01:15trees and all that and then yet there were all these you know the town of middleton which is
01:20the one that's adjacent to madison where we were at it was uh it was kind of a cool looking
01:25downtown
01:25area they had there and lots of new construction new architecture up there just uh looked kind of
01:32cool so um what's the name of the casino that's got a million billboards right around madison
01:38i don't know okay you didn't see i don't pay attention to the casino stuff
01:41no not just it was like uh i did see that they were uh you know going through uh indiana
01:47in the
01:47chicago uh area crazy kaplan's fireworks yeah let me tell you something if you're gonna get your
01:55fireworks get them from from a guy named crazy with a k i'm just saying that's your guy the logo
02:05for crazy kaplan's with a k it's like a cartoon isn't it he's like a cartoon but the guy looks
02:10absolutely wired and he's hanging on to a firecracker for dear life i'm worried about it yeah

02:31other 15 firework stores that you'll see on the way um some proclaiming to the largest in the

03:03back one thing you missed was a chance to talk about the end of the world cup what is your

03:09on the end of the world cup so saturday was kind of like the the get together with with the
03:15family
03:15and we're hanging outside of a pavilion so you missed a soccer game that made last night's
03:21baseball game look tame right yes i i looked at my phone and i saw that was four nothing in
03:27halftime in the consolation game like well that's that's happening and then what ended up being with
03:32five to three was the final six four six four is the final like wow that's a that's a lot
03:36of goal
03:36scoring um obviously that uh france decided to play in the second half but not enough and then the final
03:44i was driving we drove back um we the first half we listened to the first half on the radio
03:51so um i didn't i didn't get a chance to i didn't watch any by the time we got to
03:55my brothers and i
03:56picked up my car i'm like yeah i'm just i'm not gonna stick around and watch want to get home
03:59to the
03:59dog uh and plus i didn't have power uh or or cable at that point uh either because of the
04:06storm
04:06apparently wind had knocked it out at my house over the weekend but as far as my interest i was
04:12i found
04:13this crazy that our drive back was was mostly dominated by listening to coverage of the british
04:19open yeah and then the soccer game yeah like very like very little music on the way back the way
04:27there was all music way back not so much we're like hey british opens on let's let's listen to that
04:31was it the bbc feed by chance yeah so you heard there were a lot of i don't know if

04:37maybe in pga but there were a lot of english announcers irish announcers and then there was an
04:43american announcer who i thought was horrible actually really yeah because i'm like where
04:47is the ball is it did leave it if you left it short is it how short is it and
04:51that he wasn't giving us
04:52any any information i said to my brother it must be a tv guy because radio guy's gonna tell you

04:58otherwise hearing the the irish people talk about the yeah i bought this up is what a bother buddy it

05:38seen the numbers yet on the on the viewership for for sunday's final i imagine it was through the
05:42roof three billion i have no idea i just a big number i mean the number has to be if

05:50we saw with americans playing in the game in the in the earlier rounds were like peaking at 40
05:57million do you think that i would imagine the final had to go past 50 million
06:04uh telemundo's numbers are in and peacock spanish language numbers are in but i am not seeing
06:11they're on fox yet no no they should because the viewership was through the roof and and obviously
06:18they were able to sell the games i mean that was a big talk going into it's right remember how
06:22expensive it was and then they had to bring the prices down what all was said and done the buy

06:27price for the final was like 11 000 uh and actually that was those were the uh the the face

06:35was up to 25 000 people were getting in resale for an 11 000 ticket selling it for 25 grand
06:44congratulations if you were able to find somebody to buy it and they would work because it was
06:47obviously packed yeah and uh so the next two world cup venues are decided i doubt they'll come back to
06:53us in 2038 it would seem like a rather quick turnaround but by all accounts this was this was
07:01a healthy uh event in terms of attendance i think most people had a pretty positive attitude about it
07:07here our listeners seem to embrace it a little bit it does bring out something that i absolutely love
07:13and that is all of us giving our opinions i think that soccer guy must
07:22be rolling their eyes like crazy oh yeah at world cup opinions
07:29but this is this happens in more than just with more than just soccer guy we do this with the
07:34olympics yeah i mean gymnastics yeah parachute in and and you know you're not the real fan but
07:42you're you're going to give an opinion because you're watching it now yeah and i think with soccer
07:46it's the diehard soccer fan that they're rolling their eyes at at the rest of us it's because they've
07:52adapted it as and adopted i should say they've adopted it um an understanding for what it is it's
07:59a european sport and a south american sport it's the rest of the world's sport it's not the united
08:04states is nowhere near the popularity but they'll accept everything that goes on because that's just how
08:09it's done everywhere else the people like us who will tune in every four years to watch the world
08:15cup if the united states is relevant in any in any way possible we'll watch it and we'll we'll want
08:21to well how do we change it to make it we immediately complain we immediately complain about offside
08:26right which why do we have in this var system why is this red card so damn punitive why aren't
08:32they
08:32doing more to police the amount of flopping that's going on and like everybody else has already
08:38accepted it like that's it's their game and now we want them to conform to what we want to watch
08:43which i recognize that i think it is kind of funny that's why i don't take it too seriously because
08:48i'm not you know we do our best we do our best to be realistic and at the same times
08:54we're actively
08:55invalidating our own opinions yes however with that said are you an expert in some sport like soccer
09:04or gymnastics or horse racing or f1 and you just crack up when you hear commoners talk about your
09:12sport are you a lawyer are you a police officer are you a doctor that when you hear things you
09:20just
09:21cringe and what are some of those things so if you have a field of expertise it sometimes happens to
09:29me gator like i'll be at a tiger game sitting in the stands and there'll be some blowhard who thinks
09:35they know everything about baseball and they're they're clearly their group is listening to them
09:38and i'm like oh my god this is their authority and he does not know this game at all it
09:44cracks me up a
09:45little bit i keep my mouth shut but do you are you with an authority in something like soccer
09:52or something that's not sports related and just find it hysterical when people parachute in and give
