00:06Ferrari's Formula One team has taken a strong step forward in 2026, with its smaller turbo
00:12proving a potent advantage at race starts, even though it has yet to secure a Grand Prix win
00:17from the opening trio. But in top sports car series, the World Endurance Championship,
00:23or WEC, Ferrari is the reigning champion of the elite hypercar class.
00:30And its season begins this month, and on Ferrari's home soil at Classic Track Imola, after the
00:35postponement of the original Qatar opener, due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
00:42Ferrari is bullish about again winning both titles, with the drivers secured last season
00:47by the number 51 car piloted by Alessandro Pierre Guidi, XF1 driver Antonio Giovinazzi, and James
00:54Collado, who also became the first British racer to win a world title in a Ferrari since John
01:01Surtees in 1964.
01:06Consistency, of course, is everything, and especially Le Mans. That's something that's really important
01:10to score points, because Le Mans is double points, and without anything there it's almost
01:16championship over. So we'll try and do again what we did last year.
01:21For Giovinazzi, it's not just a chance at another title for his beloved Ferrari,
01:25but to put the 499P car on hyperpol, with the XF1 driver from Martina Franca, the marks single lap specialist.
01:36Since last year, I started to do quali every race, and when you start to do everything,
01:42like same things in every race, you're just getting better and better. And I'm really happy
01:46with my resulting quali from last year. You know, I took the hyperpol in Qatar, straight away after in
01:52Imola. Good result in the rest of the season. So I think, yeah, just enjoy myself being that, let's say,
01:59pressure.
02:02In Ferrari's second car, number 50 will be Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina, and Nicolas Nielsen,
02:09whose sole victory came at last year's Qatar season opener, but finished third in the driver's
02:14standings after it was disqualified at Le Mans for a rear wing infringement. The squad, though,
02:21knows what it has to do. I think the aim for us for this season is obviously to improve on
02:28tracks like
02:28Fuji, Sao Paulo, where we struggle a bit more compared to the other tracks, and that's something
02:33that will always come with more experience.
