00:37Transformers The Game
00:47Lands on this list because it fundamentally failed to capture that high-octane excitement
00:52of the live-action movie it was tying into. While piloting hulking robotic behemoths through
00:57crazy destructible environments sounds amazing on paper, the experience was quickly ruined
01:03by clunky, frustrating controls and repetitive mission structures. Combat often devolved
01:08into mindless button-mashing, and the camera angles regularly got stuck behind buildings
01:12during intense fights. Ultimately, it felt like a rushed movie tie-in that valued Hollywood
01:17spectacle over polished, rewarding gameplay. Could've been fun, but nope.
01:29Transformers Beast Wars Transmetals
01:39This Nintendo 64 and PlayStation, utter letdown of a game is widely considered one of the worst
01:45entries in the franchise due to its wonky, unresponsive, unintuitive controls and painfully
01:50slow gameplay. No, a Transformers game shouldn't be slow and boring. The fighting game mechanics
01:56failed to capture the thrilling excitement of the popular animated series, turning potentially
02:01epic Transformers battles into frustrating sluggish chores that you just check off a list, rather
02:06than have fun with. Furthermore, the blocky, uninspired graphics and repetitive grading audio design
02:12quickly irritated even the most dedicated fans.
02:16Vehicle mode!
02:18Vehicle mode!
02:21Ahhhh!
02:22Transformers Battle to Save the Earth
02:30This 1980s game earned its abysmal reputation by trapping players in a confusing menu-driven simulation,
02:38rather than, you know, just letting them freely control the iconic robots. Why? I don't know,
02:43I have no earthly idea, honestly. Instead of engaging in engaging action, fans were forced
02:48to stare at an ugly text-heavy map, and rapidly just click through menus to defend various global
02:53sectors from Decepticon raids. I mean, what kid doesn't love that, right? Yay, so fun.
03:00The severe lack of actual animation meant that battles were resolved through abstract stat
03:05screens rather than dynamic combat visuals, completely stripping the beloved Generation
03:101 characters of their personality. It kind of reduced the epic war for Cybertron into a
03:15tedious, stressful workload that felt more like filing your taxes than fighting giant robots.
03:20Yes, even as a Commodore 64 game, it should have been so much more.
03:31Transformers Age of Extinction The Official Game
03:41Transformers Age of Extinction The Official Game
03:44Gosh, again, what a mouthful, is heavily criticized as a major low point for this franchise,
03:49because it reduced a cinematic blockbuster into a generic, repetitive mobile endless runner.
03:55Instead of offering an immersive open world or deep combat, which mobile games can certainly
04:00have, mind you, the gameplay forced players down a rigid, automated path where they could
04:05only swipe to slash enemies or tap to shoot. Of course, microtransaction paywall's heavily
04:10restricted progression, forcing players to either grind endlessly or pay real money just to unlock
04:16basic upgrades and characters. By swapping out the thrill of giant robot combat for some
04:21uninspired, swipe-heavy mobile loops, this one wasn't a Hollywood thrill ride so much as
04:26a cynical, uninspired waste of time.

04:42Transformers The Headmasters
04:51Stripped of the core mechanic that defines this entire franchise, Transformers The Headmasters, from ye olden days of
04:581987, the year I was born, for the Famicom Disk System infamously forbids players from transforming at will, lame sauce.
05:08By isolating the gameplay into rigid, automated vehicle autoscrollers and some incredibly tedious, repetitive
05:15underground maze rooms, this Japanese exclusive quickly exhausts the patience of even the most dedicated players out there.
05:21And to make matters worse, almost every unlockable character is lazily designed, with the exact same visual sprite in robot
05:29mode, while combat itself is bogged down by stiff
05:31floating controls and an agonizing lack of basic rapid fire. It's honestly just a legendary disappointment that failed to capture
05:38the hearts and attention of eager Transformers fans out there.
05:49Transformers Cybertron Adventures
05:59So imagine, if you will, being stripped of all control as your awesome looking Transformer moves completely on its own.
06:06That, of course, is the frustrating reality of the Wii exclusive Transformers Cybertron Adventures, which ditches free roaming action to
06:14just trap players on a strictly linear automated rail shooter trek.
06:18Yes, I know the Wii had many lackluster games like this, but come on, this is Transformers we are talking
06:24about.
06:24Where's the bombast? The high octane fun? Anything? You know, where is it?
06:28Well, this baffling design choice turns what should be an epic cosmic war into a passive repetitive shooting gallery, where
06:36you merely aim at crosshair, and poorly at that.
06:39Worse yet, fighting the game's erratic Wii motion controls makes blasting enemies an inaccurate arm tiring chore.
06:45I'm just gonna go back over to Wii Sports, thank you very much.
06:48You can do this, let's go.
06:56Transformers Galactic Trials
07:05So what happens when a franchise about shape-shifting robotic creation tries to awkwardly fuse an arcade kart racer with
07:14a third-person shooter?
07:15Well, you get 2024's Transformers Galactic Trials, a fundamentally broken concept where neither genre is executed well enough to be
07:23enjoyable.
07:24Sad, indeed, since honestly this could be a cool concept, at least in theory.
07:28The driving mechanics suffer from aggressive, unfair AI rubber banding that routinely robs you of well-deserved victories.
07:36While the mandatory foot combat segments feel completely ruined by sluggish controls and devastating framerate drops, ugh.
07:42To pull the emergency brake on any remaining fun the title might have, this game completely lacks proper online multiplayer,
07:49and locks out its iconic roster behind hours and hours of tedious repetitive single-player grinding.
07:55Yeah, just skip this one.
07:59Continue.
08:05Transformers Rise of the Dark Spark
08:13Serving as a sort of bizarre forced crossover that clumsily stitches together High Moon Studios' cybernetic universe with Michael Bay's
08:21cinematic franchise,
08:23Transformers Rise of the Dark Spark is a textbook example of a lazy sequel through and through.
08:28Instead of innovating, this disappointing follow-up lazily recycles animations, enemy types, and multiplayer maps from its superior predecessor, Fall
08:37of Cybertron,
08:38while offering a remarkably dull and incoherent story.
08:41The visual presentation takes a massive step backwards, with muddy, washed-out textures, which is further aggravated by a complete
08:49absence of the beloved Escalation co-op mode at launch.
08:52Simply put, it discarded the passion of the previous games to deliver a painfully uninspired buggy cash-in that left
08:59fans feeling thoroughly cheated with little fun to be had here.
09:19A foolproof lesson in terrible first-generation 3D game design, this disaster of a Transformers game for the PlayStation and
09:27PC subjected players to an ugly, blocky world, plagued by an upsetting camera system,
09:32and an unbearable draw distance. Trying to control the Maximals and Predacons kinda just felt like steering shopping carts through
09:40molasses, but less fun than that, as the tank-like movement made navigating the empty textured polygons an absolute nightmare.
09:47The gameplay loop was further ruined by an unforgiving energy mechanic that constantly forced characters to retreat into hiding just
09:55to recharge, completely draining the title of any action-packed pacing.
09:59This one stands out as an agonizingly clunky relic that stripped all the fun and personality out of the hit
10:05CGI television show.
10:07Beast Wars? More like Bad Wars. Ha ha. Ah, got em. Yay.
10:22Mystery of Convoy
10:30Few gaming experiences out there can match the sheer, unadulterated brutality of Transformers Mystery of Convoy for the Famicom,
10:39a title so infamous for its punishing pixel-perfect difficulty and complete lack of fun.
10:44Players control Ultra Magnus, only to find themselves instantly annihilated by tiny microscopic enemy bullets
10:51that just fly across the screen faster than the human eye can actually track.
10:55Because you explode from a single hit and are plagued by infinite aggressive enemy spawns,
11:00just simply surviving the first 10 seconds of the opening stage feels like an impossible achievement.
11:05This legendary piece of terrible video game creations fundamentally broke the boundary between a fun challenge and psychological torture,
11:13cementing its status as the absolute pinnacle of worst games of the entire franchise.
11:25So, do you agree with our picks for this list?
