00:00Typhoon Bavi, Typhoon Igme, they're actually the exact same storm.
00:03So why does one typhoon have two different names?
00:05Well, it depends on who's issuing the forecast.
00:07The World Meteorological Organization assigns the international names used across much of the world.
00:12That's why it's called Bavi.
00:13But when a storm enters the Philippine Area of Responsibility,
00:16the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Service Administration
00:20gives it its own local name to make warnings clearer for people there in the Philippines.
00:24That's why it's also called Igme.
00:26So if you see Bavi in one headline and Igme in another,
00:29don't worry, they're talking about the exact same typhoon.
