00:00I've just been up at Blackmoor Gate in Devon with Farmers to Action.
00:04They're a trailer of truth which is travelling the country.
00:06I'm Richard White, a beef and sheep farmer from North Devon.
00:10I'm here today with Farmers to Action and other farming groups in Unity
00:14showing awareness to the government that we haven't gone away.
00:18We haven't actually got a clear path of where the industry's going
00:21and I think we need to sit round the table with a blank piece of paper
00:26and, you know, we produce food but we subsidise it.
00:33We work for very little money.
00:35Everything we do earn goes back into the farm.
00:38We're heading to Liverpool with this trailer and to the Labour conference
00:43and it would be great to meet Emma Reynolds, the new DEFRA Minister,
00:49and discuss our issues.
00:51... respect. That's what we're here for, is to help us get our food
00:56to our people and help them to get nice food, good food and a good buy.
01:00Selling our food, etc. and everything else and just helping the farmers
01:03and I think they should all be on our side helping us.
01:06We're here to do a job and that's what we like to do.
01:09That's what we prove that we want to do for people to help them.
01:12And it's sending a very simple message to Labour
01:14that if you want to ensure that this country is able to feed itself,
01:18that it has that national security,
01:21you need to change your track with the family farm tax
01:24and you also need to restore the nature-friendly farming funding
01:29so that farmers are able to produce the food that we all need.
01:32Now this trailer is going all over the country,
01:34all the way up to Liverpool for Labour Party conference
01:37and Labour must listen to our nation's farmers
01:40because without them there is no future.
