करूर भगदड़ मामले पर तमिलनाडु के मुख्यमंत्री विजय ने बड़ा बयान देते हुए कहा कि उन्होंने पुलिस प्रशासन पर भरोसा किया, लेकिन बाद में उसी घटना का दोष उन पर मढ़ दिया गया। शुक्रवार (10 जुलाई) को करूर पहुंचकर उन्होंने हादसे में जान गंवाने वाले लोगों को श्रद्धांजलि दी और कहा कि यह त्रासदी पूरे राज्य के लिए बेहद दर्दनाक है। विजय ने आरोप लगाया कि अगर करूर पुलिस ने समय रहते बढ़ती भीड़ की जानकारी दी होती, तो इस हादसे को टाला जा सकता था। उन्होंने बताया कि पेरंबलूर पुलिस ने पहले से सतर्क किया था, लेकिन करूर पुलिस ने ऐसी कोई चेतावनी नहीं दी और उन्हें कार्यक्रम स्थल तक लेकर गई। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि सरकार पीड़ित परिवारों के साथ मजबूती से खड़ी है और भविष्य में ऐसी घटनाओं को रोकने के लिए आवश्यक कदम उठाए जाएंगे।

Visiting Karur on Friday (July 10), he paid tribute to those who lost their lives and described the incident as a heartbreaking tragedy for the entire state. Vijay alleged that the disaster could have been prevented if the Karur Police had informed him in time about the rapidly growing crowd. He said that while the Perambalur Police had warned them in advance, the Karur Police failed to provide any such alert and even escorted him to the event venue.
