00:00So there's a ton going on.
00:01By the way, one of the things I said at the beginning of the show
00:03that I had missed was Brady Kachuk and Sergei Bobrovsky
00:06and all the stuff that happened with the heat.
00:09Just got an email from our friends over at BetOnline.
00:14The new Stanley Cup champion odds are out for next season,
00:19and the Florida Panthers are the favorites, according to Vegas,
00:23to win the Stanley Cup.
00:25Now, their moves, while I believe Sergei Bobrovsky deserved better
00:30than what he got from the Panthers,
00:32their moves have been spectacular this offseason.
00:37That is, I mean, lines one through four, right?
00:41I mean, this is a murderer's row of killer hockey players.
00:48The Kachuk brothers, Goudis, like we got some dogs on this team right now.
00:52This is, like, this team is assembled to never pull a pitcher
01:00who was throwing a perfect game through seven.
01:04This is a man's squad.
01:06This is a play-through-anything squad.
01:10Clayton McCullough can't go near the Ameren Bank Arena.
01:14I know they don't fly commercial, but if they did,
01:17they could win any fight in the terminal.
01:20I believe they are so tough, they are walking to every game this coming season.
01:27They're just walking.
01:29It doesn't matter if it's Anaheim or Vancouver.
01:32They are walking.
01:34We got action.
01:35And it makes them even more hated.
01:38Like, the Panthers were already hated,
01:40and I think we all kind of embraced that.
01:42Like, we were the D-bags of the NHL with Matthew Kachuk.
01:45Now you're adding the other Kachuk, who also kind of carries some baggage
01:49in terms of maybe a 30 hit here or there.
01:52It's hockey, man.
01:53It's just hockey.
01:54Like, we are once again targets.
01:57Did he throw Radko Goudis back in there, the butcher?
02:00Yep.
02:00Let's go.
02:02We got a squad.
02:05And we know how the coach coaches.
02:07He coaches the cross check.
02:09He coaches that.
02:10Bro, I'm excited about this.
02:11This is going to be a nasty little team.
02:13This is going to be a nasty team.
02:16Very excited.
02:17Anyway, they're the favorites.
02:18They're 7-1 to win the Stanley Cup.
02:20Carolina, 15-2.
02:23Colorado, 15-2.
02:25Edmonton and Vegas, 10-1.
02:28Tampa, 11-1.
02:29All right, let's do headlines.
02:31We have so much to talk about.
02:32There's so much going on.
02:33Headlines with Solana brought to you by Darrell Kia in Miami
02:36at a Domino's game.
02:37You'll find your abuelito.
02:39When you want a low price, you save with your pricito.
02:42Save now with your pricito at Darrell Kia.
02:44Hawk, you mentioned just because you're talking about the Panthers,
02:46you felt like Bobrovsky got de-weighted to Chicago.
02:50So you didn't like the decision to not bring back
02:53Sergey Bobrovsky because it sounded like there were intense conversations
02:58between the two sides over a very long period of time.
03:01And they maybe just ultimately couldn't get that third year finalized.
03:05From what I understand, and I may have some inside info here,
03:11Sergey Bobrovsky, his agent, overplayed their hand with him,
03:16thinking that, hey, we're going to squeeze more money out of the Panthers.
03:20And the Panthers had a line, and from what I understand,
03:24at some point they said, well, go get it then.
03:32Instead of negotiating with him, it was go get it then.
03:36And then who'd they sign?
03:37Markstrom?
03:38They went out.
03:39They signed Markstrom, which is how Sergey Bobrovsky essentially finds out
03:43that he's no longer going to be part of the Panthers.
03:46His intentions, you saw his interviews, right, in Toronto?
03:50Like, his intentions were to stay in Florida.
03:53He didn't want to go anywhere.
03:54Do you remember when he first got here?
03:56Remember how difficult that first season was?
03:58And he said afterwards, he's a man, like, you know,
04:04we would see him on the ice, and he was robotic in the way
04:07that he would prepare for games and prepare pregame and stuff.
04:12And I don't think he wanted to go through moving cities again.
04:16Remember, he was very open and honest about how difficult it was
04:19for him to move down here without his family
04:21and to try to get acclimated.
04:23And those first couple seasons were very rough.
04:25I don't think he had any desire to do that again.
04:28And obviously, you don't want to leave a winning organization again.
04:31And this goes back to the Uri Perez decision.
04:34I understand both sides.
04:37I understand his value was diminished.
04:41I understand that his play was diminished.
04:43And I understand that probably the correct hockey decision
04:47was to move on from him.
04:50But I can still disagree with that while understanding it.
04:55And I felt that way about Dwayne Wade,
04:58where, you know, they coveted Hassan Whiteside,
05:03his signature more than Dwayne Wade's that offseason.
05:07And he was hurt by it and ended up getting burnt by it.
05:12And I think that Sergei Bobrovsky deserved better than,
05:16well, hey, go get it elsewhere.
05:18You ain't getting it here.
05:20Well, Hawk, you bring up Wade.
05:22Wade, we missed you, Hawk.
05:24We love you.
05:25Eek, Lib, a deek.
05:27I trust Riley's basketball decisions over yours.
05:30I trust Bill Zito's hockey decisions over yours.
05:34That's what they have to do.
05:35Three for 21 is what Bob signed for, right?
05:38Seven a year.
05:39They didn't want to give him seven.
05:40And like you said, I don't know how far they were away,
05:42but they put their foot in the dirt.
05:44I almost respect it out of Bill Zito for putting his foot in the dirt.
05:47Yeah, again, I understand it.
05:49And obviously they know more.
05:50Although I would tell you that Riley probably regrets that
05:53as one of his biggest missteps during his tenure,
05:57letting that go on with Dwayne the way that it went on.
06:00But I just think that Sergei Bobrovsky has been such a big part
06:05of what the Panthers have done that maybe he deserved,
06:09hey, we're on the phone with Markstrom.
06:13This is going to happen.
06:15This is your last chance.
06:16And, you know, again, whether he would have acquiesced
06:20and taken less, I don't know.
06:23I'm just a little hurt.
06:25I was hurt when Dwayne Wade left for Chicago,
06:28and I'm hurt that Sergei Bobrovsky ended up having to leave for Toronto.
06:36The Giannis Antetokounmpo trade, along with Bobby Portis,
06:40is officially official.
06:42It's been announced on both sides.
06:44Giannis had a really classy goodbye video for the entire city of Milwaukee.
06:50And Buck's ownership, I thought, put out a very classy message from the owner himself
06:56about Giannis and what he meant to that city and that organization.
07:00It kind of felt like the two sides were heading towards, like, that really ugly separation.
07:05And maybe behind the scenes it was ugly, but surface level, it seems like an amicable split.
07:12Yep.
07:13Tyler Hero has also posted a video now in the past hour.
07:18It's a pretty long video, his best moments in Miami, and then, like, a long message to the city of
07:24Miami.
07:25I'll just read you a little bit.
07:26Seven years, it's hard to put into words what this city has meant to me.
07:30It gave me a place to grow up.
07:32This city gave me more than a basketball career.
07:35I became a man here.
07:36I became a father here.
07:37I built lifelong relationships here.
07:39Miami became home.
07:40He thanked Spoh, Pat, Mickey, the entire organization, the fans.
07:45He said, Miami didn't just shape my career, shape my life.
07:48Thank you for everything.
07:50Hawk, while you were gone last week, there were some screenshots of Tyler Hero
07:58seemingly taking shots at Bam Adebayo on the way out.
08:02So, a lot of Heat fans were very upset with Tyler Hero.
08:05I just wonder what you guys think, how he'll be remembered, you know, a decade from now
08:09when you think back to his Heat career.
08:12I think Tyler was a great ball player.
08:15He was, I mean, we used to say it.
08:17He's a bucket.
08:17I mean, he created some spectacular moments.
08:20His rookie season was way beyond anyone's expectation.
08:25I mean, he put himself on the map nationally, I remember.
08:30Um, and then it petered out.
08:32I think we saw what he was.
08:34He was a once in a while, maybe once in a career all-star.
08:38He got that.
08:40And he, he was like, you put him on a very good team.
08:45He can be a very big piece of it, but he's a centerpiece or, or one of the stalwarts of
08:53the team.
08:53And we watched what happened in the playoffs, like, um, he was exploitable and he got exploited.
09:00So, you know, it, it depends on what role that he's going to play somewhere, but I have
09:05good feelings for Tyler.
09:06I liked him a lot.
09:07It got a little dicey at the end.
09:09He wasn't playing enough, but I'm trying to look at his career.
09:12The seven seasons in totality, not just the, the last couple where it was very evident
09:16that Pat Riley wanted more action out of him and just wasn't getting it.
09:21He'd have a good game every now and again.
09:24I always use the, you know, the, the situation where my son's 14, when he gets married and
09:29has a kid 15 years from now, when I talked to my grandson about basketball, I'm not bringing
09:36up Tyler hero and the heat legacy history.
09:38It's Tyler hero.
09:39It is what it is.
09:40So Tyler heroes, number 14 Jersey, not even a conversation internally between brass about
09:48retiring.
09:49Number 14, I would smack your mouth.
09:51I wish we were in studio.
09:53I think they should have two players wear number 14 next season.
09:59I'm not advocating for it.
10:00I'm just, I'm just throwing it out there.
10:02I think when they play Milwaukee next season, everyone.
10:08Oh, Oh.
10:10Oh, I always think it's me, man, because I got my little Starlink, uh, satellite on the
10:15top of the TV.
10:16I think I was going to say, everybody should wear number 14 next year.
10:22Yeah, man.
10:23It's, it's Mario Chalmers.
10:25It's, you know, it's Norris Cole.
10:27Like I'm just throwing it out there.
10:29Uh, two trips to the NBA finals, even though the second one, he wasn't really a part of it.
10:33So I guess it doesn't, it doesn't count because he got hurt in game one against Milwaukee.
10:37Uh, I don't know.
10:39I don't think that number gets retired.
10:41I don't, I'm not advocating.
10:41I'm not arguing for it, but I did see a large faction of heat fans who now that we know
10:48he's
10:48been traded arguing for it.
10:50So I thought it was worth just pondering.
10:52This is your, this is the young little 20 and thirties.
10:57You're, you're people, Solana that just get caught up in the moment.
11:00You're never talking about Tyler hero again.
11:02You're talking about Shaq.
11:04You're talking about UD.
11:04You talk about Wade talking about Zoe.
11:07You're talking about a boss.
11:08You're talking about those guys.
11:10You, Jimmy Buckets is going to make the list.
11:12When you start talking about heat, heat legacy, Tyler hero is not getting spoke of in five
11:16years.
11:18Uh, by the way, DeMar DeRozan, according to Barry Jackson, there's been no contact yet
11:23between the heat and DeMar DeRozan.
11:26That's as of 23 minutes ago, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald tweeted that out.
11:30And then he throws out another name.
11:31Contavious Caldwell Pope has, uh, has been liked in the past and could come up again.
11:37If the Grizzlies part ways, he also mentioned, I wish Hawk was here for this.
11:41It's Bradley Beal, Gary Brent, or the Miami heat could simply wait on LeBron.
11:48Barry says, so you think it's Cleveland, 100% Crowder.
11:52Like you're, you're at a hundred percent Cleveland.
11:53No, I'm not at a hundred percent, but I've been, I'm stuck on the fact that, like I say,
11:58it would, it's a story.
11:59And I think LeBron cares about like the story.
12:02I think he really appreciates the, the legacy he has start leave, have to learn how to win.
12:09And this was college years.
12:10I think his name, his, his, his words were, these were his four college years to now go
12:15back and win one down three, one to the golden say, then go to one of the most, you know,
12:20the best franchise or one of the most, you know, favorite franchises in the history of
12:23basketball and win one, and then come back to Cleveland and they have a good squad.
12:28It's not like they're garbage.
12:29They had the two big boys.
12:30They got Mitchell.
12:31They got, you know, James Harden.
12:33I think him and James Harden are going to fight before the year's over if he does go back.
12:36But I just think it would, it would be a great bookend to LeBron James legacy for him to start
12:42and end in Cleveland.
12:43Yeah.
12:43But what's more important, winning another ring or retiring as a member of the Cavaliers?
12:49That's all I'm asking.
12:49Cause you're right.
12:50They have a good team.
12:50And I know we talked, talked about this a lot last week, but now that it feels like we're
12:55approaching the final decision of all decisions by LeBron James.
13:00I don't think Cleveland is the best chance to win a title.
13:04I'm not saying they can't, but I don't think it's the best chance to win.
13:07And I think whether it's Miami, whether you want to argue Philadelphia, like there, there's
13:12better situations for him to go win a ring.
13:16But I would ask Solana and not even, I don't know.
13:19I'm asking you this as a real question.
13:22If we just go Cleveland, Miami now with, you know, Jalen Brown and 76ers now through a
13:27wrench into everything golden state, I think is still in the mix.
13:29I've heard who is a better roster right now.
13:34And we know there might be movement with LeBron moving as we sit here today.
13:38Is it Cleveland or is it Miami with Giannis?
13:41Because we saw Cleveland drag Miami, but we didn't have Giannis.
13:44So what's the better roster of the two who has a higher ceiling?
13:48Who's just a better roster.
13:49You're sitting down with LeBron.
13:51You're sitting down with LeBron in the living room and he asked you that question.
13:54I think it's the Miami Heat because they have the better player.
13:56They have a top five player in the NBA.
13:58Cleveland doesn't.
13:59So yeah, I would give the nod to the Miami Heat and I'm not trying to be biased about
14:04it.
14:04I know I am a little bit, but I think if you give LeBron James, take, take the fact that
14:09Cleveland's home, you present them all the rosters and you say, this will be your last
14:13chance to win a championship.
14:14Here are the two rosters.
14:17Cleveland perhaps is a little bit deeper considering Miami hasn't filled out their
14:21roster yet, but Cleveland's bench isn't exactly like, they're not, they're not unbelievable.
14:27And he gets to play alongside Giannis onto the Kumpo and Bam at a bio who are defensively
14:33going to hold it down for him.
14:34Yeah.
14:35I think the opportunity to play with a top five player in the league when healthy and
14:40Giannis is a more enticing situation.
14:43If a, if LeBron wants to win, then going to Cleveland.
14:47But I heard Dan Levitard say this this morning, I was listening to their show and he said,
14:51going back to Cleveland, he can win without even winning.
14:55In other words, the LeBron James career and the story of him going back to Cleveland is
15:02a win no matter what happens on the court with basketball.
15:05I agree with that.
15:06I think that's a hundred percent accurate and it's, it's a great point, but if he does
15:10actually want to go chase that fifth title, then I don't think Cleveland's the best place
15:14for him.
15:16Mobley and Allen aren't Bam and Giannis, but they're two very good defensive bigs.
15:21They're not offensively nowhere close.
15:22Them boys can play ball.
15:23They're good for sure.
15:25Spider and James Harden are way better than Wiggins and Davion Mitchell.
15:33Aren't they?
15:34Yeah.
15:35Cause LeBron, what LeBron's going to run the three.
15:36He's going to run the point a lot, but he's going to be a guard.
15:39Yeah.
15:39But you're right.
15:40And James Harden are better than Davion Mitchell and Wiggins.
15:43Yeah.
15:43But Giannis on to the compo is better than either, either of the four players you mentioned
15:47for Cleveland by a long, the better bigs.
15:49We got the bigger, small, we got the better smalls.
15:52Like he just, we got to just talk about it rationally.
15:55I want, I want him to come to Miami.
15:58I'm just saying, I don't know if the difference in rosters plus what you're saying, like the emotional
16:03side of it, the win one for Cleveland, the promise Academy, it's a lot more attached to
16:09Cleveland than there is to Miami.
16:11Right now, Spain, Portugal, 27th minute.
16:15It's nil nil.
16:17USA will play Belgium.
16:18Yes.
16:19Flo Balogun will be available tonight for the U S and the Miami Marlins.
16:26We talked about Clayton McCullough, that entire decision in the first hour.
16:30I know we'll get back to it a little bit later, but yesterday just under immense heat from
16:36Marlins fans because of that decision to pull Yuri Perez.
16:40Um, and the Marlins are back at it tomorrow.
16:43They'll be here at Lone Depot park.
16:47Man, that was frustrating.
16:49Sorry about that.
16:49But the internet never went out in my house cause I'm watching the stream of the world cup
16:53game.
16:53And then my computer couldn't get it back.
16:56So then I have to restart it.
16:58Well, I haven't had this computer on in a couple of weeks.
17:00So then it's like update and restart.
17:03And there's no option not to do that.
17:05And it says about seven minutes.
17:11That's what I do.
17:14You don't want a vacation from a vacation.
17:18Your weather in South Florida right now, it is pouring rain in parts of South Florida.
17:23So please drive safely.
17:24It's in the upper eighties.
17:26It is hot.
17:26It is humid.
17:27It is a summer afternoon.
17:30That's brought to you by tornado roofing and contracting, helping keep your home and family
17:34safe.
17:34When the storms roll in, visit tornado roofing.com for your free roof and window estimate.
17:45I think Hawk's still dealing with some, I think he's still dealing with some, some
17:50stream yard.
17:51You gotta get that star link, that star link satellite.
17:55That star link is legit, bro.
17:56Man, I got a satellite on top of my house.
17:59It works.
18:00All right, let's do this.
18:01Let's let's reconnect with Hawk on the other side.
