00:00Yes, it's just a soap opera, but many times for the story to happen, let's say the writers
00:06create situations that make any detail-oriented person's hair stand on end, and to be honest,
00:13I find it really annoying when someone comments,
00:15that's why it's a soap opera, not a documentary, so what? I think it's super fun to comment on
00:22these soap opera gems, and no, that doesn't mean I hate soap operas. Many people think that those
00:28of us who watch soap operas don't have the right to have something called a critical sense,
00:32and that we should just accept everything we watch without questioning it. But, well,
00:37if you don't like this type of video, you can move on to the next one.
00:41The most irresponsible doctor in the world in Maria la del Barrio. What can we say about this
00:47doctor who only appears once or twice in the soap opera, but is already one of those responsible
00:53for creating the biggest tragedy in the story? We're so used to blaming Luis Fernando that we
00:59don't even realize this doctor, seeing the state of this woman who had just given birth,
01:04discharged her and let her leave the maternity hospital carrying a newborn. Does someone need
01:10to be a doctor to notice that there's something very wrong with this patient? People, she's visibly
01:15a nervous wreck. She couldn't even put two syllables together to speak properly. So what should this
01:21doctor have done? Called social services. Anything other than letting a woman in the middle of a
01:27breakdown leave carrying her baby.
01:332. The jeans birth in Cuidado con el Angel. This gem is already a big classic, right? This soap opera
01:40actually has so many gems that if I were to talk about all of them, I'd have to make a
01:45video just
01:46about it. But I'll talk about the most absurd one. The scene where Ana Julia has her baby who looks
01:52more like Chucky's son without even taking off the jeans she was wearing. Oh, but did you want them
01:57to show her naked? Of course not, right? But they could at least have implied that Mari Chewie took
02:03them off and avoided letting the camera catch that area. They could have varied the character's
02:08wardrobe once so she was wearing a skirt or a dress. Anything other than trying to make the audience
02:13look stupid. After all, even Tiffany, a doll, was wearing a dress when she had her baby in one of
02:19the most absurd movies ever made. Esmeralda only wears green. I know there's a reason within the
02:26narrative for using certain colors in a character's wardrobe to highlight traits of their personality.
02:32But even though it was a resource widely used in older soap operas, I have to say that in Esmeralda's
02:38case, they went a bit overboard. Even Paulina varied from time to time and wore blue, a little green,
02:47or white. By the way, that woman knew how to dress, because even though she was almost always in pink,
02:53she was synonymous with elegance and good taste. There's an even more absurd case, but I let it
02:59slide because they took it in a humorous direction. Mystica, the villain from Maria Mercedes, who only had
03:05her classic little black dress with pink gloves, and only magically changed her outfit when she went
03:11riding her motorcycle. The whole situation made her look like a Barbie. But Esmeralda, besides never
03:18leaving green, a color that I already think flatters very few people, also dressed very badly. Once, I saw
03:25someone commenting that the costume designer must have hated Letitia Calderon, and honestly, I wouldn't
03:31doubt it. Esmeralda's characterization was so bad that it even made her look older compared to the
03:37other young women in the telenovela. Oh, but what if she just liked wearing green? Actually, it was a bit
03:43more complex, because first, when she couldn't even see, all the clothes she received were green. In the
03:49soap operas, they even commented that Maria wore many donated clothes when she was poor, including from
03:55Florcita. But have you ever seen Florcita wearing anything even remotely similar to those green
04:01ladies' smocks that Esmeralda wore? Imagine someone separating clothes to donate to Esmeralda and
04:07thinking, ah, this one is still new, but it's not green. And then, when she became a Peña Real, it
04:13got
04:13even worse. Her mother was going to buy her a party dress? It had to be green. By the way,
04:18here she was
04:19doing cosplay of a cheap fake Barbie from the corner store, in that horrible dress. And when her mother
04:25went to buy her wedding trousseau in Europe, she brought everything in green. I think they just
04:30didn't make her hospital uniform entirely green, but yes, it had green details. Anyway, I know this
04:36soap opera has a more fantastical vibe, but the wardrobe is absurd, that's for sure.
04:424. The crazy timeline in Teresa
04:44The universities in the soap opera Teresa were really out of this world, huh? Because Murano
04:50already had the diploma in his hands even before the graduation ceremony. Even after graduation,
04:56the university still takes a while to issue the diploma, right? Not to mention the heartthrob photo
05:01they put on a medical diploma.
05:06But that's nothing compared to the gossip magazines about celebrities, which managed to put the edition
05:12on the newsstands while the scene was still happening, and they hadn't even gotten out of the pool yet.
05:20And I can't fail to give an honorable mention to this pregnancy test painted with red highlighter.
05:26Was it too hard to find a pregnant woman to do a real test?
05:30Maybe, but notice that there was no need to show the test.
05:33It would have been enough for the characters to look at it and say the result.
05:405. Ruby's fall
05:42Have you noticed how strange the tragic fall of the protagonist, as beautiful as she was dangerous, was?
05:50Supposedly, she lost her balance while screaming like a crazy at Alejandro on the building stairs.
05:55But if we look at the height of the handrail, and also consider that she was holding on with both
06:00hands,
06:00the only way she could have managed to fall from there would be with a jump, a push from behind,
06:06or if she had lifted both of her feet off the ground and was balancing her body weight only with
06:10her hands.
06:15Since I don't believe that was the case, I'd say this accident defied the laws of physics.
06:22And it could have been created in a thousand different ways, so I can't let it slide.
06:28Well, but I'll leave this list here.
06:30Remind me of more soap opera absurdities in the comments so I can make more videos like this.
