00:00Network School founder Balaji Srinivasan has been urged not to play the victim card
00:05but to treat the recent controversy involving the tech commune as an opportunity to grow.
00:11Small and Medium Enterprises Association of Malaysia, President William Ng, said
00:15he sympathized with Srinivasan having seen NS's rapid rise.
00:20However, he urged Srinivasan to turn the setback into an opportunity.
00:25Ng said Srinivasan was right to raise concerns over the anonymous complaints that landed NS in difficulty.
00:33He said many Malaysian companies have been harmed by online trolls,
00:37citing in particular boycott campaigns that wrongly linked certain businesses to political issues.
00:44Ng, however, remarked that Malaysia was consistently engaged with high-impact investors.
00:49His remarks followed scrutiny into claims that Israeli nationals were linked to the commune,
00:55having allegedly entered the country using second-country passports.
00:59Immigration officials, however, have since confirmed that all 266 foreign participants had valid documents.
01:09Srinivasan said Network School would pause further Malaysian investments,
01:12despite having spent more than 100 million ringgit in Forest City with a 500 million ringgit expansion planned.
