00:06Welcome to Mojo Plays and today I'm pausing my playthrough of Kingdom Hearts 2 after playing
00:11Kingdom Hearts and Chain of Memories and before playing Birth by Sleep, Dream Drop Distance
00:15and Kingdom Hearts 3 to discuss everything I still don't know. These are 10 questions
00:19we need answered in Kingdom Hearts 4. Before we continue, we publish content all week long,
00:25so be sure to subscribe and ring the bell to get notified of our latest videos.
00:30What's in the box?
00:32We are not here for you. I have my own business to attend to. All I need to know is
00:39if there
00:39is a distinctive black box somewhere in this world.
00:45The black box has been teasing Kingdom Hearts fans for years, yet we still have absolutely
00:50no idea what's actually inside. First introduced in Kingdom Hearts Key back cover, the mysterious
00:55chest has been passed around by characters whose stories stretch back centuries, if not
00:59longer. Then, Kingdom Hearts 3 made things even more suspicious by having Maleficent and
01:04Pete spend part of their adventures searching for it, only for Luxu to reveal he'd had it
01:08all along. Naturally, the game ends before anyone opens the thing. Classic Kingdom Hearts.
01:12At this point, nobody even knows whether the contents are world changing or surprisingly ordinary,
01:17making the black box one of the series' biggest unanswered mysteries heading into Kingdom
01:21Hearts 4.
01:24I hope you like long stories.
01:29D-Mix, Larkson, Luxord, and Marluxia.
01:32Nice way to greet your old partner in crime.
01:35Although several former Organization XIII members return in Kingdom Hearts 3, most of them don't get
01:40much time in the spotlight. D-Mix especially spends most of the game looking like he accidentally
01:45wandered into the wrong entry. Despite their smaller roles, Xemnas drops an intriguing detail by
01:50revealing they were originally chosen because of their connection to Keyblades.
01:54Thanks to Kingdom Hearts Unioned Key, we already know a little about Marluxia and Luxene's past,
01:59but the full story is still missing. D-Mix and Luxord are even bigger mysteries,
02:03with almost nothing confirmed about who they were before joining the Organization.
02:07Hopefully, Kingdom Hearts 4 finally gives these overlooked characters
02:10the attention and backstory they've been teasing for years.
02:13The first six members of the original organization were all apprentices to Ansem the Wise.
02:20Who is the Lost Master?
02:26Right from the reveal, Kingdom Hearts 4 makes it clear that the series is turning the page.
02:31Before the trailer even begins, the words The Lost Master Arc appear, signalling the start of an
02:36entirely new chapter rather than simply continuing the previous storyline. While the events of Kingdom
02:41Arts 3 Remind DLC and Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory help bridge the gap, sidebar, I hate the way
02:47lore is dispersed in this series, Square Enix has confirmed this marks the end of the Dark Seeker
02:51saga, which revolved around Xehanort. Instead, the focus now shifts towards a fresh mystery. The title
02:57almost certainly points to the Master of Masters, a mysterious figure who has quietly become one of
03:02the most important characters in the franchise's sprawling lore, even if plenty of players barely know who he is yet.
03:14The Master of Masters, Luxu and the Foretellers
03:17So that makes you the indisposable number seven.
03:26Huh. Come on, it's simple. You six plus me is seven.
03:32Speaking of, ever since Kingdom Hearts Key back cover, The Master of Masters has felt like the person secretly
03:38pulling the strings behind almost everything. We still don't know who he really is, but his motivations
03:43are an even bigger mystery than his identity. Somehow, he possesses knowledge of future events,
03:48and even helped guide Xehanort towards the role he would eventually play, suggesting countless moments
03:53throughout the series happened because he wanted them to. The obvious question is, why? Whatever his true
03:58objective is, he's been incredibly patient. The same mystery surrounds Luxu and the recently
04:03returned Foretellers. Are they still loyal to their old master, or have their goals changed over time?
04:09Hopefully, Kingdom Hearts 4 finally starts answering these long-standing questions,
04:13instead of releasing a browser-based game in two years that answers these questions while asking 17 more.
04:26Who are those two guys on the skyscraper?
04:32No series loves mysterious figures in black coats quite like Kingdom Hearts. At this point,
04:38they're practically as inevitable as Goofy. The cloaked character, calmly standing with their hands
04:43behind their back, is widely believed to be the Master of Masters, who looks set to become a
04:47central figure in Kingdom Hearts 4 and the entire Lost Master arc. The second hooded person, however,
04:52is far harder to pin down. Since Luxu's true identity was finally revealed in Kingdom Hearts 3,
04:58fans have been left wondering whether this is a brand new apprentice, an Organization XIII member whose
05:03past is still unexplored, or simply another mystery Square Enix is keeping under wraps until my
05:09previously mentioned browser-based game releases Kingdom Hearts 3D PTV DTF Underscore Key.
05:19Strelitzia.
05:21Hello?
05:23Good day.
05:25Oh, cool! You can talk!
05:28One of the biggest surprises in the reveal trailer for Kingdom Hearts 4 is the girl who welcomes Sora to
05:33the Quadratum. If you've only played the console games, there's a good chance you had absolutely no
05:38idea who she was. That character is Strelitzia, an important figure from Kingdom Hearts Union Key.
05:43Long before Sora's adventure, she was chosen to become one of the new leaders who has succeeded the
05:48foretellers, but her story was cut tragically short when she was killed before taking on that role.
05:52She's also the sister of Lorium, who later became Organization XIII's Marlucia. Her appearance in
05:57Quadratum raises some huge questions about death, alternate realities, and what it actually means to
06:02exist in the ever-confusing world of Kingdom Hearts.
06:05Can you find me?
06:07Good. You have to believe.
06:11Believe? Oh, you mean know in my heart he will return without any proof?
06:18The Forest
06:25The Forest shown in the Kingdom Hearts 4 reveal doesn't have an official location yet,
06:29but its realistic style immediately stands out. It matches the grounded look of Quadratum and hints
06:35that the sequel could lean further into lifelike environments, especially with Square Enix developing
06:39the game in Unreal Engine 5. That has naturally fuelled speculations about which Disney properties
06:44might appear. The biggest theory is Star Wars, thanks to a brief shot that many fans believe
06:50shows the foot of an AT-ST hidden among towering trees that resemble Endor's forests. It's hardly
06:55definitive proof, but it's enough to get the internet buzzing. Since Disney now owns both Lucasfilms and
07:00Marvel, fans have wanted these worlds for years. Tetsuya Nomura previously explained that licensing
07:06agreements made these crossovers difficult, even under Disney's umbrella. With those hurdles potentially
07:11resolved and Kingdom Hearts 3 already introducing Pixar worlds for the first time, many players are
07:16hoping the next adventure finally delivers a galaxy far, far away. And maybe even that long requested
07:22lightsaber Keyblade. God yes, that would be good.
07:31Who is Subject X?
07:32Her disappearance was why I put a stop to the research.
07:36One of the biggest mysteries still hanging over the series is the identity of Subject X.
07:41We know she was a young girl who became the victim of Xehanort's experiments, but beyond that,
07:45the clues are frustratingly vague. Pieces of her story are scattered throughout Xehanort's reports,
07:50while Lee and Ice's history reveals they once tried to rescue her in Radiant Gardens,
07:54before somehow ending up as Axel and Seix within Organization XIII instead.
07:59Exactly how that dramatic change happened has never been properly explained. Fans have spent years
08:04debating whether Subject X is actually Strelitzia, Skold or someone else entirely, but nothing has been
08:10confirmed. With so many unanswered questions tied to her, Kingdom Hearts 4 feels like the perfect
08:14opportunity to finally reveal the truth.
08:17Just watch.
08:20Where are Donald and Goofy?
08:25Although Quadratom has a far more realistic look than anything we've seen before in the series,
08:30Kingdom Hearts 4 isn't leaving Disney's classic style behind. Donald and Goofy appear at the end
08:34of the trailer looking exactly as fans would expect, wandering through a dark location while searching
08:39for someone who's almost certainly Sora. Their search is interrupted by a mysterious voice surrounded
08:44by a blue glow that suddenly shifts to red, startling both of them before the trailer cuts to black.
08:49Most fans believe the speaker is Hades, who has appeared in every numbered Kingdom Hearts game so
08:54far. Considering the sequel seems heavily focused on death, the afterlife and travelling between different
09:00realities the ruler of the underworld would be a fitting character to bring back. It also reassures
09:05fans that even if the series explores more realistic settings, and possibly worlds like Star Wars,
09:10there will still be plenty of room for a colourful Disney charm that has always defined Kingdom Hearts.
09:20What is Unreality?
09:35The reveal trailer for Kingdom Hearts 4 introduces Quadratom, but it leaves players with far more
09:41questions than answers. We know it's a city inspired by a real location in Japan, and that it exists
09:47within something called Unreality, a realm described as a world of fiction. That's a wonderfully confusing
09:52concept for a series that was already confusing enough. Since both Sora and Strelitzia end up there,
09:58many players have wondered if Quadratom functions as a kind of afterlife. If that's true, could familiar
10:03faces like Erykus or even Xehanort appear again? The trailer also hints that Quadratom isn't the
10:08only world within Unreality, opening the door to countless possibilities. Hopefully future trailers
10:13start filling in some of these enormous blanks before the game finally arrives, mainly because I
10:17absolutely can't wait. Did you enjoy this video? Check out these other clips from MojoPlays. Be sure to
