04:08again trade down end up with keon coleman there's a faction in this fan base who resented that from
04:15the beginning that with all the all the headaches the chiefs have you know forced on the bills why are
04:21we talking why are we taking their calls but and then worthy at the end of the season he had
04:28the big
04:28super bowl you know eventually in that game he mattered against the bills in the afc championship
04:34that year as well but what what is he at this point like coleman i think a lot of bills

04:40have already written off coleman um are chiefs fans ready to do that no they're not ready to write
04:46up worthy yet now i think there's still a lot of hidden hope um with a guy like that and

04:51largely because of the speed stuff he hasn't been way better than coleman to be clear like
04:56statistically he's been around a 600 yard wide receiver he hasn't had his breakout um season yet
05:03or moment i tend to wait on every position's a little different for me wide receiver i tend to
05:08give at least year three before i start making some decisions on it and that we're putting some of the
05:14foot of the blame on where it is last year it's easy to just blame injuries travis kelsey knocked him
05:19out for weeks and weeks and weeks and then after that he was just never quite the same and so
05:25like i i still think there's some hope there but i thought by now we'd know he was like jalen

06:35seattle to you does he constitute a philosophical change in the chief's offense now i mean look andy
06:43changes but he doesn't feel a side he doesn't like change his whole life this is what was the one
06:49of the more interesting things i think about signing him is he has mostly been an under center
06:53running back and uh the chiefs primarily don't run under center so what gives and i still think
07:01it'll be kenneth walker adjusting to theirs largely because that's just how they've done it for a huge
07:06majority but even in the year kareem hunt led the nfl in rushing his rookie season in kansas city with
07:12andy reed with patrick holmes now in a year that patrick holmes also threw for 50 touchdowns and
07:165 000 yards but they didn't run more than the average team they will still throw in the top 10
07:23percent in all of the nfl they will still i think run rpos and run out of center i think
07:28they'll run
07:29less of it and they'll be more reliant on one back but i actually don't think their run scheme is

07:35to change a ton i think part of why they wanted walker though is to protect they might run more

10:02i actually for the first time in a long time care about a couple of these like heavy hitter regular
10:07season matchups as a okay kind of where are you it doesn't mean they can't lose to the bills
10:12in buffalo there's no shame in that right i mean that that's a that's a normal law people do it
10:17but yeah all the time it's not you know that's normal that place will be rocking on thanksgiving it'll
10:22be loud it's not an easy place to play but it's also like kind of where is their team against
10:28those
10:28and we'll have a pretty good idea of kind of where they are because it'll be around thanksgiving time
10:33but i still view it as like a real test of is this a team that's going to go back
10:36to the playoffs or a
10:37team that is immediately back into contending for super bowls and maybe the bills at some point
10:43probably can't care as much about regular season wins against the chiefs either because and that's the
10:47thing that's so so crazy about the bills is they finally didn't have mahomes and then josh allen had the
10:51worst game of his career like and so the timing of it is bad but it is weird to have
10:57a team dominate
10:58you like that in the regular season and then not do it in the postseason and the best i can

11:02out is in the postseason andy reed had an extra gear that sean mcdermott didn't i'm not going to
11:08put that on josh allen he played great in pretty much every playoff game against the chiefs but
11:11maybe mcdermott didn't or didn't have a unique enough plan and andy did i have such a tough time
11:17trying to like build arguments and conversations about what the bills need to do differently
11:24like another gear or just even one more play call i mean it's that fourth down play two years ago

11:30it's the the blitz the heavy blitz from the one side and allen sort of rolls into the pressure
11:35heaves it up kincaid i guess drops it but still like that's a desperation pass and whether it's a
11:42gear or a single moment it makes it tough to sit here for the next nine months like no this

11:50they need to do we always in buffalo or at least on this radio station cody like we're always defaulting
11:56to wide receiver and the bills have just not had top talent at that position not that kansas city does
12:02if we're just comparing the two teams not in every super in some years they have but they've won a

12:07without top talent in fairness they won it where cadarious tony and sky more were two of the three
12:12that's right their last two touchdowns were from those two players if i remember right in that game
12:17so it's just tough like i mean denver bulldog's not here to say it but he's like you know if

12:23big your season's on the line and your last two passes go to mccall hardman and brandon cooks what
12:28are you and they also and the bills also give up 30 points a game in these playoff losses which
12:35brings
12:35up conversations about whether like defense is the problem but then you know they've got the ball
12:40at the end and can't get it done it's weird because like i view buffalo and like the outsiders
12:45perspective right and the kansas city stuff is again that really much on josh allen up until last
12:50season until the game against denver all i saw from josh allen was a guy who unfortunately did not
12:56have the ball last enough now a couple of times came up short but like sometimes it's just
13:00mom's had the ball last and took advantage of it but the 30 points per game in the playoffs
13:05that's why i think it's a mcdermott problem not that i think he was a bad coach but that in
13:10those
13:11moments in which people change their habits and change their breaks they went into the playoffs and
13:16this is why it's a bad thing for the window for the bills they have a window because josh allen
13:19but
13:20their best teams are probably behind them they're gonna have to win with the worst one
13:23because they entered the playoffs with the top five defense and you can correct me if i'm wrong
13:26like three or four of those years and then we're bad defensively in the playoffs you're like
13:31well then that's planning there's a talent part in which you can handle it or your defense got
13:36boosted up statistically by playing what was for that time a very laughable afc east for a bit but
13:42even so it looked to be a defense that could cause problems for that but you know what if a
13:48defense
13:48doesn't have a pass rush i've had a lot of chiefs defenses that had that were good but didn't get
13:53to
13:53the quarterback the postseason kind of exposure sometimes if you don't have like an elite level
13:57pass rusher they've been begging in the bargain bin for von millers of the world and maybe that's it
14:02but i don't have a clear solution for you other than stinks that you have josh allen in a great
14:07team
14:07in an era in which patrick mahomes and andy reed are alive and together like that's maybe the worst
14:12thing buffalo's done do you have another team before we wrap this up cody in the afc we haven't talked
14:18about that you would rank above the bills and or the chiefs as the top team going in
14:24yeah honestly i i don't know what it was i it was maybe the least impressive year out of josh

14:29i've seen in a little while but he was doing it with less and the homes didn't look good
14:32i still kind of have a hard time because it's like i lean towards how could there be a team
14:37that i definitively like better than them and yet i think the rosters are better with the patriots
14:43and maybe even with the broncos but i don't like them better because i the quarterback disparity
14:48is so significant to me i think the best roster how about this the best roster in the afc if
14:55their
14:55quarterback is even passively good as the texans that's the team that i think has a chance to get
14:59the number one seed that isn't those two teams or the ones we've already discussed it is just whether
15:04or not cj stroud has any of that rookie or cj stroud in him what's your bet that he does
15:10or doesn't
15:12i know i when i so when tink dell got hurt i think he gets i think he gets in

15:18moments i think when like something goes wrong in the field sometimes it's not like a panic but
15:23like he shuts down or something so i feel like there's a part of like he just doesn't have it
15:28that is the problem not that he's not talented but he's not a cutthroat and i feel like a quarterback
15:32in the nfl you got to be that when he was at ohio state the knock on him was or
15:37one at least i mean
15:38they had such a good team and he was almost never under duress but when he was he got flustered

15:45not everybody thought he would translate to the nfl because like you can't live like ohio state in
15:50the nfl you're gonna have you're gonna be under pressure a lot and then he had that rookie year
15:54that silenced all of that but he kind of came back and in the playoff game against the patriots he
15:58couldn't hold on to the ball nope so nope and that's been a problem for him this entire time he's
16:03been fumbling because their roster is incredible their defense should be the best in the league
16:06yeah and but it's just like can stroud hold it together talking to aaron shots recently he said
16:11that they're they're the number one seed for him um okay but so to your to your points about
16:16what uh their strengths are thank you
