Watch this clip where a woman is left terrified after hearing loud explosion-like noises before witnessing a massive fire erupt nearby, initially believing the area was under attack.

Mariana Kmet from Milan, Italy, was at her home on the evening of the incident when she heard a series of loud bangs that she said sounded like bombs.

Moments later, her room suddenly became dark, prompting her to step onto her balcony at around 7:50 p.m on July 8th to check what was happening.

She was stunned to see huge flames and thick smoke rising from a nearby building.

Having previously lived through the war in Ukraine, Mariana said her first thought was that the neighbourhood was being bombed, triggering traumatic memories from her past. Fearing for her safety, she immediately left her apartment while recording the unfolding scene.

The dramatic footage captures the towering blaze, heavy smoke and Mariana's emotional reaction as emergency services responded to the incident.
