00:00How bad is this Phillies team at running the bases?
00:03Well, that was bad last night, Ricky.
00:06But, you know, in some ways it's kind of like the bullpen.
00:10It feels like this is a brutal base-running team.
00:13The data actually doesn't support that.
00:1635 outs on the bases was the number that Tom McCarthy repeated several times last night.
00:22It feels like a lot.
00:24Would you believe it's actually near the bottom of the sport?
00:28You know who else has made 35 outs on the bases?
00:31The fundamentally sound Brewers.
00:35You know how many outs the fundamentally sound Rays have made on the bases?
00:40Their next out will be their 50th.
00:43Wow.
00:44So, once again, if you're going to ask yourself, does reality match the perception?
00:51It doesn't.
00:53But, now that I'm done being the voice of reason and perspective, here's another thing that I always think when
01:02I watch these games right now.
01:04I ask myself, what if that had been a playoff game?
01:09And if that game last night had been a playoff game, that would have been disastrous.
01:15It would have been unacceptable.
01:17So, it's time to clean that up because every sloppy loss in October can be the loss that ends your
01:25season.
01:25So, it's time to clean that up because it's time to clean that up because it's time to clean that
01:25up because it's time to clean that up because it's time to clean that up because it's time to clean
01:25that up because it's time to clean that up because it's time to clean that up because it's time to
01:25clean that up because it's time to clean that up because it's time to clean that up because it's time
01:25to clean that up because it's time to clean that up because it's time to clean that up because it's
01:25time to clean that up because it's time to clean that up because it's time to clean that up because
01:26it's time to clean that up because it's time to clean that up because it's time to clean that up
01:26because it's time to clean that up because it's time to clean that up because it's time to clean that
01:26up because it's time to clean that up because it's time to clean that up because it's time to clean
01:26that up because it's time to clean that up because it's time
