00:00New Instagram live from T. Grizzly in prison just went viral and is worrying everyone.
00:04Whispers are now circulating that he was responsible for the murder of his aunt and
00:07longtime manager, Jobena Brown. Yeah, you heard that right. Word on the street is that the first
00:12day out hitmaker had allegedly gotten his aunt pregnant and ordered a hit on her following an
00:16argument over his assets and music rights. The news got netizens buzzing with questions and
00:21everyone had more than a thing to say. Ain't no way that man did all that when she died and
00:25her whole time it was him, a netizen voiced out, referring to Grizzly's posts when his
00:29aunt died. T. Grizzly a foul n***h, punching your uncle's wife who's also your manager,
00:34then smoked her, another netizen commented. T. Grizzly's aunt, Jobena Brown, was fatally shot
00:39on the night of August 20, 2019 in Detroit, Michigan. According to reports, JB was seated
00:44in the back seat of a black Chrysler 300 along with T. Grizzly and a driver. However, she became
00:50the victim of shots fired by an unknown assailant when Grizzly came down from the car. Detroit
00:54police reported that JB was shot eight times and later died at a hospital. From Grizzly's
00:59perspective, the shooting had happened after they had just wrapped up a studio session and
01:03went to go visit his cousin. JB opted to stay inside the car because the house wasn't clean
01:07to her, despite the rapper begging her to come in with him. He claimed he stepped out of the
01:11car and went to the house without him, and as he knocked at the door, waiting to be let
01:15in, he heard multiple gunshots. His aunt died shortly after in the hospital, and although
01:19the rapper had no idea who was responsible at the time, he felt like he was meant to be the
01:23target of the fatal shooting. Grizzly and the whole world got to know the perpetrator
01:27of the crime when a man named Jermaine Whedon, allegedly linked with Chicago's 600 crew, was
01:33charged in October 2021 for the murder of Jobena Brown. However, just days into Whedon's ongoing
01:39trial, his defense team alleged that it was Grizzly who arranged the hit on his aunt, throwing
01:43off everything internet folks thought they knew about the case. People were quick to point out
01:47that since T. Grizzly claimed his aunt was the only person he trusted, he had handed over
01:51his assets and music rights for her to manage, and when she didn't want to hand them back,
01:55he had to kill her. Although no statements from the authorities have been made concerning
01:59the rumors and allegations, netizens were sure it was only a matter of time before the Detroit-born
02:03rapper was back in jail. Well, this wouldn't be Grizzly's first rodeo in prison. T. Grizzly
02:08was first arrested in 2014 while a student at Michigan State University for a series of robberies,
02:13stealing approximately $20,000 in cash and electronics from dormitories. He and a friend escaped to Kentucky,
02:19where they attempted a smash and grab robbery at a jewelry store in Lexington but were arrested.
02:23Grizzly was extradited to Michigan and charged with two counts of second-degree home invasion
02:28for the robberies and sentenced to 18 months to 15 years in prison. He served approximately 18 months
02:34in St. Louis Correctional Facility and Jackson State Prison before he was released on parole in
02:39October 2016. This was when the rapper released his debut song. His family members have also seen
02:44the four walls of prison. The rapper's mother, Layota Perry, was recently released from a 15-year
02:49sentence for drug trafficking in 2020. Grizzly's brother, Marcellus Wallace, was also released
02:54recently after serving five years for robbery. It's safe to say Grizzly's no stranger to adversity,
02:59but if the rumors are proven to be true, his career and reputation might not recover from this.
03:03The rapper's response to the rumors is that they're completely false, but netizens are waiting
03:07till the trial concludes to make up their minds.
