Australia is grappling with shortage of child psychiatrists with a new report forecasting a shortfall of 230 full-time clinicians in two years. The report, by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, says the biggest gap will be in Western Australia. Professor Val-Samma Eapen is the RANZCP chair of the faculty of child and adult psychiatrists. She says the sector is struggling to keep up with growing demand.
