00:00Laybourne Gorange Riding Centre for the Disabled has been the victim of a break-in.
00:06Footage from a neighbour's CCTV showed a group of three getting onto the property
00:12just before midnight on July 6th and stealing a large number of saddlebags.
00:19The footage can't be shown to protect the privacy of the resident,
00:23but it's clear the damage that's been left behind.
00:26Saddlebags can cost anything from £500 to £5,000 and over 50 of them were stolen from this riding centre.
00:37The charity is independently run and relies on donations to keep providing horse riding lessons
00:45for disabled and able-bodied riders. But the community has come to support the centre in its time of need.
00:53Purchasing horses is tricky enough as it is without people then helping themselves and
00:58taking what they want, especially from a charity. So, yeah, it will make a difference. But
01:05we've been overwhelmed by people's generosity. We've already had so many donations of saddles.
01:10We've got a fundraising online which has raised over £5,000 already. So,
01:17with one hand you see the worst of mankind and the other hand you see the best. A spokesperson for
01:23Kemp Police says the gang left the scene in a silver car and that a full investigation is underway.
01:30They are also urging anyone with information and or footage to contact the force. A charity night is
01:40also set to take place at the Naval Ball in West Morling on Wednesday 29th July to help the centre
01:49recover even more.
01:51The centre and the community are determined to keep riding. Henry Luck for KMTV in Laybourne.
02:01Hmmm, that's it.
