00:24In an incredible weekend
00:28sa nagdaang Philippine Athletics Championships
00:30sa New Clark City.
00:34Muling nabawi ng Athletics Olympian
00:37na si Lauren Hoffman,
00:38ang trono bilang top female hurdler
00:41sa bansa.
00:43Dalawang kategorya
00:44ang dinomina ni Lauren.
00:46Code sa 400-meter hurdles
00:48at sa 100-meter hurdles.
00:54Beating out reigning
00:56SEA Games champ from Indonesia.
00:58Na si Dina Olia.
01:03It was exciting.
01:04A win is never a given.
01:07Where I knew she'd get out on me
01:08and I'd have to chase her down
01:09with each hurdle.
01:10So I was able to just kind of reel her in
01:12and then just cross the finish line before her.
01:18A literal force on the track.
01:20Dahil 2023 lang
01:22nang mapabilang sa Philippine team si Lauren.
01:24Pero sunod-sunod niyang nilampasan
01:26ang national record sa Athletics.
01:28Currently holding
01:30five national records under her belt.
01:33Kabilang ang outdoor 100-meter
01:35at 400-meter hurdles.
01:37Indoor 60-meter hurdles.
01:39At indoor 400 at 600-meter dash.
01:44It's a game of trying to beat your old self.
01:46There is pressure
01:46but I also just want to see
01:47how far I can take it
01:48and how fast I can go.
01:54Born and raised
01:54sa Virginia, United States.
01:56Ang 27-year-old track star.
01:59I started running 5Ks first
02:01when I was like in elementary school.
02:03Eighth grade is when I learned how to hurdle
02:04and I fell in love with it.
02:06I have a lot of
02:06Filipino role models in my life.
02:08My Lola was one of them
02:09and my mom.
02:10Because of them,
02:11I'm able to do
02:11what I get to do today.
02:15Tapos manalo
02:16ng dalawang bronze medals
02:17sa 2025 C Games.
02:20Pinagahandaan na ni Lauren
02:21ang Asian Games this year.
02:23Pati ang goal
02:24na makabalik
02:24sa Olympic stage
02:25sa 2028.
02:27I'm just proud of myself
02:28for like sticking with it
02:29and showing up
02:30even when the days are hard,
02:31when things are challenging.
02:32I'm just proud of myself
02:33for this year to already be back in the 56s
02:35even though it's been like a long journey
02:36from the Olympics.
02:37So we're just working on more speed,
02:38more fitness
02:39and hopefully back in the 55s soon.
02:46So when you're going into the hurdle,
02:47you have a cut step,
02:48you have a lead leg
02:49and you have a trail leg.
02:51So your lead leg will come down
02:53and then you'll put your arm through,
02:55trail leg comes down
02:55and it pushes you to the next hurdle.
02:57So you want to kind of
02:58keep your arms a little bit tighter.
03:02Yes!
03:09You did it!
03:11You did it!
03:12The adrenaline and muscles
03:13are different when you're working here
03:15when you're in the hurdles
03:16because you're not just sprinting.
03:20What you're working on here
03:22is form, technique,
03:24efficiency when you're running
03:25and you're hurdling.
03:27There you have it na kapuso.
03:28So today, we got to meet
03:30our Olympian hurdler,
03:31Lauren Hoffman.
03:32Also got to try hurdling
03:34for the very first time.
03:36It's very difficult
03:36so I believe na believe
03:37ko ako sa kanila.
03:39So, this has been
03:40Martin Avier.
03:41I'm Lauren Hoffman.
03:42Keeping you
03:43in the game!
