00:00The Exmoor Nature Festival is over 50 events across the National Park over a
00:05two-week period. It's the chance to engage people, particularly young people
00:09in nature and Exmoor and conservation, the sort of work we're going to be doing.
00:12There's a lot of evidence now that actually being in nature is really good
00:15for our mental and physical health and well-being. Our landscape is a mixture of
00:20farming and nature and I think what Exmoor chose is how both can get along
00:25quite happily together. So birds, insects, really important, butterflies and yet
00:29just further along the hill we've got ponies and cattle quite happy grazing as well.
00:33It's got a lovely informal feel about it. Loads of the events are free. It's just a
00:38wonderful way, friendly way to showcase what we do. And I think Exmoor is
00:43particularly varied as a National Park. So we've got an amazing coastline, we've got
00:48beautiful woodlands, we've got moorland and we've got some amazing streams and
00:52river valleys. So I think it's that contrast of different habitats. So it's
00:56about showing, giving people a chance to come out here and experience
00:59the special bits about Exmoor and realising that it's that unique mix that
01:03makes Exmoor so special. For more information search Exmoor Nature Festival or
01:08visit the Exmoor National Park website.
