00:09On January 6th, 2026, Daniel Hernandez, the rapper known as 6ix9ine, surrendered to federal
00:15authorities at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. He was sentenced to three months
00:20behind bars for violating the terms of his supervised release. That supervised release
00:24was tied to his 2019 federal racketeering case, the one where he testified against members of
00:30the nine Trey Gangsta Bloods in exchange for a reduced sentence. He had been on supervised release
00:36since April 2020, and it was just months away from expiring when everything fell apart. So what
00:40happened? Before he turned himself in, 6ix9ine did a live stream with Aden Ross and told the story.
00:46He said a former close friend and worker fell out with him. That person then went to federal
00:50authorities and told them 6ix9ine had drugs and guns in his Florida home. Agents executed a search
00:55warrant on the residents. They reportedly found a firearm and three ecstasy pills. He was also found
01:00with cocaine. On top of that, there was a mall incident. 6ix9ine said he was shopping with his
01:04girlfriend and his stepson when a man approached him and said he would kill him, calling him a rat.
01:09That led to a physical confrontation. Both the drug possession and the mall altercation counted as
01:14violations of his supervised release. He pleaded guilty in late 2025 and was sentenced in December
01:19to 90 days. Now here is where it gets interesting. The facility he was sent to, MDC Brooklyn, is not
01:25just any jail. A former warden of that facility once called it a far cry from anything luxurious.
01:31Judges have described the conditions there as something close to unbearable, with complaints
01:35about violence, staffing issues, and a history of lockdowns. But what made this stint unusual is who
01:41else was locked up there. Nicolas Maduro, the former president of Venezuela, was being held at MDC Brooklyn
01:47after the U.S. military extracted him from his country. Luigi Mangione, the man accused of killing
01:52the UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in December 2024, was also being held at the same facility.
01:586ix9ine was aware of this before he even walked in. He posted a video on social media saying he was
02:03about to meet the president of Venezuela and Luigi. He said he had that luck of just being locked up

02:09presidents. Referencing his previous time at the facility when he was housed alongside Diddy,
02:13the former president of Honduras, and Sam Bankman Freid. His attorney confirmed that 6ix9ine was
02:19expected to be segregated from general population. That is standard for someone with his profile,
02:24especially someone who cooperated with the government. Being segregated placed him in the
02:28same section as other high-profile inmates, including Maduro. And apparently, they did interact.
02:33Because when 6ix9ine walked out of prison on the morning of April 3rd, 2026, he was holding a
02:38SpongeBob doll. He showed it to the camera and said that Maduro had signed it with the date April 2nd
02:43written on it. That doll, which he calls Sponge9, became the focal point of his release video and
02:49went viral immediately. Whether people believe the signature is real or not, the story spread
02:53everywhere. His release was confirmed by his attorney, Lance Lazaro, and the Federal Bureau of
02:58Prisons. In the footage, he walks out of the facility, greets friends, and gets into a waiting SUV.
03:03Right there on the spot, a representative from Vobara, Miami, a celebrity jeweler, hands him a
03:08chain. The piece was described as nearly 400 carats and weighed over 4 pounds. 6ix9ine captioned his
03:14Instagram post, claiming the chain cost over $2.2 million. So after 90 days inside one of the most
03:20talked about federal jails in America, 6ix9ine is back out. He served his time in protective custody,
03:25alongside world leaders and accused killers. Came out holding a SpongeBob toy, signed by a former
03:30president and put on a multi-million dollar chain before he even left the parking lot.
