'It was catastrophic': residents bemoan flooding in central Belgium

Workers and residents in central Belgium take part in a big clean up operation after heavy rainfall triggered flooding in the province of Namur, such as in Jemeppe-sur-Sambre. “It was catastrophic," says Alice, a resident affected by the flooding. "It was a disaster. We were paralysed because, in the end, there was nothing more we could do. We just had to wait for it to pass.”
