00:00I'm currently walking along something called the Pinkery Canal which runs from Pinkery Pond
00:07all the way to Prairie Way and just to the south of Warren Farm. Now the canal is about 206
00:14years
00:15old. It was built by a family called the Knight family who came from Worcestershire and they were
00:22iron masters and they came to the Royal Forest or they bought the Royal Forest in 1819 and what we
00:29think this was used for was for pulling tugboats. So if you can imagine a really small tugboat about
00:35the size of a bathtub coming down the centre of these banks this would have been filled with water
00:42and then we would have had a horse on this side of the canal almost pulling the tugboat along.
