00:00Trey Turner, as we know, has struggled.
00:02You talked about that earlier.
00:03What does his future look like here in Philly?
00:06His future as a shortstop has to be a topic.
00:11Don Mattingly shut it down as a topic for this year, but next winter?
00:16Ricky, how can they not think seriously about whether it's time to move him someplace else on the field?
00:22I think that place is center field or someplace in the outfield.
00:27You know, the issue right now is Trey is such a great athlete.
00:30He wants to play shortstop.
00:32He's actually on a Hall of Fame track as a shortstop if he stays there.
00:37But that's not the Phillies issue.
00:40The Phillies issue is can you win a World Series if you can't be sure a routine ground ball out
00:48is going to be an out in October?
00:51It's just hard to remember a team that won that way.
00:55When he came up his rookie year in Washington, he played almost exclusively center field down the stretch.
01:02I don't know if that's how it works out, but how would you guys handle this?
01:07Yeah, we talked a lot about this yesterday.
01:10I mean, we thought in the short term, I know you're saying they won't move him to the outfield in
01:14the middle of the season,
01:15but we were talking yesterday, does it make sense to flip-flop him with Stott at least right now down
01:21the stretch?
01:21He hasn't played any second base.
01:23Yes.
01:23I mean, that becomes a whole other issue.
01:25Yeah, Stott's played short, but you're right.
01:27What experience does Trey have at second?
01:29Can it get much worse than what he's giving you at short?
01:31Stott, it just, I mean, last night he was a great defensive shortstop and couldn't hit.
01:38So, his problem right now is not throwing the ball to first base.
01:44Like, when you have a shortstop who has issues making that throw, that's the kind of guy you move to
01:49second base.
01:51Trey's problem has been, there are games he looks like he's uncomfortable with the ball being hit to him.
01:57You know, so, it's, I don't, I don't think moving him to another place in the infield solves this problem.
