better than Micah Parsons in that regard.

09:08So I don't like the way they pulled it.
09:13But you just said pass rusher, Micah Parsons over Will Anderson.

09:18No disrespect in my opinion.
09:19Yeah, and Hunter sixth.
09:22Hunter's getting more respect now out there as a Texan than he ever got as a Viking.
09:26I felt like I think he's number six.
09:29I'm totally fine with him at number six.
09:30But I felt like that this is the first time I've actually seen people giving the respect to Daniil Hunter.
09:35Yeah, they said that.
09:36They said it looked like a lifetime achievement award for Daniil Hunter
09:39because you look at it and you look at what he's most sacked since 2000,
09:43whatever, four years ago or so in the league.
09:46I think the part about Daniil, too, is that when he was in Minnesota, they blitzed a lot.
09:51And what that does is it creates opportunities for a guy that at times he's unblocked,
09:55at times he's going against a running back or a tight end.
09:58And I think now that he's in a scheme where he's more often just rushing against an offensive tackle
10:03and having to win one-on-one versus an offensive tackle, people respect that more.
10:08So, like, it's just even though he's playing opposite of Will Anderson and that, you know, like, yeah,
10:12they both help each other out.
10:14It's more of a conventional pass rush like Miles Garrett type scenario.
10:18Did you – okay, so the rest of these, we won't go through all of them,
10:21but Dalton Schultz also receiving votes.
10:24C.J. Stroud getting one vote.
10:27Aziz Alshair sixth among off-ball linebackers.
10:30Nico Collins eighth among wide receivers.
10:32And, again, if you're just tuning in, these are the – this is the voting that Jeremy Fowler conducted
10:37amongst executives, front office people, coaches, et cetera, around the league.
10:41Kalen Bullock, tenth among safeties.
10:44Jalen Petrie, honorable mention, first honorable mention among safeties.

12:22I feel like that Jalen Petrie is so versatile because, think about it, he's the only guy listed at that

12:29He's so valuable in run defense and playing defense and being against slot receivers and tight ends and how he's
12:35able to be physical at the line of scrimmage, the hit that we talk about.
12:38And it's like, if we're not going to go with slot defender categories, how is Nicky Manwari, one year of
12:45experience, better than Jalen Petrie at this point?
12:47Yeah, that's where –
12:49He played for the C.R.
12:50They should have a nickelback listed on here.
12:53Or a slot defender.

12:54Or even – the problem is you call a slot defender and people will classically go to the 190-pound,
13:00your third-best cornerback.
13:01So people do gene at that point.

13:04And guys are going to give more credit when they're in that mode of thinking about the actual cover guys.
13:08Whereas Petrie's much more of a nickel linebacker, nickelback guy who can come up and stop the run but also
13:14provide coverage.
13:16Yeah, they do need to – just like they do with edge defenders, they've got to start changing the nomenclature
13:21of some of these positions.
13:22What was funny is social media also took to that offense and they said if you watch Kalen Bullock play
13:26and Jalen Petrie play, there's no reason why Jalen Petrie should be behind Kalen Bullock.
13:31I'm curious what Texan fans feel like that.
13:33Like if you were to lose one of them – I mean they lost Petrie for three games last year,
13:36so you know what that looks like.
13:38Petrie feels like almost – Petrie almost feels like the harder one to replace because of the diversity of his
13:43skill set.

13:48think they could do everything they wanted to do with him
13:51because they had just – they didn't know who the other safety was at any given point.
13:55So there are times where, man, they might have wanted to be in single high safety and have Kalen Bullock

14:02but they just don't trust that other cornerback, so they're playing safer looks.
