00:20This is the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio and I'm driving it in one of the best road rallies
00:25in Australia the Targa Classica right here in Albury NSW. The Targa Classica isn't just about speed
00:32it's also about the joy of driving it's the celebration of the best road cars ever made
00:36and for me there's no better way to experience this than with the Alfa Romeo Giulia. This isn't
00:42just a car that you experience it's a car that you feel and today we're going to do that by
00:45taking it
00:46on the road on the track I'm going to show you a walk around of the car the inside I'm
00:50going to
00:50take you along and show you this italian masterpiece and why it is the perfect car
00:55to drive in something like the Targa Classica but before we hit the road we have to talk about how
01:08gorgeous this car looks is this not the best looking sedan money can buy come around the front
01:16these new updated daytime running lights look so mean I mean you would not want to see this car
01:22in your rear view mirror but there's also a lot of function over this beauty we've got carbon fiber
01:28front splitter carbon fiber side skirts and then it continues on the roof and at the back a lovely
01:34little carbon fiber rear lip spoiler and can we take a moment for the back of this car it's so
01:40aggressive
01:41with this huge real rear diffuser and the quad exhaust pipes that give you the most magnificent
01:48italian sound
01:55oh and I forgot there's one more massive piece of carbon fiber which you can see while you're driving
02:00actually the entire thing is carbon fiber I don't know if you can see that but it is so insanely
02:07lightweight there's also a 2.9 liter twin turbo v6 sitting under here with 375 kilowatts of power so
02:15it's just chilling I'm going to show you that later we'll talk about it more in the driving impressions
02:19but then there's this the quadrifoglio the four-leaf clover you'll see it on the side of so many alpha
02:24Emmaus to symbolize these are the special ones it harks back to racing heritage a legacy and so much more
02:33and today this badge still represents the best of Alfa Romeo it's a sign that this car isn't just
02:39about the numbers it's about passion and the joy of driving now let's jump inside because if the
02:44exterior is all about passion and good looks then the interior is good looks with control it puts you
02:50in control with some key features and when you jump inside the first thing that you realize is how
02:56comfortable these carbon fiber bucket seats are they're not too aggressive they're good enough to keep you
03:01nice and comfortable in the seat then you're greeted by a red start engine stop engine button when you
03:08turn it on one of the best looking uh driver's displays in front of you and then you realize
03:13how much carbon fiber is in the interior of this car as well it's not just on the exterior hidden

03:17paint like the bonnet got exposed carbon fiber up here on the dashboard which catches your eye
03:22every single time you're driving you still see that carbon fiber bonnet in front of you the carbon
03:27fiber center console actually a good amount of storage in here i've been keeping my cameras in
03:31here all weekend as you can see wireless charger big cup holders big enough for a good size water
03:38bottle enough usbc ports and functional climate control buttons which i really like the infotainment
03:44screen is the right size they haven't chucked a massive tablet up here on the dashboard you still
03:49get apple carplay and yeah it's a really nice place to see a lot of functional buttons
03:53and the driving position and outlook is just one of the best oh and i have to mention the head

03:59you're not going to smash your head when you put a helmet on which we might find out
04:02later in this video it's a really comfortable place to sit and i'm looking forward to doing
04:07some big k's today so i reckon we get on the road
04:32so to start this it's um pretty cool we're in a park uh just near albury and we're going to
04:39line up with car number 146 of i don't know see 156 over there 158 some pretty cool cars in
04:48this
04:48class we're sort of in the modern car class the alpha definitely feels at home which is cool
04:55it's not always that it feels like that away we go starting target classica in the car park
05:15so now we're in the car and the target classica as an event it's all about precision it's actually
05:21not like speed it's a little bit different to your target tasmanias and other events like that around
05:27the world it runs off an event in italy and it's timed against precision so you don't have to worry
05:33about
05:34going crazy berserk all the time of course you can have fun but everything is well within the rules
05:40and the speed limits i might add because this is australia after all and that's why this
05:45alfa rama julia is so perfect for an event like this because it is so precise
05:53the first thing you notice when you get behind the wheel of the car is just how good the steering
05:58is it
05:58honestly shocked me when i picked this car up earlier in the week i was like man the steering
06:03in this car is just so direct it gives you so much feedback it's fast and responsive but it's not
06:11too
06:11fast it's not going to jolt the passenger around it's not going to make you uncomfortable as a driver
06:17it's just precise it's the right amount sort of perfect i would say and then there's the suspension
06:23which is customizable through some of the drive modes so when you're on a vent like the target
06:28classic you want to drive it around in dynamic you might even flick it into race mode and there's a
06:33little button on the drive selector that lets you press it and soften the ride which is an alfa rama
06:41staple
06:42it's even in cars like the tenale and it makes the ride so comfortable on these back roads on typical
06:48australian back roads where they're not always going to be perfect sometimes they're going to be a little
06:52bit bumpy but this car is just perfect for it we've been following some other cars on this trip
06:58some of this car's competitors and all i can think about is how much their backs must hurt because
07:05they're stiff this car is stiff and direct but it's not stiff through the chassis and the suspension
07:10like it feels tight but it doesn't beat you up which is really nice it's a great balance speaking of
07:16balance 50 50 weight distribution in this car which is remarkable honestly for a sedan like this
07:23obviously those carbon fiber parts play a bit of a important role in that or a big important role in
07:30that but it's more than that it's the design of the car it's the chassis it's so good under the
07:35skin
07:36the things you can't see that make this car so well balanced from the steering to the suspension
07:44and then there's the weight and the weight plays into that balance as well 1600 kilos just over 1600
07:50kilos should i say and that's pretty remarkable for a car in 2025 i don't i'm driving a car in
07:562025
07:57that doesn't weigh two tons it's shocking 1600 kilos i mean i can think of some two-door
08:03lightweight sports cars that weigh around about the same as this and it feels like it it feels light it
08:10feels sharp on its toes it always feels like it's sitting on the tarmac and gripping it versus just
08:17rubbing itself in and trying for grip and it feels planted which is another element of that 50 50 weight
08:24distribution the combination of that steering and the suspension and the weight can we talk about the
08:29view quickly i mean we've been driving around this is the second half of the day and it looks like

08:37postcard everywhere you look just looks like a postcard out the window is just a painting the
08:44postcard i don't know it's just amazing like the scenery is insane i didn't even know there were roads
08:48like this in australia like i know about victorian high country roads but this is something else you do
08:56have to contest with these things though you ready big trucks like yeah watch out and then when the roads
09:04open up a little bit you can explore all of that 2.9 liter v6 twin turbocharged engine 375 kilowatts
09:15it's
09:16a lot 502 ish horsepower for the yanks 600 newton meters of torque and it's all being sent to the
09:23rear
09:24wheels only by an eight-speed gearbox that shifts quickly
09:36it's this engine is basically they won't necessarily tell it to but it's essentially a
09:43ferrari california v8 that they've locked two cylinders off and truth be told i think it might
09:48even sound better than that car it has the perfect blend of raspiness and throatiness and then it
09:56kicks down and it's just listen to that listen to that
10:04and when you add this engine to this suspension with this steering you end up with a car that's not
10:12clinical this is not a car that's all about the numbers of course the numbers are
10:16outstanding and they jump off the page but it's a car that you connect with but there's only so much
10:22you can learn about a car on the street and the best place to figure out what a car can
10:27really do
10:28is on the track and thankfully the target classico is not just about beautiful road drives it's also
10:33about track time so they've included a little bit of a track session for us and i'd love to take
10:39guys along and figure out what this car can really do so i've got up my performance gauges here
10:45on the entertainment screen and there are some rules today because we're not running helmets so we
10:50have to stay under a certain speed and you can't go nuts and you definitely don't want to be the
10:56person that uh shunts it now alpha julia on the track so i've put it into race mode which tightens
11:06everything up and i've put the suspension
11:11in its stiffest setting and this eight-speed gearbox already is really impressing me and this track is
11:18too super fast and flowing
11:24perfectly suited to this car and wow that suspension when it's stiff
11:30is great in race mode everything pretty much switches off it's just you in the car
11:36the exhaust gets louder and that limited slip diff starts doing its magic
11:44and the brakes very strong through this double apex
11:53fighting for grip but it's got it
11:57and that engine just sounds so good steering is so sharp
12:03this is so much fun i never thought i'd be doing a road drive and then ending it
12:07with a track day session
12:15at the 100 board or that a-speed it plays ball even on the track
12:24and that's it across the line wow so much fun how cool is that you get to do a track
12:29lap
12:30after all this great road driving in a car like this makes it extra special
12:37what a drive and what an experience we've just pushed the alpha julia quadrifoglio across some of
12:42the best driving roads in australia roads that i've never driven before and i've been doing this
12:47for a little while you can probably see the smile on my face about what this event has done and
12:51what
12:51this car has done it is delivered at every single turn and proven that that quadrifoglio logo on the
12:57side of it still means something very special i think from doing this event what i've realized is
13:02the target classica isn't just about speed and precision it's a culmination of all these things
13:08but the most important thing is having fun in a car like this that keeps you engaged along the whole
13:14journey the alfa romeo julia is fast yes it has over 500 horsepower but it's also perfectly balanced
13:21with a 50 50 weight distribution and that 2.9 liter twin turbo v6 just sings along during the whole
13:27entire journey it's also comfortable i think that's one thing that's really stood out to me on this road
13:32drive is just how you can dial that suspension back when you're in the sportier modes and save your
13:37pack along the way and it just encourages you to keep on driving this isn't just a great sports sedan
13:43it's one of the best drivers cars on the planet and today it's proven that that four leaf clover on
