03:05Hi friends.
03:20Hey good morning, it's 9 o'clock Pacific time, it's 9 o'clock here in Arizona and we love having
03:32you. Say hi to my shut-ins.
03:35Sure do appreciate you.
03:39Thanks for tuning in.
03:45I've got a good Bible study for you today.
03:49Yeah.
03:51Don't forget about our services every week.
03:53I think yesterday's worship service was off the chain.
04:00You wouldn't have believed it.
04:01It was God's being good to us here at the Deliverance Center.
04:06The anointing is going up on all the services.
04:10It's quite remarkable.
04:13And boy, we're grateful for it because without the anointing, you really don't have anything, to be honest.
04:19There's nothing there.
04:22I mean, you can do some good things without the anointing.
04:25Churches do good things all the time, but to really get anything accomplished, the Holy Ghost has to do it.
04:33And if he doesn't do it, man, you're out of luck, period.
04:41Yep, we have three Zoom services every week, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings, and you can get healed right over
04:47the Zoom.
04:47And in fact, it happens.
04:48You can just sit there if you don't want to get healed.
04:52You can sit there with your camera off and just watch the people get healed.
04:56They give their testimonies after they're healed on the Zoom.
05:00Really fantastic.
05:01If you send me an email, mike at hardcorechristianity.com, I'll send you the code and the password.
05:07I'll send it today if you ask for it.
05:10Please get a copy of the Miracle List, a step-by-step guide to healing and deliverance.
05:14It works 100% of the time.
05:17Send me an email, and I'll send that to you today.
05:19I have two of them, one for troubled Christians and one for mentally ill Christians.
05:27Maybe it works.
05:28You can be healed of your mental illness, believe it or not.
05:30We see people healed of mental illnesses all the time here at the Deliverance Center.
05:37Our monthly healing service, again, the annoying just keeps going up.
05:42Stephanie's doing a wonderful job.
05:45There's no seats left for the healing services, so this month, the last Friday of the month, I'll tell you,
05:52you've got to get there a little early now because we don't have any seats left.
05:57The place is packed.
05:59So, we are having a miracle service also this month on Saturday with Peter the Preacher.
06:07The Pentecostals will love that.
06:10And that's going to be a huge turnout as well.
06:13So, we've got a lot of things going on at the Deliverance Center.
06:18If you need to be healed, if you need to be delivered, you know, you don't have to be here
06:24in person.
06:26Got all kinds of stuff ready to go for you.
06:29Hey, I had a lot of responses that were positive about my teaching last Friday night on the demon of
06:39guilt.
06:40And I wanted to share that with you today, some additional details with it.
06:48When I was a teenager, I ran into a huge mountain of guilt in my life.
06:56I got my girlfriend pregnant, and I kind of pressured her into an abortion.
07:06And I felt horrible about it.
07:08She felt horrible about it.
07:11But I thought, oh, my God, my life's over.
07:16I'm so young, I can't be a dad.
07:19I can't take care of a kid.
07:21And, wow, I kind of pressured her into doing it.
07:24Well, I felt guilty about that for years.
07:28And that was one of the first things I went down to the altar about decades later when I turned
07:34my life over to the Lord.
07:36That was one of the things I had to go down and take care of because I just felt so
07:41guilty about, you know, killing my child like that.
07:45And it kind of haunted me.
07:49I would force it out of my mind and not think about it.
07:52But that was one of the things I had to talk to the Lord about years and years later.
07:58It was a tough one, real tough.
08:02People screw up really bad in life.
08:05And I'm talking about Christians when I talk about people.
08:09Christians screw up so bad all the time, it's really frightening.
08:14It's actually scary.
08:16Well, Peter, and if it had to have been for him, you and I probably wouldn't be sitting here talking
08:23with each other.
08:27Peter, Peter screwed up much worse than you and I have ever screwed up.
08:33He and Judas were the kings of screwing up.
08:38They were the two kings.
08:41Judas, as you will remember, got possessed by the demon of guilt.
08:48And that demon is so powerful.
08:52It's really a rejection demon on steroids.
08:55That thing is so powerful that it leads to suicide.
09:01Those demons are able to get people to off themselves.
09:04That's how powerful they are.
09:08And it happened to Judas.
09:10He had enormous guilt over what he had done.
09:17It was really sad.
09:20He had been a full-blown apostle, disciple of Christ, had been with him for three or four years.
09:29He had been out praying for the sick, casting out demons.
09:36He had an amazing minute.
09:38In fact, Jesus trusted him so much.
09:40They were such close friends, he let him carry the bag.
09:43He collected the offerings.
09:48And Jesus kept giving him multiple chances because he knew he was skimming the offerings.
09:55He knew he had the horrible lust for money.
10:00The love of money is the root of all evil.
10:03The love of it.
10:06Phalagoria is the Greek word.
10:07It means to be emotionally attached to or emotionally fond of money.
10:14And it'll kill you.
10:18Well, instead of repenting to God and to the other disciples over what he did with Jesus,
10:23he couldn't do it.
10:24He threw the 30 pieces of silver back at you and ran out and hung himself.
10:34Well, Peter did something similar, as you know.
10:38Peter was just an enormous loser.
10:43At the end of Jesus' ministry, this is Matthew 26.
10:50Some enormously interesting information is shared in that chapter.
10:53Jesus is telling them that he's going to be arrested and killed and raised from the dead.
10:59And then after he's raised from the dead, he'll meet them in Galilee.
11:04And Simon Peter pipes up and says, hey, if the other people get offended or they leave or they do
11:11it, I'm never going to do that.
11:13I'm not going to do anything.
11:14Peter had deep-seated insecurity and he covered it up by running his mouth.
11:18He liked to talk like a busted chainsaw.
11:21He wouldn't stop talking, but he wanted people to see him as a leader, see him as somebody special, see
11:29him as brilliant, see him as smart.
11:32And the reason he was doing that, because he had grown up with this deep-seated insecurity, probably from his
11:39dad.
11:40His dad was a very powerful businessman, had a tremendous fishing business.
11:46And Simon just naturally gravitated into working for his dad.
11:50But his dad kind of overshadowed him.
11:52And he wanted to be, he wanted to have his own identity.
11:56And so he became a class clown in school.
11:58And the guy never stopped talking.
12:01And as a disciple, he did the same thing.
12:03He wanted to be the top disciple.
12:05Hey, look at me.
12:06The spotlight's on me.
12:08I'm running my mouth.
12:09I'm saying these things.
12:11I'm doing these things.
12:12Some of it was good.
12:13Some of it was absolutely asinine.
12:17Well, the asinine thing caught up with him.
12:21Jesus said to Peter, just before he was, the night he was arrested, quote, Simon, Simon,
12:30Satan has desired to have you to sift you like wheat.
12:34But I prayed for you that your faith will not fail.
12:37When you are converted, strengthen your brethren.
12:39Now, that statement there was quite shocking.
12:43Epistrepho is the Greek word for converted there.
12:47And it means to be reconverted.
12:51So here you see a prophecy of Peter losing his salvation.
12:54And at that point, it's hard to believe that that could happen, given his background and what he had been
13:04through.
13:07And that was a bold prediction of Jesus.
13:11Well, you know the story.
13:13He followed along with John when Jesus was arrested.
13:20And he denied the Lord three times.
13:24The rooster crowed.
13:27Peter saw Jesus looking at him as they were taking Jesus out of the praetorium where the high priest was.
13:39And he was taken to see Pilate to go through the other trial.
13:45He had already been through the Jewish trial and was found guilty over no evidence.
13:51And he looked out in the courtyard and caught Peter's eye.
13:55They made eye contact way over yonder, from there to way over here.
13:59They saw each other.
14:01And Peter, as you know, literally collapsed.
14:06I'm not talking about collapsing.
14:08He went barnyard crazy.
14:15The third time that he had denied the Lord, the third time he did it, Peter had put a curse
14:25on himself.
14:30He put a curse on himself.
14:32Mark chapter 14.
14:34He began to curse and swear.
14:36And he said, I have never seen this man whom you speak.
14:41He said, I have never seen this man whom you speak.
14:45Anathematizo is a Greek word.
14:47It means to bind someone under an oath of a curse.
14:54All right?
14:56You remember in Corinthians when Paul told the people, look, if somebody comes along and preaches another Jesus that we
15:03haven't preached,
15:05cursed, that person is to be anathema, cursed.
15:13Curse is to be placed on them and they are to be excommunicated.
15:17That's what anathema means.
15:19Peter did it to himself.
15:22He word cursed himself.
15:23And then covered it with curse words, swearing.
15:30And then after he saw Jesus shortly after that, cross the courtyard, it all hit him.
15:38It all hit him.
15:40He had spent three or four years with Jesus, blew everything he had, blew his entire future because he was
15:50called by God to be fishers of men.
15:52And that's the first thing Jesus said to him when he converted him.
15:55He said, come and I'll make you fishers of men.
16:05And Peter's family, by the way, was not wiped out like Judas's was, as it says in Psalms 22.
16:14Peter's, Judas's wife, kids, grandkids, everything, gone.
16:21Everybody in his family tree was destroyed.
16:26Like Eli, his entire family tree wiped out from what he did.
16:35And Judas hung himself and then suddenly, horribly, hideously, transitioned to the other side as he died on that tree.
16:46And the demons escorted him down through the gates of hell, where he still is today.
16:54Like the rich man who was with Lazarus, screaming for help that never comes.
17:00And that's what happens to people when they die and go to hell.
17:02They scream for help that never comes.
17:05Very sad.
17:08Well, it didn't happen to Peter.
17:09He went back home.
17:10He had turned his back on Christ.
17:12He cursed himself.
17:14He left and he went back to doing what?
17:17Fishing.
17:18Went back to fishing.
17:19Fishing.
17:22He had to go back to fishing.
17:24So now Peter has to be reconverted.
17:27He has to be saved again.
17:27He lost his salvation.
17:28He lost his ministry.
17:30He lost his future.
17:31Everything was gone.
17:33But here's the funny thing about it.
17:36Nobody but John knew about it.
17:39No one knew what Peter did.
17:41He never had to embarrass himself from in front of the other nine disciples.
17:49Never did.
17:50Because they weren't there when it happened.
17:53So he never told anybody.
17:55But the guilt of what he did, like the guilt of Judas, ate him alive.
18:02And he had to be reconverted.
18:04And unfortunately, nobody else was there to convert him except the Lord Jesus.
18:09And the Lord set him up to reconvert him.
18:13He appeared to them initially when they were hiding from the Jews.
18:19And he suddenly appeared in the midst of them and said, peace to you.
18:24Thomas wasn't there that day.
18:26Remember that?
18:27Then eight days later, Jesus suddenly appears in the group again.
18:32Thomas is there.
18:33And of course, Thomas is broken.
18:36And he ushers these incredible words, my Lord and my God.
18:41Peter was there and saw that happen.
18:44He still wasn't coming back to the Lord.
18:48The third time Jesus appeared on the Sea of Tiberias, what happened?
18:55They saw him standing on the shore and nobody recognized him.
18:58He tells them to throw their nets on the right side of the boat.
19:03Do what's right for once instead of what's wrong.
19:08And you won't believe how your life will turn around.
19:10It's really amazing.
19:11They threw the nets on the right side of the boat.
19:15And you know the story there, the miracle of the fishes.
19:18Same thing happened to Peter when he first got converted.
19:21He had a miracle of fishes.
19:25He ran to the Lord and fell on his knees and said,
19:28Lord, depart from me for I am a sinful man.
19:31And Jesus said, not a problem.
19:36From now on, you will be fishing for men.
19:39But unfortunately, Jesus saw that Peter abandoned all of it.
19:45And he had to because Peter had to be broken.
19:48His insecurity was horrible.
19:52His arrogant cover up of it, running his mouth all the time,
19:56drawing attention to himself, wanting to be seen and heard.
19:59You've met people like that.
20:02They're funny for a while, but man, later on, they get on your nerves.
20:05And if you marry somebody like that, wow, the marriage doesn't work out at all.
20:10That spouse will drive you nuts.
20:14Well, it happens.
20:18Peter's standing there talking to Jesus.
20:20And he makes him affirm his faith three times.
20:23He asks him three times.
20:24The first time, he says, Peter, do you love me?
20:29Agape, the highest form of love.
20:32And then he asks him a second time, Peter, do you love me?
20:37Once again, agape, the highest form of love.
20:41And then the third time, he asks him, Peter, do you like me?
20:45Greek word phileo.
20:47Because that's the term Peter was using.
20:49He always said to Jesus back, Lord, you know all things.
20:53You see everything.
20:54You know that I like you.
20:56I'm fond of you.
20:57Phileo.
20:57He didn't use agape.
21:00Peter had been broken.
21:01And for the first time in his life, because he was broken, he was able to look himself in the
21:07eye and see that he did not have agape love for Jesus.
21:13It was phileo.
21:15He was very fond of him and liked him very much.
21:21Yeah.
21:22And marriages that are in trouble, same thing.
21:27They don't have any real agape for each other anymore.
21:31Their behaviors have kind of worn each other out.
21:34And now it's more like a sandpaper relationship.
21:37But there's certain things about them that they do like and that they are fond of.
21:43So the marriages kind of stay together in spite of the fact the agape has kind of disappeared.
21:52And the third time, Jesus said to him, Peter, do you like me?
22:01And that's when Peter got broken again.
22:07Peter, do you phileo?
22:09Do you like me?
22:10Are you fond of me?
22:11That's the third time Jesus said to him, do you love me?
22:17And then Jesus kept telling him, you need to shepherd my sheep and feed my lambs and feed my sheep
22:23and take care of my little lambs.
22:27That's what Jesus told him.
22:29What was he really telling him?
22:31Hey, come home now.
22:35I saw your enormous failure.
22:37You suffered with enormous guilt.
22:40Let's remove both and come home.
22:46Let's remove both and come home.
22:49And then Jesus gives him his prophecy.
22:51Remember that?
22:54He said, when you were young, you got to do anything you wanted to do.
22:57You went here.
22:57You went there.
22:58You did what you wanted.
22:59But when you're old, that's not going to happen.
23:03Somebody's going to take you places you don't want to go.
23:07And they're going to do things to you you don't want them to do.
23:11And, of course, that was his prophecy about him being a martyr.
23:19Can you imagine it?
23:22Yeah.
23:25Now, unfortunately, had Judas gone back to God and repented, had he gone back to the disciples and repented, he
23:35could have been forgiven.
23:37He didn't do that.
23:38The demon of guilt killed him.
23:47But you notice, Jesus said in the beginning, Peter, the devil wants to sift you like weak, but I prayed
23:54for you.
23:55You didn't hear those words for Judas, did you?
24:00No.
24:01He gave Judas one chance after the other to not do what he did.
24:08But over and over again, he gave him chances to get out of it, and he wouldn't do it.
24:17I got a theory on that.
24:18It's not in the Bible.
24:19I can't prove it, but it's just an emotional theory.
24:23I think Judas was looking at Jesus thinking, you know, I can make a couple of bucks off this guy.
24:32And I hate poverty.
24:34I want money.
24:35And you met people like that.
24:39And I think Judas said to himself, you know what?
24:42I'm going to go to the high priest, and I'm going to get some cash out of this.
24:49Because Jesus always escapes from the Pharisees.
24:53He always gets away from them.
24:55So what I'll do is I'll turn them over to him.
25:00I'll get the money.
25:04But Jesus will escape, and we can go back to our normal stuff.
25:12And when he saw he wasn't going to escape, and that he'd been taken and put on a kangaroo trial,
25:21he went back and tried to fix it and reverse it.
25:25He said, listen, I've betrayed innocent blood.
25:27The Pharisee says, we don't care about anything innocent.
25:30We don't care about innocent blood.
25:31That's your problem.
25:33You do it, Jack.
25:34That's what the devil says to you all the time.
25:36He said, oh, you're nice and miserable right now.
25:39You're hurting right now, aren't you?
25:40I don't care about that.
25:42That's your problem.
25:43You see to it.
25:45My job is to dump more misery on you.
25:48It's all good.
25:50Well, Judas couldn't take it after that.
25:53He realized what he had done.
25:55And his scheme blew up in his face.
26:00And he hung himself.
26:02Guilt will kill you, friends.
26:05Peter left the ministry and went back to fishing.
26:09Why guilt?
26:10Head him by the throat.
26:14Well, in Ephesians chapter 1, the Bible is pretty darn clear, isn't it?
26:19You've read this before, haven't you?
26:22Well, I hope you have.
26:23Dear God, I hope you have.
26:25You've read it before, right?
26:26Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
26:29who blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.
26:34For he has chosen us in him before the foundation of the world,
26:38that we should be without blame before him in love.
26:44The Greek word for without blame there is amomos.
26:49And it means to be declared not guilty.
26:58When I had my girlfriend get an abortion, I was guilty of murder.
27:06When I fell down at that altar decades later, crying my guts up,
27:16the blood of the blood of Jesus washed away.
27:20And that was only one of a billion other sins.
27:26Man, I had so many sins, it was unbelievable.
27:29I was just a textbook piece of garbage.
27:33The blood flowed over me from Calvary.
27:37It was almost like I was standing there and that I had stabbed him in the chest
27:43and the blood was squirting out on me.
27:47That's what it was like almost.
27:50And when I stood up after about an hour from crying and praying,
27:55I had been declared not guilty.
27:59I did not have an abortion.
28:03I did not do a million sins.
28:09I did not do it.
28:13I was declared amomos, not guilty.
28:20It could have happened to Judas, but he went the other way.
28:23He went Satan's way.
28:27Satan wanted to sift Judas like wheat, and that's exactly what he did.
28:31In the book of Acts, in chapter 1, there was another revelation about poor Judas,
28:37what guilt had done.
28:38They said that he fell headlong down from the tree branch where he had been hung,
28:46and he hit the rocks, and it was so severe that his internal organs fell out of his body.
28:58Simon couldn't do that.
29:00He had a family.
29:01He had a viable fishing business,
29:05and he was able to talk himself out of what he had done,
29:11and so he was able to survive.
29:13He never killed himself.
29:16But he had to be reconverted.
29:21He had to be reconverted.
29:27And that's you today.
29:30You did not sin like Peter did or Judas.
29:34You didn't sin anything close to it.
29:36I know emotionally it feels like you did, but you didn't.
29:41And guess what happened?
29:49Peter was completely restored, and you saw the fruit of it in Acts, chapter 2,
29:56when the day of Pentecost was fully come.
30:00They were all together with one accord
30:04Peter, in the upper room, and suddenly there was a sound of a rushing mighty wind.
30:11And the preacher that day?
30:15Could have been Judas.
30:17No, too late for him.
30:19Guilt got him.
