'Everything is gone': Residents in northern Thailand grapple with flood aftermath

Persistent heavy rain in northern Thailand has triggered severe flash floods and river overflows, forcing residents across Nan province to evacuate. As waters recede and recovery efforts begin, many are returning home to assess the damage. "Everything is gone," says Tone Boonkam, one local resident. "I’m completely broke, left with nothing. It has never been like this before." The floods killed two people on Wednesday, according to the authorities.
