Virtues of the Fasting Person (Rozadar ki Fazilat)
A detailed 10-minute explanation based on the Qur’an and authentic Hadith.

In this lecture, we are not merely discussing fasting as an act of worship. We are exploring the status, honor, and spiritual rank of the person who fasts sincerely for the sake of Allah.

Fasting (Sawm) is one of the five pillars of Islam, but beyond the act itself lies the elevated position of the fasting believer in the sight of Allah.

In this video, we cover:

• The special relationship between the fasting person and Allah
• The Hadith Qudsi: “Fasting is for Me, and I will reward it” (Sahih al-Bukhari & Sahih Muslim)
• The two unique joys promised to the fasting person
• The honor of the fasting person even in physical weakness
• Forgiveness of sins through sincere fasting in Ramadan
• Intercession of fasting on the Day of Judgment (Musnad Ahmad)
• The exclusive gate of Paradise — Ar-Rayyan
• Fasting as a shield from sin and Hellfire
• The development of patience (Sabr) and unlimited reward (Qur’an 39:10)
• Moral refinement and transformation of character

This lecture emphasizes that true virtue does not lie in hunger alone — it lies in spiritual transformation.

There are two types of fasting people:

One who gains hunger.
One who gains purification and elevation.

The real honor belongs to the one whose fasting:

• Increases humility
• Reduces sin
• Strengthens faith
• Softens the heart

Authentic references include:

Qur’an — Surah Al-Baqarah (2:183)
Qur’an — Surah Az-Zumar (39:10)
Sahih al-Bukhari
Sahih Muslim
Musnad Ahmad

This video is ideal for:

• Ramadan preparation
• Islamic reminders (Tazkiyah)
• Youth Islamic education
• Friday reflection
• Personal spiritual growth

May Allah grant us sincere fasting and accept it from us.

If you found this beneficial, share it so others may benefit.

Ameen.

00:07Today we discuss this fasting or psalm is more than just abstaining from food and drink from
00:13dawn until sunset. Allah says, O you who believe, fasting has been prescribed upon you, that you
00:19may become righteous. The primary goal is taqwa, building God consciousness and moral restraint
00:26through conscious obedience. True fasting is both external discipline and internal purification.
00:33It requires guarding the heart from sin. The prophet warned that if one does not leave false
00:38speech, Allah has no need of them leaving their food. Fasting is a shield and a spiritual reset,
00:44leading to the special gate in paradise called Arrayaan. Fasting is not starvation, it is
00:50transformation. It trains the soul to obey Allah, of the person who fasts sincerely.
00:55Allah says in a Hadith Qudsi, Every deed of the son of Adam is for him except fasting. It is
01:02for me
01:03and I will reward it. Unlike other acts, fasting is a private bond known only to Allah, fostering a
01:09unique level of sincerity. The prophet, peace be upon him, taught that the fasting person has two joys,
01:16one at iftar and one when meeting his Lord. Unique honors granted to those who fast for the sake of
01:22Allah. The prophet, peace be upon him, said, The smell from the mouth of a fasting person is more
01:28beloved to Allah than the fragrance of musk. Allah values your sincerity. Whoever fasts Ramadan with
01:36faith and seeking reward, his previous sins will be forgiven. It is a divine opportunity for
01:41purification. Fasting will even intercede for the believer on the day of judgment, saying,
01:47O Lord, I prevented him from desires, so allow me to intercede for him. Finally, paradise has a gate
01:53called Arrayan, through which only those who fast shall enter, a mark of distinction for the patient
01:59believers. The prophet said, Fasting is a shield. It protects us from immoral desires, sinful speech,
02:06and the fire of hell. But this shield is only as strong as our behavior. If someone insults you while
02:11you fast, simply respond, I am fasting. This is true emotional discipline. Fasting builds resilience
02:19over our hunger, anger, and desires, strengthening our willpower and our obedience to Allah. It is an
02:25act of intense patience or cyber. Allah says, Indeed, the patient will be given their reward without
02:31measure. True virtue lies in moral refinement, developing empathy. The prophet warned that Allah
02:37does not need us to leave food if we do not leave evil actions. Do not just gain hunger,
02:44gain transformation. A true fast increases humility, reduces sin, and softens the heart.
02:50May Allah make us among those who fast sincerely and are honored in both worlds. Ameen.
