"O liebes teures Vaterland" is a Prussian song long lost to history, known only from a book published in Vienna in 1910. The authors of this book are Franz Blümel and Raimund Gotthart. The book states that the song was found in L. Kaltenegger's song collection "Lieder für Schule und Leben." Not much is known about this song, although there are variations of the melody with the same title in school books. According to this 1910 school book, verses 3 and 4 were written by someone with the last name Wenhart. The original composer and lyricist are unknown.
