00:00All right, the Astros, they'll get ready for a game,
00:04the final game of this series with the Nationals tonight.
00:07Look to win this series.
00:10Spence-Arragette gets the ball tonight,
00:11so we'll see if he can continue what he did in his last start,
00:18which he gave up one run in that game.
00:22The Astros lost, but he pitched well six innings
00:24and gave up one run in that game against the Rays.
00:27But, Clint, last night, as we talked about it,
00:31Sugar Land was going to be a big night for some of the potential reinforcements
00:38that could be coming in soon for the Astros.
00:43And Lance McCullers, Ron El Blanco, and Jeremy Pena
00:47all were scheduled to have rehab appearances at AAA Sugar Land.
00:52Now, they only were able to get, I believe, six innings in
00:57because rain ended that game.
01:00But, Clint, Lance started the game,
01:03and he gave up four runs, two of them earned,
01:09on three hits and three walks while striking out four batters.
01:14He threw 77 pitches, 43 were strikes,
01:16and he topped out at a little over 93 miles per hour,
01:22averaging just over 90 miles per hour with his four-seam fastball.
01:28So, that's not great.
01:30That is not what you were looking at.
01:34I would hope that he gets another start down there
01:37before he potentially makes his way in.
01:40Blanco came in after him, and he threw two scoreless innings
01:45retiring all six batters he faced, including, I think the thought was,
01:50he would have gone longer had the game gone longer,
01:53but the rain ended that.
01:56And then Jeremy Pena, who's been out with that left calf strain,
02:01he came and played shortstop.
02:03He went one for four with an RBI double,
02:05and is expected, according to Ryan McTaggart,
02:09expected to join the Astros Friday
02:12when they travel to Arlington to play the Rangers.
02:15So, it does look like two are getting close,
02:19or three of them are getting close.
02:21Pena, it sounds like he will be back,
02:22which will be big to get him at shortstop in the lineup.
02:25And, I mean, the errors and the issues,
02:28I mean, I've seen Brandon Shoemake,
02:30Braden Shoemake have two errors the last two days.
02:32Nick Allen threw one away yesterday as well.
02:37And Blanco looks like maybe he's getting stronger.
02:40Lance probably a little bit more mixed with what he put together.
02:43Yeah, I'd imagine both of those pitchers are going to need a little more time
02:46down there, which, look, with Christian Javier
02:48and that spot where Mike Burroughs vacated in the rotation coming up,
02:55I believe, in game three of the Rangers series.
02:57It's right around the corner.
02:59Obviously, it's, I mean, those guys aren't going to be ready by then to pitch,
03:02so I'd imagine that's Christian Javier.
03:04And then from there on forward, these guys could get another start in,
03:07some more action in.
03:08But really good to hear on the Ronel Blanco, you know, part there, man.
03:14I mean, just, I know it was cut a little bit short
03:16because I believe it was a lightning delay.
03:17Lightning, yeah.
03:18I mean, two scoreless, man, and retiring all six batters.
03:23It's a couple of strikeouts.
03:24That's awfully impressive.
03:25So it looks like those guys are at least trending in the right direction.
03:30There's no better way to test a lower leg injury than to get a double
03:34or a triple in the game.
03:35So if you're going to go up there and get four at-bats,
03:37get a double leg one out.
03:38If you're able to do that in Sugar Land,
03:39I would think that you're able to help the big league organization win some games.
03:43And so good to see that he'll be back in the next couple of days.
03:47Yeah, with Payne, it's just, I mean, it doesn't matter if he struck out,
03:50you know, five times as long as, you know, he's moving.
03:54And that's the big thing with him is how well is he moving?
03:58And it hasn't been that long, right?
04:00Like he hasn't, this literally feels like it may just be around the 10 games.
04:04Right.
04:05So, you know, he is, he is, as long as he's moving around well
04:08and that calf's not giving him anything, you know,
04:11the double and the RBI double is just kind of icing on the cake at that point.
04:16So it's good to see that he's moving
04:18and already reports that he's going to be there Friday.
04:21As we said, man, they, they need that, that top five of hitters with him,
04:27Alvarez, and then Isak Paredes, Walker, and then, and then Altuve.
04:33They, they need to have that crew back.
04:36So that, that's big to see that, that he's going to be,
04:40he's going to be good to go.
04:41So Sugar Land, by the way, guys, Jake,
04:46Jake, Jake hit a, hit a two run bomb yesterday.
04:48First at bat, I think, wasn't it?
04:49What the boy, Jake?
04:51Tearing up Sugar Land, man.
04:52Went Jake from Rake Farm, man.
04:54Jake, love to hear it.
04:57Jake, get back up here.
04:59Is he, does he make it?
05:00Oh, no question.
05:02They're going to get you, they're going to get Jake back up here, right?
05:04Oh, they're going to, yeah, absolutely.
05:05They're going to, they're going to get Jake back up here and get some run now.
05:10They can't, hell, they can't help themselves.
05:12I told you, Lamont Wade Jr.
05:13Don't work this way back in and get in a five hole, baby.
05:15He sure did.
05:16He jumped in there now.
05:17I've heard about, he might be a trade piece.
05:19Oh, Jake, the lineup is out.
05:22It looks like Bryce is getting another start in center field.
05:25So, you know, good night.
05:26Again, you could see a bunch of Astros out there at Space Cowboy games.
05:30I mean, you saw Blanco, you saw McCullers, you saw Jake, you saw Pena.
05:36He's got some fireworks from him, too, with a bomb and then a double by Pena.
05:39There you go.
05:40By the way, the rotation is set for the weekend series in Arlington.
05:46Hunter Brown will go Friday.
05:47Peter Lambert will go Saturday.
05:49And the Astros are expected, or as expected, are TBA on Sunday,
05:54which would have been Mike Burrell's turn in the rotation.
05:57He's another Astro that's in Sugar Land.
06:01And, Clint, this, if, seriously, if Christian Javier does not start that game.
06:07What is that game?
06:08Is that Saturday or Sunday?
06:09Sunday.
06:10It's Sunday.
06:11If Christian Javier does not start that game, like, I'm really going to need questions
06:16because it's so many spaces that doesn't make sense.
06:20One, it's just clear and obvious that he should be the one there.
06:23And then, as I was looking at this, y'all know he's the fourth highest paid player this
06:29year on the team?
06:30Christian Javier is?
06:32Christian Javier.
06:32I didn't know he was fourth.
06:34I knew he was up there.
06:35The only players that are ahead of him are just as you would think.
06:39Altuve at 33, Correa at 32, and the still of all, Jordan's at –
06:47Oh, Jordan.
06:47He makes more than – Jordan makes 26, and he makes 21 and a half.
06:54Hader makes 20.
06:55Dane will make sure Christian Javier is in there.
06:57By the way, he makes 21 next year, too.
07:00Yeah, we need him to start dealing a little bit.
07:04No, we need him in the bullpen.
07:07We've been sitting here talking about the big reason, and I believe it,
07:11Emai is getting chances after chance because he's making 18.
07:14Well, this Joker's – this Joker – Jim Crane broke off 60, almost 70 million for him.
07:20That's another thing.
07:21It's like, what are we doing?
07:24What are we – man, he is – I mean, if they – I don't know if the Ethan Petko
07:30kid –
07:30I don't care.
07:31If they roll out somebody else, like, if they roll out – and we know that,
07:37hell, they'd be – it wouldn't be a shock if they rolled out Lance.
07:40That's – remember, Emai's last start in Sugar Land didn't exactly scream,
07:44hey, boy, you need to run him out there against Major League Pitching.
07:47I remember he got lit up and couldn't find a strike zone.
07:50But that is – I mean, that man's making 21 and a half million dollars.
07:55And they're like, let's long relief him.
07:57I mean, I can't believe Jim Crane is not saying, hey, guys.
08:01No.
08:01I've already – I'm already still paying Jose Abreu $20 million to just sit over there
08:07and have a good time.
08:09Like, hey, let's chill on this.
08:11I mean, it was – that is just wild.
