00:00So, it finally happened. Bloons TD Battles 2 modding is about to take off in ways that were
00:06previously never imagined to be possible, and there's not a damn thing Ninja QE Europe can do
00:12about it this time. I previously made a video called, This Update Made Bloons TD Battles 2
00:18Modding Impossible, where I talk about how your account gets permanently flagged for using modded
00:24game files. Since then, we've discovered exactly how the game's flagging system actually works,
00:31and on July 11th, 2026, the game has been broken down to the molecular level. It was surprisingly
00:39simple to do, and actually we theorized some sort of spoofing method to bypass the Over
00:45the Air Update server check back in May 2025, but to my knowledge nothing ever came out
00:53of it. I won't reiterate everything I said in my last video, but for context, when the
00:59game starts up, the first thing it does while it's on the load screen is check the dull version
01:04to see if the game needs to update. Then it uploads all the game files it has to Ninja
01:09QE servers to check if they match. All it took to bypass this check is a private server with
01:15a custom client as it turns out. Out of respect for their privacy, I will refer to the user who
01:21made this discovery as Percy in this video. Percy is a computer science university student
01:29who randomly decided to set their sights on Bloom's TD Battles 2. They were inspired by
01:34my past video, and over the course of this summer, they decided to do some digging just
01:38to see how vulnerable this game is to hackers and modders, which Ninja QE Europe deems as one
01:45of the same. In just a matter of mere days, Percy was able to make a program that dissected
01:51every single part of the game right down to the source code, and what was found is shocking.
01:57They also took advantage of a security exploit the game had, and could push out their own
02:02OTA updates on command. The ramifications of this are huge. This makes anything promised
02:10in the upcoming BTD6 mod system pale in comparison, because now any part of the game's code is
02:17potentially up for grabs. BTD6 mod system reminds me of an old Flash game that I played called
02:23Onslaught 2, which I actually played right about the time I first discovered Bloom's Tower Defense.
02:30In 2009. God, this makes me feel old, even though I'm only 26 now. But boy, this journey back to
02:372009
02:38was worth it. There's a lot of unpacking in this modding tab here. Just look at it. Even though
02:44this plays much different from Bloom's TD Battles 2, it just gives you an idea of how much potential
02:49this game has for a game editor of sorts, even more so than BTD6, I'd argue. Of course, just
02:56because Battles 2 modding has been made possible to this extent doesn't mean it's all sunshine and
03:01rainbows. Even though the general direction of Battles 2 balance has been going the wrong way for over a
03:07year now, it takes someone with real programming knowledge to actually make the OTA update the
03:13game needs, or to make a game mod that can bypass Ninja Kiwi server detection. If someone pushes out
03:21an OTA update in bad faith, that can jeopardize the game as a whole, so this power has to be
03:26used
03:27sparingly. This is still a developing story, and I'll try to follow up on it as NK may figure out
03:33a
03:33way to put the modders back in their place, and the modders will once again figure out how to come
03:37back on top. But by this point, any attempt to do so isn't going to be effective, and Ninja Kiwi's
03:43best bet is to make a Bloom's TD Battles 3 that is completely retooled. That's going to go well, isn't
03:49it?
