00:10The informal gathering in Bangkok will mark the first in-person meeting
00:14between the bloc's foreign ministers and Myanmar's top diplomat since the 2021 military coup.
00:23As current ASEAN chair, the Philippines will lead the discussions.
00:26It said Myanmar remains an integral member of ASEAN
00:30and that the meeting will give its foreign minister an opportunity
00:33to brief counterparts on the country's situation.
00:36They are expected to discuss ASEAN's future engagement with Myanmar,
00:40including possible steps towards ending violence,
00:42advancing inclusive dialogue and expanding humanitarian assistance.
00:46The meeting comes after the president of Myanmar, Min Ong Leung,
00:49made his first visit to an ASEAN member state last week,
00:52travelling to Laos as he seeks to reset relations with the bloc.
