00:00No, I certainly didn't anticipate it, but I have to say, I think it's the right course to take.
00:05Now, this is a very decisive man. I mean, this is the man who, for years and years and years,
00:10you know, we heard from successive governments who can't do anything about GCHR,
00:14we've just got to obey their judgments. And Nigel said, well, no, actually, we don't.
00:19Now, that is the sort of decision-taking that is needed in the leader of the country,
00:25and he has now taken a very similar attitude in this personal circumstance.
00:30And he has said, you know, I don't have to put up with all this hounding and harassment
00:37for as long as, you know, the establishment or the press fancy it.
00:42I can actually take matters into my own hands now. And that is what he's done.
00:47And I think that's what makes Nigel Courage so different.
00:51Do you think that Nigel will have the last laugh? Because I'm wondering,
00:54for example, whether it would be very embarrassing for the parliamentary authorities
00:59if they provoke yet another by-election after this one.
01:03Has Nigel set an extraordinary bear trap for them?
01:08I certainly think that, you know, they will have to hesitate about, you know,
01:12a third election. I mean, kind of general election.
01:15Now they're getting a by-election and flipping another by-election won't go down well,
01:19not only in Clacton, it won't go down well anywhere.
01:23And I think most people will say enough is enough, but we'll have to see.
01:26I can't. I'm not a mind reader. I can't say what we can do to do.
