00:00Hello. Hello, Kenny. How are you? Hey, great to be with you again. What a tremendous weekend.
00:06So much going on in the world of sports. Kenny, where do we even begin? It's called the Game Over
00:10Podcast. What'd you say? That's right. So it's great to be with you again. Yeah, it's great to
00:14be with you. Hi. Hi. It's good to see you. Good to talk to you. Power went out this weekend.
00:22How long was it out for you? About six, seven hours. Oh, there were businesses,
00:27restaurants that were out the entire weekend. I couldn't see the news, so I had no idea.
00:31A total wash, which is horrendous. They rely, obviously, on a big holiday weekend like this.
00:37Yeah. I had no idea. Some places in Lakewood. Did you lose your power? No, not at all. I saw
00:43you running with the kiddos at Bay Days. That was nice. Not me, my wife. Well, no, but you were
00:47running with Mason on the one race. You were showing them where to go. Yeah, they did. I'm
00:52sorry. Yeah, because Sarah ran the full five-mile one. Of course she did. No big deal.
00:57She won. Yeah. But Mason... Could have ran it backwards. Mason finished second. He's a fast
01:03young man. I am slow, so none of it came from me. Athleticism. Yeah, well, I mean, the athleticism
01:09comes from the mother's side. And people love... Everybody says that. People love hearing from
01:12slow, unathletic people on the radio talking about athletes and bashing them. I found that...
01:18I found that... And you're slow and unathletic? Yes. All right. Yeah. We got that going
01:21for us. I'm not... I don't know why... I'm in a bad mood, and I don't understand why, and
01:26I should be in a good mood. I gotta get out of the funk. I don't know what's... Why? What's
01:29going on? I don't know. I... I have no idea. I have no idea. I'm kind of in this weird
01:35headspace right now. I'm annoyed by... I can already tell I'm annoyed by everything. I don't
01:40know what it is. Hey, turn the AC off overnight. I don't know what the hell happened. This
01:47baseball, the World Cup. Oh, it was great Thursday and Friday. And then, you know,
01:51Saturday, Sunday, I mean, that's what happens. They're both... They're both competing for
01:54the division. You got a split at the outset of the series. That's the way kind of people
01:57would have thought. I know we got the FIFA going on and everything. And then there's
02:01LeBron watch. And it's not like I'm annoyed with LeBron watch or anything like that.
02:05I love it. I do think we will reach a point. And I'm waiting to see when that point is
02:10going
02:10to be for me when we kind of go like, all right, that's enough. Let's go. Let's go. Make
02:14your decision. We all got to figure out where we're going with this. Come
02:17on. Let's go. Because is there... Well, are there other moves that are on the table
02:22for the Cavs? Oh, I imagine so. Yeah. All right. So are we waiting for LeBron to make
02:26those moves? So that to me would make me wonder that your move for LeBron would hold
02:35up any of the other moves that are out there, which would in turn... And we won't play it
02:41yet. But there are a lot of haters out there who are talking about LeBron and how he might
02:46not have the market that we make it out to be. Like Rich Paul says, there's 27 teams
02:51that are looking for LeBron or calling about LeBron, which again, I don't know why you
02:56couldn't just call. I don't understand why that's an embellishment or anything like that.
02:59Everybody would call. It's part of your job as a general manager to call. But the market
03:05for LeBron not necessarily being the biggest market that it's ever been for LeBron. But part
03:10of that I think would be natural. I mean, he's 41 years old. He's going to be 42 this
03:13winter. I imagine every team in the NBA would take him for a league minimum. So it's not
03:18that they wouldn't take him. Certainly they would. I mean, he was a top 20 player, especially
03:23in the playoffs. Certainly he was. In the playoffs. Yes. I mean, he might have been better than
03:26that. So I think anybody would take him. It's just the question is, what's the money situation?
03:32Which is kind of a big deal as I think we're all learning about just how divisive these contracts
03:38are in today's league. Like 10 years ago, Kenny, if you qualified for a max deal, you
03:43just put the max deal on the table. The player took the max deal and we all moved on with
03:48life. Now it's not so easy as the Jalen Brown thing kind of reinforces and you've got a lot
03:53more players who are going to be, we're going to be talking about whether or not guys are
03:57deserving of max deals differently than we've ever talked about it before. Yes. So I don't
04:03know. I guess I'm just kind of, I'm waiting to be annoyed by it. I don't. What's to be
04:11annoyed? What do you mean? Cause I just, I think I'm going to get to a point where it's
04:13like, all right, let's make the decision so we can move one way or the other. Like I'm
04:16just looking at like maybe, and maybe this is where I'm headed here. I have how many different
04:22podcasts here? Like you remember the thing we got about the, who was the, whose attitudes
04:27or whose opinions we take seriously about Shador Sanders, right? Yeah. And so there's 25 people
04:34on this list of opinions. We take seriously on who should start list of people. We take
04:39seriously on who should start for the Browns, right? Okay. We have fans callers number one
04:44and part of this Herb streets in here. Uh, Mike Garofalo's in here. Janine Garofalo's in
04:50here. Brady Quinn. Uh, did you kick off Mike Silver and Diana Rossini? Did Jeremy Kessler
04:56make the list? I wrote Kessler. I only have a last name. Kessler. Yeah. Like
05:02Sorsby's former lawyer. I, that's what I'm Jeffrey, Jeffrey Kessler. I say, Jeremy, I'm
05:07sorry. Jeffrey Kessler. Uh, I have Kessler in here. I have Hoyer or love ski Baker. Baker
05:14was asked, but didn't really give an answer. Josh Cripps. Anyway, I'm sorry. I'm going
05:17I'm doing this. Manziel was not on that list. Manziel was not on that list. So now I have
05:21this list. And again, I'm like, it's every single podcast player pod that you've ever
05:31seen. Like Joe Johnson, Jeff Teague, uh, Daryl and Lance. No, that's them. Uh, Anthony
05:37Slate. Oh, no, that's a writer. Uh, Rick Buecher, who we've actually will play cause
05:42he's covered the league for a long time. Like how many players do we want to hear what
05:46Joe Johnson thinks about LeBron? I'll hear it. What anybody wants to think what Jeff
05:50Teague thinks about LeBron? I'm asking, I'm asking, do people, do people will, will Jeff
05:55Teague sway people's opinions on whether LeBron. No, Jeff Teague. So should we bother
06:01with it is what I'm asking. It's just such a, it's let's be honest. This is, this is
06:05that time. Normally if I guess the world cup, cause I asked you, you didn't seem all
06:09that enthralled with some of the world cup stuff going on, which I think it's been
06:12amazing. No, that's not it. Well, you said you don't watch any over the weekend. I watched
06:15I watched the guardians over the weekend. And then basically that was it. I, you asked
06:20me, I told you I've never watched so much soccer, but what I'm getting, what I'm getting
06:23to is I love how, because I didn't watch much of it. You're not enthralled. You don't like
06:27soccer. No, that's not what I said. Well, it's, I mean, if you're not into this, when
06:31are you ever going to, well, whatever, but that's beside the point. What I'm saying is
06:34it's such normally a dead time of the year, like baseball, we're getting towards the all-star
06:38break. These are the doldrums and you know, they've already been the big moves in the
06:43NBA. So yeah, it's still LeBron too. And all these podcasters, they're not stupid.
06:48They know fair mention LeBron. It's a basketball podcast too. Yeah. It's your stuff's going
06:53to get aggregated. And the fact that I wouldn't have known Joe Johnson even has a podcast.
06:57No, if it was a nightcap. Yeah. If it wasn't for a clip that we may or may not play
07:02about
07:02LeBron. So it makes sense. Tactically, line them all up. Kayla, we got time. Line them
07:09up. Let's hear them. Joe Johnson, 0-1. Teague, 0-1. Let's get them in. We want to hear
07:14whether or not they're ready. Howard Isley, 0-1. I'll go right off. Yeah. Ilkin and Barrasso.
07:19Jared Sullinger, 0-1. Yeah. I'll write it in. Teague, 0-1. Jeff Hornacek. Let's get Joe
07:25Johnson, 0-1. Let's go Vinny Baker, 0-1. Del Negro. Okay. Vinny Del Negro. Oh, what a great
07:33pull. Vinny Del Negro, 0-1. Okay. A little Vinny in my game. Do you have Joe Johnson yet?
07:39All right. Here's Joe Johnson, and he's on the nightcap pod about LeBron going back to
07:43an X. Hit it. He going back to an X. It's going to be Cleveland or Miami. It's going to
07:48be
07:48one of them. Probably, if I'm him, I can hold your real talk. That Miami thing just looks
07:53too sexy. It's hard to say. I ain't going to lie to you. Playing with Bam and Giannis and
07:59him just being able to facilitate. See, he can have a lot of the ball handling duties versus
08:04if he go to Cleveland, hey, you got Donovan and James Harden. Yeah, he'll still get the
08:08handle and playmate, but playing in Miami, hell, he'll probably be the damn point guard.
08:13All right. That's Joe Johnson, and I don't know who his partner was. His partner asked
08:18like he was. That's Ocho. That's Ocho Cinco? Yeah. Ocho Cinco was that surprised. You see
08:24how much of these pods I subscribe to. Ocho Cinco was that surprised he would say Cleveland?
08:30Yep. Why? Isn't Cleveland the odds-on favorite? I think they're the betting favorite, right?
08:37Why would he be so shocked that he would go to Cleveland? Is there a reason behind that?
08:41John, I'm not trying to bust your stones. I'm asking. I'm asking. That's all.
08:45No, that's the one I saw, but I feel like Ocho, we've had Ocho on this show a little bit
08:49a couple times via the podcast. He's been really anti-Cleveland, hasn't he?
08:55I don't know. I don't know how to keep all the pods straight. Here's Jeff Teague on Club 520,
09:00not Club 537. On the Club 520 podcast, LeBron going back to Cleveland. He says he'd be the
09:06perfect fit. Speaking of LeBron, they said that he's supposed to get a documentary basically
09:11documenting this last season, quote-unquote, or this upcoming season. With that being said,
09:15do y'all think he's going to be Miami Heat or Cleveland Cavalier?
09:17He's going to be in Cleveland. They're doing a documentary. It don't even make sense to be
09:21anywhere else. I agree. They're going to let it linger a minute.
09:23I think we will find out by Monday. No. LeBron going to let this linger. JB just got traded.
09:29Listen, when Brown make his decision, come on, bro. He did it already.
09:32I had the Wizards up today. I was not mad at that. I'm nothing on the Wizards, bro.
09:37He's not documenting the Wizards. It's going to be perfect with him and Cleveland.
09:40A toxic-ass relationship, bro. Going back twice.
09:43It's Cleveland because they still a playoff team. He ain't going to no trash.
09:47I'll f*** with that, bro. He do whatever the f*** he want and then still be at the highest level
09:51on whatever he do. It ain't like he go somewhere and f*** up your team.
09:55No, he leave it in shambles. But when he gets there, it's in good hands.
09:58Yeah. I mean, well, the Lakers are all white now.
10:01Dog, we was talking about it on the morning show. We was like, all right, what's the Lakers
10:03going to do? And we left and they said, yeah, we up.
10:06Rob Palenka was out there spinning that chicken.
10:08He couldn't wait till Brown say he ain't coming back.
10:10Yeah.
10:11Yes.
10:12I think we get the picture.
10:13All right. There we go. John really gave us the meat and potatoes.
10:16We're just holding in on a big cup. Where's the second segment? That was the first segment.
10:19Where's the second one?
10:20Oh, mighty. Do we have any feeling on the Philadelphia 76ers?
10:25John, are we going to get their ad reads next? Was that coming?
10:27Lord almighty. All right. So we got those out there. We got Jeff Teague and Joe Johnson.
10:32Do we hear from Bob Sura today? Find out a little bit later on.
10:36He was a problem. You got to check out some highlights. He was a problem back in the day.
10:38He was. He was. Actually, I didn't like Bob Sura. I wasn't a fan.
10:41No?
10:41No, I don't know why.
10:42Was it the hair? Was it the Clooney?
10:42I think it was the hair. I think it was the hair. Either way, you're going to hear if
10:47we keep playing this and you hear more of this, it's going to be like, all right, you
10:52come in. What are you doing? Like every, like the reason I make the comparison, everybody
10:57has their boiling point on everything. So you'll have your boiling point on LeBron and then
11:01there will be people. I guarantee it. Like when we get into training camp, like, come on,
11:04just, just pick a quarterback and let's go. Right. Let's not mess. Yeah. If it, if this
11:08thing, honestly, I think I got a couple more days in me for this. So you're right.
11:12The more I think about it, um, I I've enjoyed it so far because we seem to be in the
11:16lead
11:17for a lot of the betting markets, the podcasters, some of like, I was listening to Bill Simmons
11:22and Zach Lowe on my way in. They, they put out a pod last night. Now it's on Netflix and
11:28whatever. It's like the biggest podcast there is. And they just crapped all over it. They
11:32just, they think this would be the worst decision ever to go to Cleveland. And I'm like, I don't
11:37know. They were just one of the last four teams remaining and they could have used him.
11:40He'd be probably a massive upgrade over Dean Wade. Now I'm going to be happy. Keep, keep
11:45going on this. And they can articulate this better than me about the basketball. Yeah.
11:50Like those guys are going to be just wandering in the desert, not knowing like Donovan Mitchell,
11:56James Harden, LeBron. They're going to be clueless. I don't know who gets the ball next.
12:01Like there's some of the highest IQ players in the game. I think they'll, they'll probably
12:05figure it out. Who says this stuff? Um, it was Bill Simmons, Zach Lowe and Zach Lowe. I mean,
12:09he talks to, to people all over the league. He's pretty plugged into all the front offices.
12:15Uh, he knows the Cavs are really good last year. Like I I'm, I'm very surprised. Those
12:20are two. I do know they act like they would all fall over each other, getting the ball
12:25pass. I think there's, I think there's a little bit of a weird to me. I think there's a little
12:28bit of a wishful thinking here. Uh, because I think there is a prevailing thought that this
12:33year, even though rich Paul, you heard it in that podcast with him and Max Kellerman, that's
12:37on the, uh, Oh hell game over podcast. All right. You heard that on the pod where it's,
12:42he's like, Oh, it's nothing's guaranteed that it's his last season. There's been a, he says
12:47there's been a camera crew following him around for the last four years, which is interesting
12:50by the way. Uh, says there's a camera crew that's been following him around for the last
12:53four years. Says that there's no, there's no decision that's absolutely been made. I think
12:59that you have a plethora of writers. Should I share the, this conspiracy theory now or
13:04do you want me to wait till 623? Uh, make them wait. All right. 216-474-0092. All right.
13:10I'm serious about this. Do you believe anything about the fit and that this would actually
13:14be a bad fit for LeBron? Cause Lima doesn't. I really don't either. There is a theory that
13:21I have a conspiracy theory that I have hearing about, you said, Bill Simmons, Zach Lowe, Kevin
13:27O'Connor. Are there others that are named in here? All right. Give me some name names
13:31to name when we come back. So you have, we got the sit. Bill Simmons says that this is
13:38the worst place possible for him, right? Oh, you got to hear that. All right. Let's play
13:42because I have a conspiracy theory here in a second. Go ahead and hit the Bill Simmons
13:47clip. Can we all agree? Cleveland is the worst outcome. I ranked it by basketball fits
13:52and like entertainment value fits that I had Cleveland last. It's just like, forget
13:57there. He did his business. He brought them a title. He did it already. Don't you can't
14:00go back again. And the reason is it's just the Harden piece is just like, I, he's going
14:05to, what is he going to be doing when James Harden dribbles 30 times? And he still plays
14:09that way a fair amount of time. Nobody in the planet thinks that's a team that could win
14:13the title. I just don't see it. I don't think LeBron and Harden as two of my five best
14:17guys. I'm winning the title. I think it's ridiculous. Now I have a lot of respect for
14:21Zach Lowe. So I don't think he's saying nasty things, uh, because he hates LeBron or anything
14:26like that, by the way, uh, basketball conversations on 92 through the fan presented by Xfinity score
14:31the most reliable wifi one price, five years guaranteed Xfinity. Imagine that now Tone, you
14:37wanted to go after NBA media here, not just this clip, but also Kevin O'Connor and his tweets
14:42and all the other stuff. And give me the good stuff before I share you with my conspiracy.
14:47A few things here. First of all, nobody thought the Knicks were going to win the title this
14:51year. We got to stop saying things so definitively in this league where we've had eight champions
14:56in eight years. Nobody thought the Warriors in 2022, we're going to win the championship.
15:00Remember that was the, the no Kevin Durant. Um, Andrew Wiggins was the second best player
15:05on the Warriors. Zero people before the year thought that team was going to win the championship.
15:10Nobody thought the Raptors in 2019, we're going to win the championship. We got to stop
15:15saying this. It's going to make it's a turnoff. Like you guys cover the league. You can't just
15:20eliminate teams before the season starts because you sound stupid. And what did everybody do
15:24after the Knicks won the championship to like, well, nobody saw that coming. So then why are
15:28we turning around and doing it the same thing? The very, like a week later, like we got to
15:32stop doing this. Yes. Well, the cats probably not win the championship next year with whatever
15:38machinations, whatever type of team they assemble. It's hard to win championships. I didn't think the
15:43team in 2016 would win and they had LeBron James on it in his prime. I didn't think they would
15:47win.
15:47I thought, I thought a different team would win. I thought it would be the golden state Warriors.
15:50I do think fit matters more than it, than it ever has. But I also think that this would still
15:55be the
15:55best chance you have to win a championship with this current organization. Who was telling me that
15:59Carl Anthony Towns and Jalen Brunson was a great elite defensive fit. What did we all say?
16:05Oh, those guys are can't guard the pick and roll. I said it and they won the championship.
16:09So I do think smart players on a basketball floor can figure things out as evidenced by
16:14they threw James Harden, who's supposedly the worst player ever. Well, according to the way
16:20these people talk, they threw him on the calves for what? 25 games. And they went to the Easter
16:25conference finals. They figured some stuff out. They didn't figure everything out. They still have
16:29some things to figure out. I'm hoping that it wouldn't just be LeBron James. I think they probably
16:34have to trade Jared Allen to, to create a better fit than yes. They'll have some defensive issues.
16:39But I also think sometimes you got to bet on smart basketball players with high IQ,
16:44the hall of fame talent to figure things out. It's do they think, do they think James Harden
16:49is just going to dribble the ball away for 40 minutes a night? Like he did that in, at times
16:55during the playoffs, because he had to, because either a combination of other guys were gassed,
17:00role players were not stepping up and hitting shots. I think that was pretty, pretty evident
17:06by, by the numbers. I playoffs are kind of harder than the regular season. I do recall us winning
17:12two game sevens. That was, that was supposed to be pretty cool. Apparently not like, I don't know.
17:17I just get to this point where I'm, I listen to all these guys and they're so matter of fact,
17:22Oh, not a good fit. Therefore, what we're, we're already eliminating. How many teams are we
17:26eliminating for next year's championship run? How many you tell me, you guys tell me everybody
17:30that's so negative about this weird because how many teams can not win the championship?
17:34You've had eight different champions over the last couple of, over the last eight years,
17:37over the last couple of years, you've had eight different champions in eight years.
17:40There's more parody than ever, but we do talk in, in, in finalities here.
17:44So maybe we should stop doing that.
17:46That can do that. I think you're right. Okay. I agree with you. And not just because it makes sense
17:50for me as a Cavs fan. I do think that that's right. I think we have to have an open
17:53mind about all this.
17:54Second thing is though, like are you guys banking on Kawhi Leonard being able to play more than 30
17:59games this year? Um, or should I eliminate Toronto? Should I eliminate Detroit? They haven't really
18:03done much, uh, so far. So sorry, Kate Cunningham. Yeah, I guess you shouldn't show up this year.
18:09You're not going to get better. Your, your team has been eliminated. Apparently not.
18:12It's Indiana. I don't hear anybody talking about Indiana who could have won the championship two
18:16years ago, who nobody saw coming. Was anybody saying Indiana had a chance to win a championship?
18:21Their best player went down or they might've won the championship throw this in here. All right.
18:26Now we play Joe Johnson. We play Jeff. Like, yeah, there's a lot of different players. Like,
18:31all right, we got to, we got to cap it somewhere. All right. Let's cap it somewhere of the guys
18:37who've played with LeBron, played against LeBron, anything like that. But let me throw this at you.
18:42Yeah. They'll deny it, but being here for straight years, I think they just want a new story
18:54of LeBron, the NBA media, the ones that just write about it. The ones that, that are content creators.
19:01I'm talking major networks, the Simmons is the lows. I am. I'm not trying to throw low into a bad
19:07spot here. Cause I do. I, I, I liked the guy, never met him. He did me a favor once,
19:12not even
19:12realizing it, but, uh, he, he seems like a nice enough person. I do think that my conspiracy theory
19:18is, is that they don't want him to come back here. Cause if this is his last right, they don't
19:22want
19:22to be here a bunch of times. They don't. I don't think they really like it coming here. I don't
19:28think
19:28they like being here. We heard the gripes. They kind of got used to it over the four years,
19:33the second four years that he was here, uh, in, in part two, but I, there, we heard so many
19:40gripes. I remember when they first put this team together, cause right after they put the team
19:44together in the next year, you and I were together and we were hearing all these gripes and calling
19:48them out for the, well, you're bitching about being here. You're getting paid to do a job, do a
19:52job. It's not like they're having it in hell on earth. It's Cleveland, Ohio. And I do think that
19:57there is, they like to travel, but they like to travel to places they like to travel to. So they'll
20:02come back to Cleveland. Like once if LeBron has his one time. I hope he goes to Memphis and you
20:09guys got the one hotel to stay in. That's enjoy that. There you go. And I, but I do, I
20:14think
20:15that there's a lot of media members out there that dread the thought of him coming back here
20:19because that means they have to come back here so many more times. I really do. And if you disagree
20:25with me, fine, let me have it. But I, you know, going back to, I, I mean, I still stick
20:29out to the
20:30the time Jay Adande, who is a professor at Northwestern of all things. I mean, supposed
20:36to be real smart. I mean, really said some lowbrow nasty things about the city of Cleveland
20:41and then refused to take it back. Which, you know, my state, my stance on cities is that
20:45there's going to be good parts and bad parts. Every city that's big city guy. He loves them
20:49all. It's up to you to find the good parts and to try to, to shield yourself from the bad
20:55parts. If you're visiting, no, I'm with you. My wife was just in Des Moines, Iowa. Could not
20:59stop raving about Des Moines, Iowa. And there's good things about Des Moines, Iowa. What if LeBron
21:02chooses Des Moines, Iowa? Can you just, would that be great if he could just choose a city
21:05and then build a team and then they expand, the NBA expands that year? There's, there's
21:09bad parts of Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Like there's bad parts of places and good parts of places.
21:15And I, I think they, and at the same time, I mean, hell, they're supposed to come back
21:19here and everybody's telling me the flats are dead again, which is about the fifth time in
21:22my life that the flats are dead. So now we got to get the flats going again.
21:25If LeBron comes back, cause they got to have some place to go after these games. Like
21:29there's a lot of infrastructure that has to happen here. And I'm not just talking about
21:32the new training facility, but no, that's honestly, that's my conspiracy theory towards
21:37it is that it's, it's not to the writers. It's not a destination city because of the
21:42type of cap that they have. I think maybe it becomes a destination city because then play
21:46players are going to want to play for the most money. So it's the same thing in like Cleveland's
21:50money is just as green as New York's money when it comes to the NFL. And I think it can
21:54become
21:55that way, especially cause this is a harder cap than what they, what you really find in the
21:58NFL. So I, I think that there's something to be said for the media at mass who travel all about
22:06the country following the traveling roadshow of the NBA where I don't think they want to be here.
22:10I don't think they want to be here that often.
22:12But it's so interesting.
22:12And I think they're rooting against Cleveland landing.
22:14These same types of people went after LeBron for ring chasing so much. And now all of a sudden
22:19Bill Simmons is like, yeah, I want him to go play with, uh, you'll get you Denver. I want him
22:23to,
22:23I want him to go play here. Like with other, other guys, I wanted to play with Steph Curry and,
22:28and, and all of a sudden go to golden state. Like, well, cause you guys got to make up your
22:32mind. What do you want him to do to them? What is said is what is said. So if they
22:35think he's a
22:36ring chaser, you might as well just go ahead and chase rings. It's still, it still goes along
22:40with everything that they've been saying over the last dozen years about him. But when it comes to where
22:44the calves are, when it comes to the story of him coming back, like, I don't think he can match
22:50anything of what he did in 2016. It's impossible. And I forget about 2017 and 18, which he was still
22:55here for, but that's where our brain stopped for him. I think it would be a different set of
22:59circumstances, a different conversation. It would be a trilogy to everything going on. And I don't
23:04know if we can necessarily expect a championship, but I think this is the time where you can't expect
23:09a championship out of anybody and any of the continuing teams. I really can't say that you expect them
23:13to not be able to vie for a championship because it's exactly what you said five minutes ago when
23:18they traded for Carl Anthony Towns. I did not take the New York Knicks as a serious threat to win
23:24an
23:24NBA finals. I knew that they were trying to be a threat, but the Knicks have done crazy things for
23:30a
23:30long period of time. And I just assumed it was another desperate Knicks move in there. They end
23:35winning a championship again for the first time since 73. I know like Bill Simmons. It's lame if he goes
23:40back, would he, would he find it lame? If Mookie Betts went back to Boston at the end of his
23:44career?
23:44No, I imagine he'd be, if he was still, if he was still able to play at the level that
23:49LeBron is
23:50still able to play at fair point, I'm pretty sure Bill Simmons would be thrilled. He'd be ecstatic
23:54that, uh, but you know, Hey, we have an owner that'll actually pay their, their private equity
23:59ownership group. Doesn't seem to want to pay for anything in basketball or baseball these days.
24:02Maybe that's why Bill is a little salty about things.
24:06Strong there. You put it back in the cage a little bit. 2-1-6-4-7-4-0-92.
24:11No, I, I do. I think that
24:12that's where a lot of the media members are on it. I think they want a new story to write.
24:17I think
24:17they want something, uh, refreshing. And I do think that to them, when they don't have much skin in the
24:23game and they don't, when they don't have much skin in the game, I think to them, it's a, another
24:27trip
24:27that they don't want to take. It's another story that they've written before and they don't want to
24:31really want to write a game. But why aren't they urging Steph Curry to change teams? Why aren't
24:34they like, Steph, go play somewhere else. This is boring. You guys have no chance. You're eliminated
24:38already. Because he's only been with one team, I guess. Well, but they're eliminated. That's no fun.
24:41Why? I don't want to watch them on Christmas day. They're boring now. When you go somewhere else,
24:45I think they want to tell a different story. I think they want something fresh. This is just LeBron
24:49going back to a place he's been to, and he's already been back there once already. Like, like, listen,
24:53I don't think it's everybody. I mean, you're, I guess I would consider you, even though you're a local
24:57radio show host, you follow the NBA. So you would be a part of that NBA media.
25:01Obviously you don't feel the same way. I shouldn't say that all media members feel that exact same
25:05way, but it's just, it's occurred to me that it's been eight years since the last time we were in
25:10the finals with LeBron. And it does occur to me that those memories of those writers complaining,
25:18moaning about what lack of nightlife, lack of restaurants that they like, even though places,
25:23every city brags about their food and Cleveland certainly has good food. I just think that they
25:29don't want to come back here. And I think that they're rooting for him to go. I think they're
25:33almost openly rooting for him to go somewhere else, to give them a fresh story, whether that be
25:37Philadelphia, whether that be Minnesota. I know Minnesota has been brought up a couple of times
25:42now here over the last couple of days. I think that that's where they're at. And I think Cavs fans
25:46are just in a holding pattern going, I don't care about the national media. I either want him to be
25:49here so we can be the most competitive we have, or for whatever host of reasons, we have started to
25:54see
25:54a groundswell on the other side, not wanting him to come back here. But those are, those are old
25:59feelings. And I think that those are old arguments of people who are afraid to let those arguments
26:04go. Why, why is there no thought of, well, what, what is LeBron going to be doing when LaMelo Ball
26:08is dribbling the ball the entire game or, or Anthony, like they've got players that also handle the ball
26:15or Philadelphia. What's it going to be when Joel Embiid comes in a game and just wants to take
26:1830 straight elbow jumpers.
