00:00A cargo vessel in the Red Sea reported that it came under attack on Sunday.
00:04It's a sign that security risks persist for ships transiting the Middle East.
00:08Abdelberg editor Michael Heath joins us more.
00:10So there's against the backdrop of continued technical talks,
00:14talks as we count down in the 60 days,
00:16which President Trump has already said he's happy to fan out a bit
00:21if it results in a better deal.
00:23The markets aren't particularly concerned,
00:25but there's still skirmishes and rockiness going on here.
00:29Exactly, Heidi, and this was an interesting one because it was in the Red Sea
00:32and, I mean, no one's claimed responsibility.
00:35There's not much, you know, details are scant,
00:37but it looks like it's the Houthis in Yemen.
00:39And we remember, you know, when Israel was,
00:42that the Houthis were attacking Israel and attacking shipping
00:44during the Gaza campaign as well.
00:46So whether they're coming back into the fold, I mean, you know,
00:49into the scene as well is something to observe
00:52because, of course, some countries have been trying to move oil out that side as well.
00:55And then meantime, as you say, there's been some U-turns
00:58by tankers that have been taking the Omani route through Hormuz.
01:02So there is still a lot of uncertainty about how that's all going to work out.
01:08As to the talks, yeah, they're on pause at the moment,
01:11mainly because Iran's holding a funeral for the Supreme Leader.
01:18And so, you know, his sons are out there
01:21and this is a thing that will go over several days
01:23until his final burial on Thursday.
01:26So, but nonetheless, it does look like 60 days is going to be, you know,
01:30too short for what needs to come out of it, at this stage at least, anyway.
01:34Yeah, watching the funeral coverage, obviously, it's Khamenei,
01:38but also his family members, including his granddaughter as well.
01:42How does that kind of fill the space that we know obviously still exists
01:47when it comes to, surely must be anger and anti-U.S. sentiment
01:51on the ground amongst the Iranian people?
01:54Yeah, look, I mean, we're looking at it from a long way away,
01:56but there was, I mean, there was a lot of people there
01:58and it was, you know, all through my lifetime,
02:00the death to America chant was back and that sort of thing.
02:03But, you know, we're talking thousands, hundreds of thousands maybe.
02:07I mean, this is still a country of 90 million
02:08and the quiet majority, my sense is, they're not particularly,
02:13you know, this is a man who has sort of led them
02:16towards disaster in many respects.
02:19So the child, I mean, any death of any child is a tragedy.
02:23So I'm not sure that, and after they've been bombed as well,
02:26I'm sure there was some coming together of the country,
02:28but the loyalty to the regime, particularly given
02:30the economic circumstances, I'm not sure how tight it is.
02:33But nonetheless, it was interesting to see just how many people there were
02:35and, you know, the Vox Pops that were given there
02:37were very, very anti-Western and pro the regime as well.
02:41So there is still, you know, some support there.
