00:37She was serving a 27-year prison sentence following several convictions
00:41which her supporters said were politically motivated to remove her from public life.
00:47Her sentence was later reduced by one-six under a recent amnesty
00:52during which thousands of prisoners were released across the country.
00:56During his recent inauguration, Ming Ong Lang expressed his intention to rebuild
01:01and strengthen relations between Myanmar and ASEAN after a period of strained engagement.
01:08Meanwhile, Thailand voiced support for efforts to restore ties
01:11and indicated that it hoped to take a leading role in the process.
