Key Insights from the Episode Prioritize Employee Dignity: Avoid public criticism or making staff feel ashamed, as harsh treatment drives immediate employee turnover. Extend Active Empathy: Counteract heavy competition regarding salaries, locations, and schedules by creating a supportive, emotionally intelligent workplace. Intervene with Compassion: Step in personally when an employee is having a bad day to offer support, which can prevent impulsive resignations. Watch Richard Blank explain how empathy and dignity directly combat the high turnover rates in the call center industry

00:00So then I went the opposite way.
00:02I started contributing on online forms, not the podcast.
00:08I was way before that, but I was doing, I don't know, articles and form posts and just
00:16doing certain contributions to other types of sites that might generate organic SEO for
00:25specific landing pages that I have that might rank me.
00:28And so for a small company of just 150 men, I was on page one in Costa Rica just by,
00:35just
00:36by, just by panning for gold.
00:39I was still getting my ounce, but damn it, I was breaking my back, but, but it was working.

00:47And, and so my strategy, I didn't have $10,000 a month budgets for marketing.
00:53I had to do it a different way.
00:55Sometimes it was the old school canvassing where people would knock on doors or set
00:59up, set up a little table at the town square.
01:02And so sometimes you need to be resourceful and creative and just sell your lemonade and
01:08you'll see who comes by and then you just take it from there.
01:11And that's usually how the biggest stories happen, you know?
