Today’s featured work, [MONOLITH], was written based on the core theories of the pioneer of modern philosophy, Immanuel Kant: the Sublime (Das Erhabene) and the Rational Subject. Kant defined the Sublime as the noble emotion one feels when confronted with immense nature or overwhelming power. Initially, a person feels small and fearful, but they eventually realize the superior power of their own mind, which can rationally grasp and appreciate that very immensity.
This project visualizes the confidence of a subject who transforms the fear felt before modern greatness—dizzying skyscrapers and endless urban landscapes—into a state of pure euphoria. The line "Vortex, vortex—The exact second fear mutates into a golden leap" sings of the pinnacle of Kantian sublimity. Furthermore, the declaration "Wherever my will reaches, this chaotic empire is organized anew" embodies the overwhelming sovereign attitude of the rational designer.
