00:00The preliminary hearing in the Charlie Kirk murder case wrapping up this week, but despite what prosecutors say is overwhelming
00:06evidence against Tyler Robinson, the judge could wait until potentially September 1st to decide if the case goes to trial.
00:14The Kirk family releasing a statement saying, quote, OK, Kirk family calls for swift path to justice.
00:20As difficult as these last few days have been, it brings our family comfort to know that the world has
00:26witnessed the overwhelming evidence of what occurred to Charlie that day.
00:30With us now, Dr. Frank Turek, Charlie Kirk's mentor, who was in the car with Charlie during his final moments.
00:38Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Literally, let's listen from him. Mentor. Last moment.
00:42Good morning, Frank. So let's talk about it. I mean, we all the country watched. This was quite an avalanche
00:48of evidence. Your thoughts?
00:50Yes. Yeah, absolutely. Griff. I mean, not only do we have video evidence, we have confessions from Tyler Robinson in
00:58three different ways.
00:59Yes. I mean, he confessed over text. He confessed in a written confession letter that he left for his roommate.
01:09Roommate. Yep. Yes. There also. Yes. He did it.
01:12Lover. And he also confessed verbally to Lance Twigs. So it's just an avalanche of evidence, Griff. And normally, as
01:22you know, people will plead within 30 days.
01:26Within 30 days. But we have to wait until September 1st.
01:30Being arrested. We're at 10 months yesterday, Griff. And we don't even have a plea. We don't even have a
01:37court date.
01:38Damn. What we have is a date for when the judge is going to say we have probable cause.
01:44Griff, we had probable cause in the first 10 minutes of this hearing, it seems. Monday.
01:48Monday. There's enough time.
01:50Charlie Kirk murder case. What's happening? Prosecutor says evidence is overwhelming.
01:56Go to a trial. Or enough evidence to go to a trial. So I know the judge is being cautious
02:02because he doesn't want to be overturned on appeal due to some procedural error.
02:08But it really seems he's kind of going overboard with the court. Overboard. Yes.
02:12It has been shocking, Frank, to the whole country that this trial.
02:15Everyone, every person in the country wants this man to incite into jail or something else.
02:22May not even begin until the one year anniversary and beyond of this tragedy.
02:27The victim's family statement in support of a speedy disposition for getting this moving says this.
02:35Yes. The defendant is entitled to a fair trial.
02:37A fair trial. Damn, buddy.
02:40And he must receive one. He is not, however, entitled to cause undue delay in the criminal justice process.
02:46The victim's family is independently entitled to a speedy resolution.
02:50It brings me, Frank, to just, I can't begin to imagine how difficult this is on the Kirk family.
02:57Yes. Difficult for, very difficult for the Kirk family, man.
03:01Yeah, I was out there in Utah with the family and with the TPUSA team.
03:07I was not allowed into the courtroom because no eyewitness, according to the judge, was allowed into the courtroom.
03:13But I can tell you it is very difficult for Erica, for Mr. and Mrs. Kirk, and also for the
03:18entire team who was out there to support Erica and Mr. and Mrs. Kirk.
03:24It is extremely difficult to do this. It has to be done, quite obviously. Everyone deserves a fair trial.
03:30Everybody. Yes, everybody in the America deserves a fair trial. Okay, okay. But 10 months, buddy.
03:37It's until proven guilty. We don't believe in smearing people or coming up with conspiracy theories that have no basis
03:44in evidence.
03:45Notice how the defense, by the way, didn't try and advance any of the conspiracy theories out there.
03:51All of the conspiracy theories we have right now is baseless, true baseless things.
03:58Because there really is no evidence for that. No.
04:00And so evidence is necessary for justice. We just think, I just think that it needs to proceed a little
04:09bit quicker because as you may know, Griff, there are some high power attorneys running up the bill.
04:15Yes, true. We all know who he's talking about. We all know.
04:20There for the defense, that they're using taxpayer dollars for a defense that is really grasping at straws right now.
04:29There's so much evidence against Tyler Robinson.
04:33Very much. Everything is against him. We just need a fair trial.
04:37We ought to go to trial very quickly. And I'm afraid it's going to be probably next summer before the
04:43trial starts.
04:44Well, hopefully sooner.
04:46Damn, Beau, next summer, almost one year again.
04:50Ten months and one year, you see again, it's like 12 and 10.
04:54Oh, my God. 22.
04:56Then that, as the country watches on, Dr. Frank Turek, thank you for your insight.
05:01We're going to continue to follow this at every turn.
05:04Thanks, Frank.
05:04Thank you, Frank.
